The Only Witness

"Didn't you say that you were also from here in Paisible Province, Jake?" Kevin said while they were walking.

"Ah, yes. But we decided to settle in the city three-almost four years ago." he answered. Lanie kept on listening to them.

"Lanie also lived in the city three years ago. How many years did you live in the city again, Lanie? You worked there right?" Kevin said as he looked at Lanie. She remembered that she was telling him the things she was remembering when she was having a headache because she was with him most of the time. Kevin was that have a kind of comfort to her and she didn't even know why. Maybe because he was the only one who could stay by her side no matter what. And it also added that she remembered Patrick to him.

Lanie slightly nodded at them and gave them a small smile. After that, Lanie changed the subject by introducing and showing her plantation to Jake. Kevin also stopped mentioning something about the past.
