CHAPTER 3#

Robin has already prepared a list, in advance, for the goods he has to purchase. He went to the market in the evening and and returned at about 7pm.

He was very happy to see that the shop was looking well stocked now, this gave lots of satisfaction to him. He was confident that no customer will now return dissatisfied.

His simple calculation was that now it will not be difficult for him to pay the interest together with some principal within the stipulated period and clear the loan and then save some amount.

Some known customers appreciated him for expanding the business. And consequently the volume of sale also increased proportionately.

On the day Robin was supposed to pay the interest on the loan, 2 persons came to his house. Robin had already kept the money ready. So, he handed over the amount to them.

But they were surprised to get the money. They said, " You have to pay exactly the double of the amount."

But Robin said," But, it is the exact amount I have to pay on the loan that I had taken."

They came to Robin and said," You see the amount you have taken."and they showed him his signed document.

Robin was totally doumb-founded to see an amount of $ 20000/ written on the document instead of $ 10000/.

He looked at them with surprise and said very politely, " I have borrowed only $10000/ and not $20000/, I think he has written mistakenly ,he should be pointed out the mistake immediately for correction."

" No, no, no, it is absolutely correct, there is no mistake here. You calculate interest on $20000/ and pay us the balance amount.

Robin said," I am not ready with the extra amount, Whatever amount I had I have given you".

They said ." OK, we will come again after 7 days, keep the amount ready."

Robin immediately went to Jack's house and pointed out the mistake. Jack pretended as if he was extremely busy, therefore, he had no time to talk to him, still he managed to come just for one minute and said," No, no Robin what I have written in the paper is not wrong, I have mentioned exactly the amount yoy had taken." and hurriedly went inside

It was very clear to Robin that he has been cheated clearly in a big way and that was the reason why he had asked him to sign on a white paper. Jack took full advantage of his simplicity and his closeness to him.

Robin felt that the entire Hell crashed on him. He started thinking how can he pay interest on a double amount,and particularly on the amount which he had not taken at all. He had invested only $10000/ and the shop will produce profit to that extent only, so, can he generate so much interest and where he will pay the principal from.

Robin came home and sat silently, his wife understood the entire thing. She also became very worried.

She prepared a cup of coffee and gave him, he was sipping the coffee and constantly thinking how he would pay the extra interest and principal every month. However,

Some how he managed to pay the remaining amount that month.

But next month he could not arrange the total amount. On time Jack's men came, when Robin told them his actual situation, they said, " Uncle don't play with us, we want full amount on date, this is the first time, we are going back, we are not taking the money, tell us correctly when we should come again, but we want full payment then, we will not accept any excuses."

Robin told them to come after 10 days, They said, " OK, after 10 days but that will be the last time we will take the amount belatedly, you should this in mind."
