Chapter 3

And the question kept playing in my head over and over again like someone had put it on loop.

Though Rou is a complete stranger to me but it is also true that he was and is my husband, he sure would have loved me at some point, right?

He did agree to a new start but I still know nothing about him, who he is, his likes and dislikes, and everything about him. I know nothing.

Leaving him alone, I don't even know anything about me.

I decided to know more about me, the person I was or maybe as I am starting a new life so, the person I will be or am, is more important now.

After he had that call, we had to leave immediately. He said it was a business call and he had to be there for the meeting. So, we left.

He dropped me at the house and left for the office.

Lili sat in the library of the house. At first she was surprised to see so many books but she felt a connection to these books and assumed that she liked reading them before.

She took a novel out and sat there near the window, the moonlight shining bright and the lamp was lit but the room was dimmed.

She was so immersed in the book that she didn't notice that Rou had come home.

It was a big beautiful house, with great design, modern yet you could see some vintage touches here and there. Though it looked modern and was mostly modern from the outside to the inside. The main door had new security technology, and no one could enter without the fingerprint of the house owners or without the passcode.

Rou came in quietly. He made his way toward his room, upstairs. It was quite late and he had thought that Lili would probably be asleep by now in the room but when he entered the room he found no one there.

He checked the bathroom and had his heart beating a little fast in search of her. He started checking every room but she wasn't anywhere. He went downstairs to look for her but he never would have thought that he'd find her in the only place he would never have thought her to be in.

Lili, his wife Lili, hated books, didn't like the way authors so easily could make up stories and made the protagonist look like a Cinderella while in reality the Cinderellas didn't exist neither did their perfect prince. She despised books. Never touched any and pledged to never touch any.

And here Lili was so subtly sitting beside the window. In her simple attire, so drowned in the story of one of the novels from the shelf.

Rou opened the door a little and took some steps inside but it seemed like Lili still had no idea of his presence. Until he reached near her, she spoke so quietly

"Rou, I think I loved reading books."

To this, Rou was dumbfounded, confused, because how could the person completely change after losing their memory?

She looked at him slightly and found him confused, and so a little frown made it's way on her face.

Rou noticed this and replied truthfully

"You hated books in the past."

"How can that be? I feel like I have a connection with these books and I feel like I've read them before."

"In past when I used to be immersed in reading books, you'd always come to the library and try your best to have me drop reading but it never worked.

And one time we got into an argument because of this."

"Argument? What kind of argument? what had happened?"

"It was a beautiful day but was raining heavily outside, You were asleep upstairs and so I thought I could take this time and spend it reading books.

I was so deeply involved that I didn't notice you had woken up and had come to the library.

You wanted to spend the time together and you grabbed the book out of my hands and started to pull me out of the room. I was very immature back then and because of the gloomy weather having an effect on me, I just couldn't control myself and shouted at you and told you to never come in the library.

It was pretty stupid of me and I'm still sorry for the way I behaved."

Lili was listening to Rou without batting an eye and when he took a notice to this, there was something that pulled him in towards her. Something about this Lili, was different. The way she was before, the only time Rou felt anything of the so called Love was only in the beginning but now with this Lili, as if she was not her as if she was the person that Rou had always been waiting for.

He couldn't stop for the second time and pressed his lips to hers. This time Lili didn't hold back and found herself kissing back.

Before this there was a barrier between both of them and now that barrier was taken down with this one step.

Rou didn't stop, He could've and he should've but he didn't. Whatever magnetic field had establish between them, was stronger than they could control with the thoughts in their minds.

Lili was now on her feet, all these feelings boiling inside of her, were new and she wanted to explore them and dive into them,head first. Rou on the other hand had never felt this way for his wife or for anyone else. He had felt strong emotions while sexual activities but what he was feeling right now was way stronger than that.

Rou pulled Lili into him and now they were closer than they had ever been before. Hands trying to have each and every part of one another. Lili had no idea what was happening but she knew it was something that she had no control over. She thought that reading book was the most fascinating thing so far but now she found herself in the pool of arousal only just by their mouths touching and their tongues dancing on the beat of their hearts. Sweaty, they were all sweaty and It had only been a few seconds.

Running out of oxygen, they had to pull apart and when they did, both were panting heavily. Looking deep into each other's eyes, tangled in one another. Rou just lifted Lili off of her feet and held her in his arms, while she put her legs on both sides of him and grabbed onto his waist.

She didn't know what to say, they had no clue of what was happening. They were not thinking. For Lili Rou was her husband and the only man she knew or felt that she had ever been this close with but for Rou, He had secrets which wouldn't allow him to be indulged like this. Once those secret came out, it could destroy the lives involved in this.
