Chapter 32: The Glowing Orb

When that question has been asked of the fallen vampires, they started attacking Gwen recklessly. As they recklessly attack her, Gwen could easily see their moves. She even clicked her tongue in annoyance because she thought even fallen vampires could still have their skills of being a vampire but she was disappointed.

"This is nonsense." Gwen muttered to herself as she dodged their attacks first since it was easily can be read.

Gwen easily dodged their attack since in her eyes they moved too slowly and being reckless, she could see where their next move was going to be. She dodged and blocked them easily which angered the remaining fallen vampires before her.

"Let's end this." Gwen lowly whispered in her cold voice but imperious which made the fallen vampires to shiver and angrily charged at her.

The second fallen vampire gave Gwen a quick strike of punches and kicks but she easily dodged and blocked them. With that contact with her, Gwen easily caught its knuckle and hold it firmly. It tried to break from her tight grip but nothing happened. the other fallen vampires tried to help the other but Gwen won't let them because she lifted herself as she jumped over the fallen vampire that she was holding tightly. The fallen vampire groaned in pain because its arm suddenly twisted and Gwen took the liberty to pierce her sword over its back. She released its knuckle and quickly pierced the other sword in the same spot behind the fallen vampire.

"This is for messing with me." Gwen whispered to the groaning fallen vampire before she snapped her fingertips. The second fallen vampire instantly froze on its ground before Gwen pulled out her two swords from its back then it shuttered like any fragile broken glass. It was dead with no blood and slowly turned into dust.

Then Gwen quickly faced the third fallen vampire as she appeared surprisingly before it. She was expressing nothing until she swing her swords in crossed motion to behead it before ripping its heart off from its body. When her two swords were no longer touching its body, the third fallen vampire suddenly burst into flames.

"Your turn." Gwen sounded like a sinister monster but she was not. She was expressing nothing and her voice was deep and imperious.

The last remaining fallen vampire rogue was the one who received her fatal attack that caused a very deep and tormenting wound. Gwen pierced her two swords over its rib cage managing to break the bones from within. She didn't stop there.

"You've just awakened something that you shouldn't. Now, look what have you done." Gwen muttered to the fallen vampire's hearing. It immediately looked horrified at her and tried to break free from her swords.

Gwen shook her head and as her two swords pierced over its body gone deeply, the more it tried to move away from it. She twitched the two swords so they won't escape from their grip. It was very tormenting that the fallen vampire rogue wishes to never cross in the first place. The tormenting gesture from Gwen made the fallen vampire rogue groan loudly. And she twisted the two swords directing it upward to hit its heart as she intends to.

"Like I said and I'm going to repeat, you awakened something you shouldn't." Gwen sighed heavily before she let go of her two swords and they instantly vanished.

Then Gwen raised her both hands just at the right level of her shoulders and it one clap of her hands, the strong electrifying wave exploded that automatically cleansing everything it touched. Slavica and her team were witnessing something remarkable and promising and it was residing over Gwen.

"Gwen." Slavica called her name and when she turned to face them, her white orbs turned back to their usual.

"Yes?" Gwen looked questionably at her. Slavica just shook her head and gave a reassuring smile that made Gwen smile in return.

"Care to tell on how you feel when you deal with them alone?" Slavica carefully asked Gwen who sighed in disappointment. It made them snicker but at the same time wonder.

"Disappointing." She replied while pouting.

"On which part?" Yui wondered which part she was disappointed in.

"I thought even they turned into a fallen state, they were still the vampire that they were supposed to be." Gwen answered as she moved her hand as if she was holding a ball over her chest.

"What do you think a vampire should have?" Irina asked curiously.

"Quick movement and sensitivity to their surroundings. If blessed with unique powers, why it was not happening to the fallen ones?" Gwen just answered as she explained what she hoped for.

"We're not sure about that either but from what I've learned, not every fallen rogue managed to keep their gifts after they fall. While some still do and still have their sanity and control with their fallen side." Irina was the one who answered since Slavica was carefully studying Gwen's aura ever since she saw those white eyes. She was trying to recall something that she heard from one of the DIP founders.

"Ohh…so, they were one of those who lost their skills and sanity." Gwen nodded as Irina briefly explained what she only knew about it.

"Indeed, the only thing that they could use was their compulsion since it was already given to the vampires. Some were weak and some were strong." Yui added as she linked her arms around her mate beside her.

As that conversation slowly died down, Gwen was still playing with her hands which were already forming an energy ball that Slavica took notice of. Then when Gwen felt contented with what she just did there, she just tosses it up and lets it float up to the sky. When it reached it certain high, it exploded and released a cloud of sparkling dust that made the ruined ground went back to having grass, and the broken trees around started to have moss while the others started to be reborn again.

"Wow." Yui and Tucker reacted at the same time which made Gwen smile like an innocent child.

Seeing that sight, Slavica can't help but be happy as if she found something that she didn't want to lose at all costs. But there was something she needed to hear directly from Gwen after what just happened there.

"Gwen, do you know what just happened to you?" Slavica finally decided to directly ask Gwen about what just happened there.

"What do you mean?" Gwen wondered what Slavica was trying to say to her.

"Hm, you're still looking the same but your eyes seem to change. It was pure white and it was glowing as if it was blinding whoever stared at them." Irina was the one who answered before Slavica could do it.

"And you even said that 'you awakened something you shouldn't' which made us think that it was your supernatural side." Tucker added when he recalled what Gwen just said to those fallen vampire rogues.

