Forest took a look at the cave that Crystal and her team would call home and said, "I still don't see anything wrong with this cave, we dragon sleep on cave floors and find no problem. You don't need a bed or a home the cave is just fine."
Crystal couldn't believe what she heard and all though she kept quiet while Forest was there she was angry at Forest for suggesting it.
Crystal took Nylla out for a flight and for once she was the one that needed to be calmed down.
Nylla landed on an abandoned Island and found herself listening to her riders complains.
"I am not even allowed to have my own bed!" Crystal told Nylla.
Nylla didn't understand why humans or even elves would need this stuff but felt that if her rider wanted something, why can't she get it?" Nylla wandered.
Crystal patrolled the borders with Nylla to make sure no one unwanted tried to get in and Crystal later took Starmist on patrol. Only to return to find even more dragons looking at the cave.
"You guys are getting ridiculous, you know what keep the cave we will camp out in the rain since that is what you clearly want," Crystal said as she grabbed her gear and walked down the path toward there usual camping spot.
Nylla fell asleep on the ground instantly and Starmist soon followed but Crystal couldn't sleep the floor was really hard.
Crystal felt the night air getting colder as it became morning and because she didn't sleep warm the next morning she found herself not feeling too well.
The riders all left for there home and promised not to tell anyone.
She found herself feeding the livestock, planting the herbs making sure the trees were watered and by afternoon she started to get dizzy and the hot weather wasn't helping at all.
She was on her way to a tree with a lot of shade when she felt at her worst yet and as she sat down below the tree. She laid down on the ground only this time the hard surface didn't bother her as she closed her eyes to rest for a while.
It was hours later, Nylla and Starmist were looking all over the place for Crystal and they could not find her and when they did find her they tried to wake her up but Crystal would not wake up.
Starmist suddenly noticed Crystal looked really hot but the problem was at night it wasn't hot at all. Then it struck Starmist, Crystal had a fever and a really bad one. She tried to heal Crystal with her power but it didn't work at all.
Nylla looked at her rider and did not know what to do, she knew what the herbs for fever looked like but to her shock Crystal haven't planted them yet. Nylla left to look for the herbs but every time she found something she discovered it was the wrong herb.
It was only when the crystal guardians tried to chase her away from the new crystal kingdom that she thought Sophie might be able to know what to do.
"Please I need Sophie? Crystal is sick and we need someone with hands to help. She has a fever and there are no herbs around for a fever?" Nylla begged.
Sophie came rushing out and asked, "She only has a fever, you say?" Sophie asked.
"Yes, Starmist's is trying to heal her but nothing is working," Nylla said as she lowered herself to the ground to let Sophie rider her.
Nylla flew back towards Crystal as fast as she could and Sophie was shocked when she saw the state Crystal was in.
"Where is she sleeping at night? We need to get her to bed?" Sophie asked.
"The dragons didn't think she needed it if they are happy sleeping on the floor so should she be happy and not complain about it?" Nylla said.
"That's ridiculous we elves and even the humans have different needs from your dragon. We need a roof over our head to keep us dry when it rains, a warm bed at night to keep us warm while we rest up for the next days work. When it's cold it keeps us warm when it's warm it keeps us cold. Don't you understand that we have different needs no wonder she got sick and by the looks of it. She's alone trying to take care of everyone?" Sophie asked.
"Yes well the riders had to go home to there family's and she said she would be okay i mean our problems isn't their problems?" Nylla said.
Sophie got worried looking at Crystal and looking at the amount of work she had to do. Sophie did her best to help Crystal heal and was relieved when Crystal woke up the next morning.
"You and I are going to have a really serious talk young lady," Sophie said. Crystal gave Sophie a small smile and said, "I guess I failed to wake up from my fever?" Crystal said.
"My dear if you are not feeling well you need to rest. You are doing no one a favour by working yourself to death by pleasing everyone else. If the work gets to mutch for you ask for help then but don't try to do everything on you own," Sophie said.
"Sophie I want help, I need help but where do I get it. This place is supposed to protect everyone living here but where can I find people that are willing to help me and keep this valley save?" Crystal asked.
"I didn't know the need for help was this big?" Sophie asked. "It gets even bigger when injured and poisoned dragons start arriving in need of help and when you are alone it's not easy," Crystal said.
"Have you made any preparation for when injured dragons arrive?" Sophie asked.
"Yes, I planted as many herbs that heal poison and injuries as I can. I also planted many other medical herbs just in case. I want to turn this land her since its so well hidden into an enclosure for sick and injured mythical creatures and I feel like somehow we need to cater for elves and humans as well. This piece of land is what I chose. I want to build a small dam here to have water close by for the injured and the village which will be built there but not everyone is happy with that idea." Crystal said.
"I heard some of the dragons doesn't think this is needed," Sophie asked.
"Yes and I believe it is needed, if this war gets worse we might need to deal with many injured animals and people but how to convince the dragons they forget who it is that will be taking care of them when they are ill," Crystal said.
"Have you looked at any places to build your own home?" Sophie asked. "Yes, but the dragons didn't approve besides I don't know how to do this build without destroying everything?" Crystal said.
"I have heard that there are ways but the truth is. Building is not easy and this area needs to be developed if it will ever play a part in winning this war," Sophie said.
"Do you have any idea's on how I can achieve everything?" Crystal asked. Sophie thought for a while and said, "It's a difficult challenge as some of the dragons really don't like you destroying their homes."
"Then how about we make them a deal for every tree we cut down we plant two more in its place somewhere else in this kingdom that way we are not really destroying the forest." Crystal said.
"Its an idea but this is a massive job for one person, you will need a lot of help," Sophie said. "Yes and as you can see I don't have any help?" Crystal stated.
Sophie didn't have an idea on what to do either and she herself noticed that the amount of dragons and other creatures that came to the new kingdom is a lot less then she expected.
Crystal took Sophie back to the new crystal palace where Sophie insisted that Crystal stay there for a while until she figures out where her home will be. That night Starmist had her hay and Nylla was happy and content with sleeping in her own cave and Crystal found that she had forgotten what a bed felt like and decided there and then that the village is was off-limits for the elder dragons.
The next morning she started by asking the ancient dragons one at a time if she could build a home for herself but also if there are any items that they thought she might what to try but getting back to the village Crystal found that a group of hunters had arrived looking for rare creatures to hunt.
Nylla who could turn invisible breathed fire at the hunters landing close by. The hunters weren't scared at first but then when Nylla caused more trouble they ran out of the valley threw a cave opening in the cave that Crystal had chosen as her home.
