Chapter 49: The New Identity

"Cat beast?" Mina wondered but she stared at Gwen deeply.

Mina give Gwen a very serious look in her eyes and it was piercing as if she was trying to read her. Others might be already under the influence of her compulsion but Gwen wasn't being affected by it at all.

"Here." Gwen picked up the cat who was on her feet purring and showed it to Mina.

"It suddenly came to me and it's been following me when I go here." She continued then Mina smiled on seeing the black cat.

"So that's where you went." Mina chuckled when she recognized the black cat that Gwen showed her.

"You know this cat?" Gwen asked but Mina shook her head while smiling.

"Yes, but I don't own it. Vampire witches mostly had their own cats as their guardians." Mina answered and briefly explained to her about it.

"Vampire Witches? Sounded like a hybrid to me." Gwen had never heard that call before that's why she reacted like that.

"No, a vampire that has magical powers." Mina shook her head as she chuckled before petting the black cat on her desk. It was just sniffing around before jumping back to Gwen's lap.

"Ohh, I think I've read some fictional stories about vampires like that." Gwen recalled a novel that had that kind of vampire which made her easily understand them.

There were a few minutes of silence and Mina was just staring at her while smiling and it was making Gwen think deeply. She was thinking about what Mina was trying to say to her there until she recalled about the black cat had suddenly grown attached to her. She looked at Mina then back to the cat then again, back to Mina.

"Wait, are you telling me that I'm…" Gwen was about to conclude something but Mina already caught what she was about to say.

"No silly, your not a vampire or a witch but because of your bloodline of being an amazon-shaman who was good at taming wild beasts, that's why it was following you." Mina chuckled but clear it for Gwen's understanding. Gwen was trying to make sense of what Mina was telling her about the reason why the black cat keeps following and attached to her.

"Tell me, when you meet Wilma in her office, did something happen to like something was being respectful to you on your first meeting?" Mina added as she asked Gwen about something that happened to Wilma's created realm.

"Hmm…oh yeah, the huge and mighty elk." Gwen recalled her meeting the huge elk at Wilma's created realm for them.

"The king of Elk herd, did it bow or kneeled?" she curiously asked Gwen.

"Kneeled, why?" she wondered what Mina was trying to point at.

"That's your familiar and seems to me you earn also a cat beast." Mina concluded what she had just received in a short period of time of staying at the DIP quarters.

"Meaning?" she still wanted to know the connection of it to hers.

"That's the effect of your taming ability yesterday." Mina pointed to her and it put her into her thoughts.

Gwen was carefully trying to let that information sink inside her mind and when she looked over at the black cat, it looked back at her. As if it sensed that she was wondering about something and the more she started at the black cat, she began to connect the dots between everything that had happened to her and what Mina just told her.

"I already awakened many times in a short period of time…I could tame fallen rogues…I easily could see the energy flowing around me…I could tell which fallen rogues to save and give chance to change for the better…then I could take every thing to the last drop of their energy forces and turn them into an orb…now this…elk and the black cat…" Gwen mumbled but it was clear enough for Mina to hear them clearly. Mina was smiling.

"So, what do you think that's happening to you?" Mina wondered what Gwen was thinking about the changes that has been happening to her lately.

"Wilma told me that I might be inheriting what she can do." Gwen informed which made Mina's smile turned to a grin. She was excited to see what Gwen will turn into one day.

"Then you're a promising one. A chosen one. You have to keep polishing the gift that is blessed upon you. We're going to help you with it just is patient on cultivating them." Mina told her and even gave her advise that she could use along the way.

"Yes, I will, and thank you." She smiled as she thanked Mina.

"Go now and pay Alysia a visit." Mina shooed her since she was already taking her time talking with each other. She really needed to head and meet Alysia for her lifetime magical physical appearance change.

"Where's her office?" Gwen wondered since she doesn't know where it was.

"You'll know once you needed her." Mina only told her how can she find Alysia's whereabouts.

"Ohh…okay? I'll deal with it on the way." Gwen was a little confused but just get over it and get up from her sea. She was about to head outside the office when Mina spoke again.

"Again, welcome to DIP." Mina welcomed her again.

"My pleasure." Gwen smiled and respectfully bowed to her before leaving the office.

"Now, let's look for Alys." Gwen muttered to herself as she didn't mind that the black cat still following her.

Gwen was looking around and with each turn that she made, she could not find Alysia's office. She even asked some DIP members and they were saying different spots that she checked. She groaned as she was confused as to where to find her office. She was about to give up when she recall what Mina had told her before she left.

'You'll know once you needed her.'

"What does she mean about 'once I needed her'?" Gwen wondered and the more she tried to answer that question in her mind, her cat beside her feet suddenly meowed.

"Do you know where her office was located?" she asked which made her chuckle.

"As if you could answer me." She sighed in defeat before she looked over the opened window in the hallway where she was. Every hallway looked the same for her until she took a deep breath of the nice breeze.

"Wait, a minute…Alys was just like Wilma in some aspects…they were both close to nature. Wilma was so close to nature while Alys used the energy from nature…elements…" Gwen muttered to herself she suddenly thought about how can she find Alysia's office.

'You'll know once you needed her.'

