Chapter 48: The Identity Change

Wilma was totally amused by the sudden ecstatic reaction that Gwen was showing to her. It's been a while since the last time she saw a very genuine reaction toward someone around the supernatural realm they were living at.

"You really a curious cat like what they say." Wilma chuckled in amusement.

"Whose they?" Gwen wondered who are those people.

"Your adoptive parents." she answered while smiling.

"Of course, it's them." Gwen just sighed but smiled.

"I know right? Now, go and rest. Slavica was waiting for you at the cafeteria." Wilma insisted and even let her know that Slavica was still waiting for her return.

Just upon hearing Slavica's name, Gwen felt warm all over her body and started stretching and gave Wilma a tight hug. Wilma was surprised but she let it be and returned it before she ushered Gwen to go on her way.

When Gwen was about to leave the realm that Wilam created, the same huge elk gave her a nudge to her side. She smiled and petted it as a sign of their bond before leaving. She just closed her eyes and when she suddenly came, she screamed.

"Ops!" Slavica reacted when Gwen suddenly appeared in her arms.

"Did I just fall from the ceiling?" Gwen asked in surprise because earlier she just pass through the wall and now she just passed the ceiling.

"Seems like it." She answered not knowing what to ask her.

"I heard from Wilma that you've been waiting for me." Gwen was caressing Slavica's neck while she was still being carried by her.

"Yeah, I'm always waiting for you and you came falling into my arms." She teased making Gwen playfully slap her chest.

"Well, it happened. So, aren't you gonna put me down? You know that I could still walk." Gwen said as she was trying to hide the fact that she was blushing already. Slavica chuckled and shook her head before readjusting her hold on Gwen.

"I'd rather hold you closer like this. Plus, going to sleep in one room." Slavica winked at her.

"WHAT?!" Gwen shouted which hurts Slavica's hearing a little but she was smirking.

"You don't like it?" she faked hurt when Gwen reacted like that.

"It's not like that…" she calmed herself when she saw her hurt reaction.

"Then let's go and check it out." Slavica run in a flash and it didn't give any time for Gwen to protest.

There was a quick wind passed the hall that Gwen couldn't open her eyes wide before it hurts her eyes until they stopped in front of a certain door. The door was releasing a different kind of energy that familiar to Gwen. The door opened when Slavica went closer to it and inside revealed a very huge room. Gwen gasped at how big it was but something made her feel sad all of the sudden.

"Two beds…okay…" Gwen sounded upset as Slavica put her down.

"Why sounded upset?" Gwen didn't answer when Slavica asked her that.

"Wait a minute…are you expecting that we're going to sleep in one bed? Is that what you were thinking, my love?" Slavica was trying to tease Gwen who stopped in her tracks looking around the room and blushed.

"WHAT?! OF COURSE, I DO THINK OF IT! I EVEN EXPECT OF SLEEPING BESIDE YOU EVER SINCE IN THE HOSPITAL BED!" but instead of being embarrassed, she shouted madly at Slavica. Slavica was totally jolted by the sudden burst of her lover.

"Woah, relax, my love. I could arrange that. I could ask for a double king-size bed if you want." Her voice even started panicking when she didn't know her attempt on teasing her will just make her mad.

"NO NEED! I'LL TAKE THE ONE CLOSE TO THE WINDOW!" Gwen was still blushing and shouting at her. She was totally a mess right now. She was embarrassed.

"But that's my bed…" Slavica muttered which made Gwen glare at her.

"Are you saying anything?" she dared that making Slavica gulp.

"Nope. Nothing at all…ahm…do you still want the double king-size bed or just the queen-size one?" she shook her head and asked carefully about a new set of beds for them to use.

"Queen. The smallest size of the queen size bed." Gwen's back was already facing Slavica because she was totally feeling bad about making Slavica worry too much and it was just because of the bed.

"Is there anything like that?" Slavica lowly whispered that Gwen caught.

"Are you saying anything?" she sounded pissed that made Slavica jolted.

"Nothing, my love." She just said thinking about what to do to make up with her.

"Good, I'll be in the bathroom, ALONE!" Gwen went to the bathroom and slammed the door.

"Gosh, she's pissed off." Slavica sadly sighed and went on making a call for a new set of beds for them to use.

But behind the closed door of the bathroom suite, Gwen was already on the floor covering her face with her hands. She was trying to calm herself down from what just happened there and she even let out a groan.

'Are you okay there, my love?'

"Yes, I'm fine. Don't worry much." Gwen heard a knock and a worried tone behind the closed door of the bathroom suite.

'If you say so…'

"But I know you do even if you don't do anything bad…how can I explain it to her?" Gwen sighed upon hearing the sad and worried tone in her voice. She sighed once again before facing the vanity mirror.

"Seriously, Gwen, what's gotten into you?" she asked herself before wetting her face and starting on doing her usual routine in the bathroom.

Meanwhile, Slavica was being laughed at by Tucker when she went on telling him what made her change the bed all of the sudden. But when Tucker patted her back and showed his two thumbs up, Slavica throw him the pillow but he closed the door already. His laughter was still echoing in the hall even behind the closed door.

"What should I do to please, my love?" Slavica thought deeply as she decided to sit by the window and looked deeply at the moonlight glow shining in the night sky.

"What can I do for her…what can I possibly make her stay in love with me?" she muttered while thinking so many things which made her sigh because she realized that she has nothing.

