Secrets revealed

Depression, many people misinterpret this feeling. Sometimes some of us do not realize that depression is not when we feel unfortunate. It is more than that. This feeling is like we can't control what we think, what we feel, and what we do.

We are like losing light in a valley of darkness. We don't know where to go and can't even see something in front of us. We seem to lose hope, even though we all know hope is one of the keys to living in this world.

When sunrise provides another opportunity, we fall deeper and deeper into feelings of despair. When the clouds call us to go up with them to see the beauty of the world, all we think about is the path to fall. When the twilight sky is symbolized as the owner of happiness, we see it as meaningless.

Every day we feel it repeatedly. There is no joy even though the world offers it. The only thing we think about is how to end this pain. Or how it feels to numb this feeling so that we can't feel anything anymore because we think maybe it is so much better.

It is not weak. On the contrary, the people who experience this are the ones who had been strong in their whole lives. So they forget that it is okay to take a rest for a while.

Marbella Theodore, she didn't feel that she was depressed at that time, even though many bad things had happened in her life. Basically, she was a person who thought that everything was fine even though it was equivalent to her being a hypocrite. But you know what, the more we say it, the more apparent that feeling will be. So she thought it was better not to admit it.

After talking to Nora, she decided to trust her for everything. Because it was true what Nora said, she couldn't do anything at that time.

Ella was walking beside Daffa. They were heading to the parking lot. Without Ella realizing it, Daffa had stopped talking, and that guy was very concerned about her.

It would be a lie if Daffa didn't feel anything unusual from Ella, but he knew her very well. Ella couldn't be forced to say something that was inside of her. It was useless if he asked; Ella would reply that she was okay.

"El, please don't make me speculate what's going on with you," Daffa said when they got into the car.

"I'm okay."

"No, you're definitely not okay."

Ella sighed, not intending to listen to Daffa's words, which she thought would make things worse. She didn't like it when people tried to understand her because no one could. Even she couldn't.

While she was ignoring Daffa, she seemed to see something that certainly caught her attention from a distance.

Ella tried to see it clearly. It was Nora and Jackson. They seemed to be talking about something severe, and a few minutes later, they looked like they were fighting. Ella continued to watch them from afar without looking away.

"Ella do you hear me? What are you watching?" Daffa asked, looking at what Ella was watching.

More and more people covered her vision so that it became increasingly difficult for her to see Nora and Jackson, plus Daffa, who kept calling her and made her unfocused.

When Ella looked around again, there was only Jackson, who was struggling with his cellphone. Nora is not there anymore. Ella snorted in annoyance. She couldn't see what had made Nora leave Jackson.

"ELLAAAA!!!!"

"YES WHAT? I'm not deaf, why are you screaming," replied Ella.

Daffa sighed patiently, she had called Ella, but that girl seemed too focused on what she saw. "Never mind, El."

When she got home, she didn't do much. She was just trying to make another song. Ella always composed songs when she was having trouble. She could not express everything she felt to other people, but she could describe it in writing and song form. It truly helped her feel better.

The hours passed, and the twilight showed its beautiful orange glow. Ella had just finished writing the lyrics and was humming a little. However, she chose to rest and walk out of the balcony. She tilted her head up and looked up at the evening sky from there. She took a deep breath and tried to control what she was feeling that time.

She enjoyed her time alone with the twilight long enough until the orange color had turned dark—time for the night to take over. Ella smiled at the sky filled with stars. Everything felt perfect for a moment. Suddenly the door to her room was knocked, and someone entered her room.

"OH MY GOD, WHY MY LIFE IS SO FREAKING SAD," complained Vanya, and without asking permission, she immediately lay down on Ella's bed. Ella looked at Vanya, confused; she was speechless. "Wait- what are you doing here?"

"Oh hi El, I haven't stayed at your house for a long time, can I stay tonight?" beg Vanya.

"You are literally already here, what answer do you expect? There is no way I said no and kicked you out."

"Yes, exactly, i know. That was my plan."

Ella shook her head and tried to hold back her smile, "So what are we going to do now?" she asked, pretending not to know.

Vanya immediately sat up and looked at Ella with great enthusiasm. "ARE YOU REALLY ASK ME THAT QUESTION? C'MON YOU KNOW WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO. I REALLY MISS THIS MOMENT, OH GOD!"

Vanya then pulled Ella, and they laughed together. Ella is looking for a song that matches for that night, while Vanya is unpacking Ella's closet looking for the sleepover pajamas they have been preparing for a long time for a moment like that.

After they changed into the pajamas, they went down to the kitchen to make some cookies and hot chocolate.

After that, they came back upstairs, and it's time to talk about something serious.

"So, who want to start first?" asked the Vanya.

Ella shrugged, "You can go ahead if you want."

"Okay, I'm first. So yesterday the principal offered me to take part in some science competitions and he gave me time to think about it. I mean, I want to take it and my dad must really agree with that. But El, you know... I don't want to spend my whole teenager with just for studying. Because if I take part in those competitions it will last until my senior year. I don't know what i have to do."

"Oh Vanya, don't be sad. Come here," said Ella, and she stood up, holding out her hand to Vanya.

