Chapter 5

Flash forward now Peter was still with Donna and Joseph, he was shocked that he stayed this long with a foster parent, Haskel and Martha were adopted out long ago. Now they are all teenagers. While Peter was at school, Donna got a phone call from Ms. Shelly.

"Hello, Mrs. Donna."

"Hello Ms. Shelly how are you doing?" asked Mrs. Donna.

"I'm fine, well I got some news for you, good news," said Ms. Shelly.

"Oh," said Mrs. Donna.

"It is about Peter, the couple finally came threw, they are going to adopt Peter," said Ms. Shelly.

"What! really oh my gosh that is excellent news, can I tell him?" asked Mrs. Donna.

"Yes you can tell him, I will be there to pick him up and take him to his new family," smiled Ms. Shelly.

"That's great, I'm so excited for him," said Mrs. Donna.

"Me too he has come along way from where he was," said Ms. Shelly.

"Yes he has," said Mrs. Donna.

"Well that's all I had to say about that, so I guess I will talk with you later," said Ms. Shelly.

"Oh so what time will you be here to pick him up?" asked Mrs. Donna.

"Around seven or so," said Ms. Shelly.

"That's good to me, I'll be sure to make him start packing when he gets home from school," said Mrs. Donna.

"Alright I'll see you then," said Ms. Shelly.

"See you tomorrow," smiled Mrs. Donna.

"Alright goodbye," said Ms. Shelly.

"Bye," said Mrs. Donna.

Mrs. Donna was so excited, she couldn't wait for Peter to get home from school. She called her husband and told him the good news. He was so thrilled that Peter was going to experience what love is and what it means to be taken care of.

"Hey Peter, can I borrow a pen?" asked a girl.

"Sure you can, here you can have this one," said Peter.

"Oh thank you how is your story coming along?" asked the girl.

"Oh it's coming along quite good, I'm working on chapter five right now," said Peter.

"Hope you don't mind me asking what is it called?" asked the girl.

"Oh its called the Ranch," said Peter.

"That's neat," said the girl.

"What's your's called?" asked Peter.

"Fool Moon," said the girl.

"Fantasy writing cool," said Peter.

"Yes," smiled the girl.

They both continued writing their stories until the bell rang for them to go home. Then the bell rang, everybody got their belongings and went to the bus. The bus arrived and all the kids came on the bus to go home. When Peter arrived home Donna was sitting at the table sorting the mail.

"Anything for me?" asked Peter putting his stuff on the couch.

"Yes, here is another letter from Ms. Kacey and Jared," said Mrs. Donna.

"Oh good, thank you," smiled Peter opening it and reading it.

"I also have some great news for you," smiled Mrs. Donna.

"You do, what is it?" asked Peter.

"Well, Ms. Shelly is coming to get you and take you to South Dakota. There is a family there that filled out paperwork, they adopted you," smiled Mrs. Donna.

"I'm adopted, Oh my gosh, I'm speechless, I don't know what to say, I'm finally getting adopted, I'm finally getting a family," excited Peter Wolf.

"I know sweetheart, I'm very excited for you as well, you deserve it, honey," said Mrs. Donna.

"So I need to start packing, will I have time write Ms. Kacey and Jared on what happened?" asked Peter Wolf.

"Yes you will have time, I'll help you pack as well," smiled Mrs. Donna.

"Great," said Peter quickly going to his room to write a letter to Ms. Kacey and Jared.

So he started writing, he put the letter in an envelope and ran outside to put it in the mailbox to be taken. So he ran back inside and Donna helped pack his belongings for tomorrow.

The next morning he woke up early and got dressed and grabbed his belongings and started going back and forth and putting his stuff in the living room.

"I see you are ready to go," smiled Mrs. Donna.

"Yes," said Peter.

"I will ask Ms. Shelly if she can give me there address so I can send Ms. Kacey and Jared your new address," smiled Mrs. Donna.

"Okay that is a great idea," said Peter.

"What about school?" asked Peter.

"Don't worry the school will send your stuff to the new school," said Mrs. Donna.

"I made snacks for you and Ms. Shelly for the road," smiled Mrs. Donna.

"Thank you," smiled Peter.

There was a honk and Ms. Shelly got out of the car. Mrs. Donna opened the door.

"Good morning guys," smiled Ms. Shelly.

"Morning," said Mrs. Donna.

"Morning Ms. Shelly," Peter taking his belongings to the car.

"I'm so excited for him Donna," smiled Shelly as they were watching him put his stuff in her car.

"That's all my stuff, Ms. Shelly," smiled Peter.

So Peter walked back in and checked his room, under his bed and the closet and the bathroom.

"Yes that is everything," said Peter.

"Good, now give me hug," said Mrs. Donna.

So Peter hugged Donna. A white truck drove up and honked. It was Donna's husband.

"Wait I got something for you," said Mr. Joseph.

"Thank you, you didn't have to do that," said Peter.

"I wanted to, here, it's an eagle feather with art drawn on it, and some sweet grass in a picture frame," said Mr. Joseph.

"Wow, thank you," said Peter.

"Yeah something for you to remember when you go back home," said Mr. Joseph.

"Back home?" asked Peter.

"Yes Darling, the people that adopted you live in South Dakota, they live two miles away from the Indian reservation," said Ms. Shelly.

"I'm going back to South Dakota?" asked Peter.

"Yes, but not on the reservation," said Ms. Shelly.

"That's okay, hey maybe I'll see Mary and Haskel, they moved there too," said Peter.

"They sure did, they do live in the reservation, their grandparents got full custody of them," said Mrs. Donna.

"That's cool," said Peter.

"Well we better get going," said Shelly getting into the car.

"Okay, this is goodbye, and I will write to you as well," said Peter giving Mrs. Donna and Mr. Joseph a hug.

"You better, and if you do meet Martha and Haskel tell them hello for us," said Mrs. Donna.

"I will, I'll give them your address so they can write you," smiled Peter.

"Thank you," said Peter.

Shelly and Peter were on the road once again, just like old times, windows rolled down and turned the radio up loud and started singing down the highway.