"I don't have anything to give but I'm willing to give her something…something comes sincerely from my heart…" Slavica was thinking deeply that she didn't even realize that Gwen was already done using the bathroom when she feel a tap on her shoulder.

"Sorry to interrupt your thinking but you can use the bathroom now." Gwen was a bit shy when she said those words to Slavica. She was not sure what to tell her but that's all she could say for now.

"Oh, okay…you can rest now." Slavica only managed to say while smiling since she too, didn't know what to say after what just happened there. Then she excused herself and went to the bathroom to take a relaxing shower.

As the night went on with no words having been exchanged ever since the bed issue happened, Slavica watched the sleeping Gwen on the bed. She was sleeping peacefully while holding something that made Slavica smile.

"So that's where my coat went to." Slavica slightly chuckled because she found Gwen so cute and wonderful at the same time.

"Your my angel. My wonderful bright star. I love you." She muttered while watching Gwen sleeps at ease which made her gently caress her hair.

"To be honest, you're the first person who made me feel that I can do better. You made me believe in what I can do. You made me feel of wanting to share and give love to others; the need to give my love to you. You're the first person who made me feel like risking because you are worthy of it. I know that I want to do something for you, but what?" She confessed and still wondered what she could do for the person that she ever love.

Slavica went through the window again before looking deeply into the glow of the moon in the night sky. She was praying about what to give until something hits her mind and found herself confused but she smirked.

"I think I can do that…but I have to prepare for it." Slavica said and decided to retire for that night. She was willing to give a shot to whatever suddenly she thought about.

When the night passed and another day woke up Gwen from her relaxing slumber, she found herself being alone in bed. She was sad because she was expecting Slavica to be there besides but instead of being upset, she glows up when a letter was found on the beside the table.

Sorry if didn't wake up from your sleep, you're very beautiful and I can't help but admire how peacefully you sleep. I'll be doing my rounds around the perimeter and reporting to the founders which you'll be meeting after your breakfast. I'll see you around, my love. I love you.

As she read the message, she smiled and get ready herself since she was indeed going to meet the founders for some introduction to being a certified member of the DIP. But she was not sure if she was indeed already a certified member because she was still not handling anything except the sudden case yesterday.

"Oh well, let's get on with it." Gwen said and dashed to the bathroom to get ready herself.

At the cafeteria, Gwen was immediately called by her teammates and friends at their usual table. Everything was prepared which made her look at them but they just smiled and greeted her morning. They were having a nice chat while eating when a black cat with mauve eyes came and lay down on Gwen's lap.

"Is that yours?" Yui asked because the cat seems to know her.

"Nope. I had never had a pet that I could say that I own." Gwen shook her head but still pet the cat.

"Have you even realized that it has two tails, meaning it's a beast?" Irina pointed out the two tails that the black cat does have.

"Now that you mentioned it…it does but why come to me then?" Gwen looked at it and confirmed yet wondered why it comes to her.

"Who knows maybe somebody owns it." Tucker just said which made Gwen look at it.

Just in a few minutes, they were done with their breakfast, Yui decided to go to the security team since it was her forte while Tucker joined the training combat because he said that he needed some pumping exercises. He even flexed his muscles which earned a smack on the back of his head from Yui. As for Irina, she'll be with Celene because she was learning some medical practices.

"So, let's go and meet them." Gwen said and went to the office while the black cat followed her like a loyal companion.

When she reached the DIP founders' office, she gave a knock but before her hand could even reach the knob, it suddenly opened for her. She was wondering what just happened and when she entered the office, the door automatically slammed and she sighed.

"So, vampires love darkness?" Gwen said activating her blue eyes again so she could sit on the couch across the desk of Mina.

"No, I just could see properly that way." Mina chuckled and waved her hands to make things a little bright for them.

"So, you asked me to come and meet you about something…" Gwen smiled and started to get into the chase.

"Right, I'm just going to give a short briefing about being a member of the DIP." Mina started.

"Okay, I'm all ears." Gwen nodded and was ready to listen to what she was going to say.

"Good, I bet you already heard from Slavica what we are but I'm going to give you something to change in your identity because, in human society, you are in a severe and close to-death state after what happened to you at the orphanage." Mina seriously started her briefing Gwen nodded as she recalled the event at the hospital and what Slavica told her already.

"Since you already decided to work with us, your identity in human society will be gone, meaning you're dead. So, if you are willing to walk again in human society, your name will be changed." Mina watched Gwen's expression carefully and nodded.

"Do the other humans that I'm acquainted could be able recognized me even if I changed my name?" Gwen asked in a curious manner.

"Your face could be like a twin, look-a-like, or if totally desire to change everything, there's a lifetime whole appearance magic. Through it, your appearance to others will be different but not to us. So, which one do you prefer?" Mina offered and let Gwen decide for herself since she'll be the one who was going to use it.

"Change all. It's much easier that way." Gwen answered that it was totally flexible to her case.

"Okay, here's your new name, your suit that can be only worn if working, and go to Alysia, she'll be the one who's going to give you a lifetime whole appearance magic." Mina smiled at her decision and handed her a set of magical black suits that only DIP members could wear and use. Then she directs Gwen to visit Alysia for a lifetime of whole appearance magic.

As their conversation was quickly done, Gwen was about to excuse herself when she felt something on her feet that made her ask Mina about it.

"Ahm, Mina can I ask something…" Gwen carefully wondered and Mina noticed it.

"Sure what is it?" she let Gwen ask her.

"Do you happen to own a cat beast?" Gwen dropped the question that made Mina look puzzled at her.