Ella put on a song that made them want to dance. "C'mon dance with me!!" said Ella, jumping to the beat of the music. Vanya laughed and shook her head and joined the dance with Ella.

The song 'Feel So Close' was played, which made them both smile widely. They laugh, jump, spin, and make weird moves that make them laugh.

"WHOA!! AHAHAHA THIS IS SO FUN," Vanya shouted without stopping dancing.

"Okay..okay that's enough. I'm out of breath," said Ella, then rested for a moment. They laughed again.

"Hey, Van. Do what makes you happy, not what you think other people will be happy with. We live only once you know that, right. Use it well. If you choose to take that competition, don't forget to enjoy your life. Okay?" said Ella, then smiled sincerely.

Vanya smiled at that and hugged Ella, "Of course, thank you!"

Their attention was diverted when they heard that someone had thrown a pebble at the window. The two of them walked towards the window and saw what was happening. Ella sighed when she found out who threw the pebble.

She then opened the window, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME, DAF? WHAT DO YOU WANT?"

Daffa laughed there. In case you forgot, Ella and Daffa's house is next door, and so is their room. If Ella looked out the window, what she saw was Daffa's bedroom window. Daffa often called her through the window in any way.

"HELLO THERE, I SEE YOU ARE HAVING A FUN, CAN I JOIN?" shouted Daffa from his room.

"This is called girls sleepover, you can join if you are a girl," replied Vanya.

"C'mon, I will take David too," begged Daffa.

"Definitely no, this is girls time, and you've ruined it. So if you don't mind, we wanna continue it. BYE!" Vanya answered without wanting to hear what Daffa said. She immediately closed the window and ignored Daffa.

"That guy, ughh. I wonder why so many people are crazy about him," Vanya complained, which made Ella a little teased.

"Umm Van... I think there is something I should tell you," said Ella doubtfully.

"What is that?"

"I think I like Daffa, I mean really like him," said Ella awkwardly. Vanya's eyes widened; she was very shocked. "NO YOU DON'T! OH SHIT ARE YOU SERIOUS?"

Ella nodded her head, "You know like... he and me grew up together since we were child, and I think I have more feelings for him. I thought that we will always be together until we grow old, but yesterday he said that he likes Aleya. And yeah just like that, i think it's just about time and he will leave me."

"No, listen to me. He and Aleya I bet they will not last long. But you two? Everyone also knows you will never be separated. Don't worry about that."

"Yeah i hope so. It's just feel so wrong if he's close to another girl."

"Yeah I know."

After a few minutes, they were silent. Vanya suddenly screamed like she wanted to cry when she saw her cellphone. "OH MY GOD."

"What's wrong?" asked Ella, confused and terrified.

Vanya covered her mouth with her hand and gave her cellphone to Ella, telling her to watch a video.

Ella pressed the play button, and at that moment, the world seemed to turn tragic.

The video begins with a couple laughing and singing together in the car, they look like they are drunk, but they both look delighted. And in the fourth-minute, things got worse, and there was a fight.

"WHY ARE YOU CHEAT ON ME? AM I NOT ENOUGH FOR YOU?"

"I SAID I'M SORRY! I didn't mean to hurt you. But you're always busy with your business and you don't have time for me. She's always there for me, okay!"

"FUCK YOU!"

"STOP HITTING ME!"

The couple could not control each other's emotions. They are so focused on their fight that they don't realize they have crossed the road line. In tenth minute, They crashed into the car in front of them and there was silent for a few minutes later.

Ella closed her mouth, holding back the urge to cry. It was Nora and Nathan. A few minutes later, Nora woke up and looked around. She was in very bad shape. She looked at Nathan and saw that the man was covered in blood and was unconscious.

"NO NO NO NO! NATHAN! HEY HEY BABE PLEASE. NOO!!!"

"I'M SORRY, PLEASE STAY WITH ME," Nora said, cupping Nathan's bloodied face with both hands. Nora screamed for help while crying. "HELPP PLEASE HELPPP I-"

"Nathan please don't do this to me, don't leave me," said Nora with sobbed.

"I love you, I'm sorry. I forgive you, but please stay with me, don't go. Please don't leave me like this."

Ella wiped her tears. Her heart was ripped to pieces until the end of the video. She looked at Vanya, "Where did you get this video?"

"The video was distributed on the school's social media, it is illegal. It will definitely be taken down soon. But I'm sure many have seen it, the whole school will know," said Vanya.

Ella observed the social media page and read one by one of the comments that were there like this:

I expected that Nathan would not just die because of his mistake. Nora fucking kill him tho.

Nathan is too good for you. JUST KYS NORA! @Nora

Wow, how can she live without feeling guilty lmao

Now we know the truth. It's Nora's fault we lost Nathan

it should be you, not him @Nora

And many more comments that dropped Nora. At that moment, she was apprehensive about Nora's condition. This all happened because of her fault. If she had refused Nora's help, surely none of this would have happened.

It was inevitable that Jackson knew Nora's plan. And in the end, Jackson acted by spreaded this video to destroy Nora.

Ella called Nora many times, but there was no answer. She also left a message for Nora. That night she could not sleep at all. What was on her mind is that she hope Nora is okay.