"Vica?" Gwen turned to Slavica as if she wanted to confirm something.

"It's true. You said those words and you don't have any recollection of it?" Slavica nodded and wondered if she had forgotten about it.

"I do remember it…but I am not sure exactly what just happened. All I could remember was that I know what to do and my body started moving. The energy flow around me was totally clear. I mean, it was so damn clear to the point that I could tell which was good or bad energy flow around me." Gwen honestly cleared to Slavica what just happened to her.

Slavica just nodded and with a silence that was building as soon as that conversation was being dropped, she clapped her hands.

"Let's go back to the cabin." Slavica said to them and they all agreed at the same time, Gwen's stomach began to complain and it was loud.

"Oh! Sorry." Gwen blushed as she apologized which they chuckled and waved it off.

"It's okay; I prepared something to eat while I'm at the cabin." Yui said on behalf of their team because they all understood what Gwen was feeling. They all felt it whenever they went all out on their task.

When they got back to the cabin, Slavica went to grab her phone and started calling someone directly. She smiled and went to the basement for private conversations while the team with Gwen, they started on preparing the table where they could eat.

"Gwen can you tell me something…" Irina pulled Gwen to the backyard patio and she whispered those words to her.

"Sure, what is it?" Gwen wondered what Irina wanted to know from her.

"I'm just wondering if you already chose without mentioning it to anyone of us?" Irina curiously asked making Gwen smile and nodded.

"You noticed which I think that's the reason why Slavica went downstairs." Gwen said with a smile on her lips.

"And can I know them?" Irina carefully asked since she doesn't want to sound like she was prying.

"Yes, Irina. I'm coming with you guys. Plus, I've got the feeling that I can't be away from Slavica anymore." Gwen chuckled and nudged Irina's shoulder with hers.

"You're mates." She chuckled and Gwen knew that already.

"Well, we're fated to be together. My biological mother told me about it. We're going to meet in whatever circumstance it might be." She said what she has learned from her meeting her mother from her meditation.

"Speaking of your mother, did you finally have her name?" Irina changed the subject when she heard Gwen mentioning her biological mother.

"Oh, I still don't." Gwen's widened from what she missed when her mother already came to her earlier while they were cleansing before the ruckus happened.

"Okay, maybe when you rest later you will learn it. It will help you in the process of learning about your growing power residing inside of you." Irina assured her and Gwen nodded in understanding.

"I hope so." She hoped.

Both of them went back inside the cabin when Gwen suddenly felt something wrapped around her ankle that prevented her from entering the cabin again. Irina took notice of that and looked wondered why Gwen suddenly stopped in her tracks.

"Gwen?" Irina wondered while looking in Gwen's direction.

Gwen looked puzzled but she just took a deep breath before releasing them slowly. She does it a couple of times and when her lungs expanded with every breathing she does, she managed to hold them. When she opened her eyes it was once again white and she looked around, particularly over her ankle.

"What do they want from me this time?" Gwen muttered to herself but it was clear enough for Irina to hear them.

"Gwen, are you alright?" Irina asked carefully but she didn't approach Gwen. She was just being cautious that if she approached her something might happen to Gwen. She doesn't like that idea at all.

"Irina, who are the founders of DIP?" Gwen suddenly asked.

"I never met them in person but Slavica does since she was the first one who was being recruited as an elite of DIP. Why? What's wrong?" Irina honestly answered what she knew about them and wondered why she asked.

"Nothing was bad but one of them was heading this way and it was already preventing me from entering the cabin." Gwen just shrugged her shoulders and didn't move from her spot. She just calmly stood there.

"You can tell?" she wondered and Gwen nodded.

"I could tell the energy around my ankle was not from anyone of you." She briefly explained it.

"Was it painful?" she worriedly asked which made Gwen to chuckle slightly.

"It was not hurting me but if I resist, I might end up losing my left foot." She honestly answered that making Irina nod.

"Oh, I'll call Slavica." Irina decided to call their leader because she was the only one who can talk directly to the founders if ever they come to their cabin like what Gwen was saying.

"Okay. I'll just wait here and please, bring me food. I'm starving." Gwen recalled her food.

"Noted." Irina chuckled and went inside to call Slavica as well getting Gwen's food.

When Gwen was being left alone on the backyard patio, she let herself sit on the wooden flooring of the patio and looked at the woods. She smiled at how peaceful it was again. She felt light and happy seeing a majestic view because butterflies and fireflies were flying around the restored grassy ground. Even the flock of birds came back to the trees and she began on seeing a couple of dears around.

"It's a serene sight." Gwen muttered to herself. She loves the calming vibe that the scenery was giving to her.

As she was enjoying the view before her, something began to flicker somewhere among the fireflies. It was glowing like the others but the way it glows was different from the rest of the fireflies. It was getting brighter as if it was rushing toward her spot. Gwen found herself not being afraid of it. Instead, she just sat there and waited for it to come to her. She just waited until it finally does stop in front of her.

"Speak, who are you?" Gwen used her commanding voice that made the glowing orb go into its brighter glow.

'You had it in you but choose not to use it?'

"I asked first and I tell you if you answered me first." She asked in her firm voice which made the orb chuckle.

'Clever. Conviction. Firmness. Weak but strong. I'm Wilma and this orb was one of my familiar among the firefly fairies.'

"Wilma…sound familiar…are you Wilma Ghigau from the amazon shaman tribe?" she guessed making the glowing orb change its color from faint white to faint yellow. Gwen took it as a yes.