Gwen went back in her tracks and this time she used her blue eyes to locate the only energy that came from Alysia. She knew her energy flow and when she found herself smiling, she began following the energy flow until she stops her tracks in the garden part of the DIP mansion's quarter.

"Finally, found you." Gwen sighed happily when she finally saw Alysia sitting under a cherry blossom tree that looked alive - some of its branches were moving and expanding or letting its flowers blossom.

"Indeed you do. Glad you made it to my real office." Alysia smiled as she closed the book that she was reading.

"So this is the real one?" she looked around and she loves the pleasing aura lurking around the place.

"You heard me right, so, Mina told me about your decision and I prepared it for you. So, here, just drink it then say 'pulchra me'." Alysia handed her a culture tube that was containing some multicolor liquid.

"Okay…bottoms up." Gwen took a deep breath before drinking what was inside the culture tube.

"Pulchra Me." she followed up as soon as she swallowed them.

"Feel anything?" Alysia wanted to make sure that Gwen was feeling alright after drinking a lifetime potion.

"It tastes nothing" Gwen just answered before giving back the empty culture tube.

"It should be like that." She smiled at her as she put back the empty tube into her bag beside her.

"But what does it mean?" Gwen wondered what the 'pulchra me' means.

"What? Beautiful Me?" she wanted to make sure it was the thing that Gwen wanted to know about.

"So that's the meaning of it…" she nodded in understanding.

"That's the translation of it." Alysia chuckled and corrected her instead.

"Oh…so, how do I look like?" Gwen reacted before asking.

"Hmm, to us you're the same but I am not sure on what you will look like to the other creatures you're going to encounter." She answered clearly.

"What do you mean?" Gwen was in her curious cat mode again.

"Beautiful Me might be sounded positive but it depends on the person or creature who drank it." Alysia smiled on her curious side and gave her a clear answer to it.

"Meaning, if they don't have a good side, they'll be hideous?" she made her own guess.

"Not exactly like that, Gwen." Alysia started clearing it out for her.

"It means the reflection of the beauty of the heart and soul of the person or the creature itself." She briefly cleared to Gwen what the potion really does.

"Oh…can this help Slavica?" she wondered.

"Slavica doesn't need it because she's already accepted who she is from the past and now." Alysia answered honestly.

"Then why I do need it?" she wondered again which made Alysia to chuckled over her curiousness over something that caught her interest.

"For our safety, especially you and those people around you that had no idea of what you have become now." She briefly explained which made Alysia nod.

"Oh, so I'm really dead to them." She recalled what Mina told her earlier.

"Sadly, it will be like that. Just think of it as being reincarnated into another body yet still feel the same or something like that." Alysia made things light for Gwen's conscience by leaving those people that she cares about behind. But she has to, just to keep them safe from monsters that only appeared in their bedtime stories or nightmares.

"Easier to think that way." Gwen agreed.

"So, have you read your new name?" Alysia wondered what Gwen's new name was even though she already knew about it. She still asked so Gwen will read them now.

"Oh not yet…I hope it's good to the ears." Gwen chuckled as she untied the scroll that was inserted into her dark uniform.

"Hahaha, funny. C'mon, let's see what Mina prepared for your new name to be used since you're reborn in DIP's care." Alysia ushered her to check it out already.

"Okay, here it goes…" Gwen sighed and nodded then opened the scroll. It revealed the certification of her new identity to DIP and was a certified member of their organization already.

"Well, we already prepared them ever since Wilma sensed you were coming into our realm. It's also magical when you rank up, it will change as well." Alysia smiled as she briefly explained to her about her ID card.

"Hm, is there any badge since we're also working for the government right?" Gwen wondered since the government police have their badges to show than the name since it was already on the uniform.

"About that…we're still discussing the DIP's symbol. As you can see we are only known in black clothing but there's no symbol yet. Sometimes were being accused of being the mobster in the area." Alysia sighed when she recalled that moment and Gwen chuckled as she imagine that kind of encounter they'd gone through.

"Then you have to come up with something." Gwen smiled as she patted Alysia's shoulder.

"We're on it. We're just preoccupied with some awakening around in different towns or cities. It was not just you but I could be guaranteed that you're more powerful than them." She nodded and looked up at the falling cherry blossoms around them.

"I know. Don't worry, I'll tell the other founders about your concern. So, is there anything else?" Alysia wondered that making Gwen think for a moment.

"Oh, nothing as for now…maybe I need something to do." She shook her head before sighing since she don't have anything to do yet.

"Hmm, I think Mina is preparing a new task for you but for now, while waiting, I think you have to check on Wilma since you're a tamer." she suggested that making Gwen recall what Wilma told her last time they met.

"Oh right, I remember. She's going to teach me how to cultivate the orbs that I absorb yesterday." She smiled excitedly and get up from sitting on the earthly ground beside Alysia.

"Then, I won't keep you for long. Off you go, Sabina." Alysia waved her hand as she even addressed her by her new name.

"I better get used to that." Gwen chuckled.

"You can use it inside and out but mostly out of the DIP quarters." She said but Gwen shook her head.

"Still, I need to get used to that name." she insisted on getting used to it now than later.

"If you insist. Go now." she chuckled and ushered her to go on her way.

"Okay, later." Gwen nodded and waved her hand before running back inside the DIP mansion.
