Getting back inside, Gwen immediately closed her eyes and concentrated to locate where Wilma's created realm was again. Before it was just at the dead-end part of the mansion and yet, falling down from the ceiling when she left the created realm.
"Where is it again?" Gwen muttered to herself as she let her blue eyes look around the space to each hall that she walked through.
"That's odd…" she wondered when she sensed something moving around the mansion's energy flow.
Gwen began checking it out when she suddenly felt the black cat beside her stopped from moving and it was fully alerted. She could see its fur was all up and it was staring in one direction before hissing in anger but defensive mode.
"What's gotten into you?" Gwen muttered to herself and then she looked over the same spot where the cat was hissing in defensive anger.
Gwen readjust what she was seeing around the energy flow of the mansion until something flickered that made her close her eyes immediately. She clicked her tongue because it was like something just exploded from there and with her energy, she cloaked herself as well the black cat beside her.
"I better check it out." Gwen said to herself and when she got close to a certain spot in the hallway again, she placed her hand as if she was looking for something behind it. Then in a few more touches, her hand passed through it. She smirked and entered.
But inside something she was not expecting at all.
Everything was in the field of smoke, darkness, and flames. Gwen was not sure if the flame was a good one or the bad one but the more she looked at them, they were not burning anything that it touches.
"That's odd." Gwen muttered to herself and when she looked around the place, it was slowly going back to its usual tranquility.
"What happens here?" Gwen asked as soon as the sight cleared up and she saw Wilma tending a wounded centaur lady with a dragon scale.
"Oh, you're here." Wilma reacted when she glanced at where Gwen was coming from.
"Wilma, what happened? I saw darkness, smoke, and flames…that?" Gwen worriedly asked before she pointed a look over the wounded creature in front of Wilma.
"Oh, nothing to worry about. I'm paying a visit to each beastly realm and when I went to the centaur realm, it was there. It was held captive and tortured by its kind because of being a mixed breed. They sold it to me when I told them I'm interested in taking care of it." Wilma was still tending the wounds of the creature before her while she explained about gaining a new creature to tame.
"What?! That's too much." Gwen didn't like what she just heard there. She took pity on the wounded creature.
"Don't worry, but to be honest, at first it didn't want to come with me but I told it that it was the only way to get out from being captive. I offered it a place to recover and to be trained but honestly, Gwen, it was a fast learner." Wilma understood the sympathy that Gwen was having for the creature that's why it was fine to let Gwen enter her created realm. But Gwen's reaction over mentioning being a fast learner, she gave a puzzled look at Wilma.
"I think it got it from its mother who was a centaur and the mightiness of its built because the scales were from its father." Wilma cleared it for her.
"Speaking of, how about its parents?" she wondered about its parents' whereabouts but Wilma sighed and the creature looked sad.
"Mother died giving birth to her and its father was put in exile because of mating with a different race." Wilma just give her the answer she needed to hear but Gwen snapped.
"WHAT THE FUCK! THEY WERE HAVING ISSUES WITH DIFFERENT RACES?!" Gwen frustratedly shouted that making the wounded creature whine in fear which made Wilma slap Gwen's arm. She even glared at her.
"Easy there, Gwen. you're scaring her and it was still an issue till now. It was not easy to change things but it will soon." Wilma told her and when Gwen saw the frightened reaction of the creature she calmed herself as much as she could.
"I heard from Celene, someone in her bloodline will cause the change in all races. Slavica and I must guide that abomination to where it should go." Gwen sighed and told what Celene told them once they'd met at the cafeteria.
"It already began, Gwen and it will come soon. But for now, since it was not the time for that task yet to come and be handled by you and Slavica, come here and help me with her." Wilma nodded but she changed the subject and pulled Gwen to help her tend to the wounded beast before them.
"Fine, but what's her name?" Gwen wondered.
"She doesn't have any…" she answered that making Gwen stopped from wiping its bleeding wound.
"Then, how about Avalyn since it's a lady?" Gwen smiled that making the creature look at her in disbelief.
"Giving a name to a nameless creature had a responsibility to take. Are you prepared for it?" Wilma heard it and noticed the sudden changes around the wounded creature before them. She wanted to make sure that Gwen mean them.
"Even I am not, I'm gonna help it since I'm still in my training. We'll grow together then." Gwen shrugged her shoulders but her genuine smile never left her lips before winking at the creature. The creature's tail began to move as it showed that it likes the name she gave to her.
"Very well then, do you like that name she has given to you?" Wilma asked the creature though she already knew the answer to that. It just nodded its head and looked at Gwen while reaching out her quivering hands. Gwen didn't hesitate and went to her instead of shaking hands, she engulfed the creature with her warm hug.
"Good, now stay still, we're here to help you regain your mighty self. Hopefully, one day, you'll find your mate somewhere." Gwen chuckled because it purred to her and the creature agreed.
Wilma and Gwen were tending the creature in the created realm of Wilma. As they were busy there, Slavica on the other hand was also busy doing her reporting before sending them out to Mina's office.
"Your Highness, I'm here to give you the full report of what we've been handling on and before taking Gwen with us." Slavica entered Mina's office after one knock and didn't mind the darkness of her office at all. She was totally used to it and she could sense Mina's whereabouts within the room before she could even knock on the door.
"Good, also, here's the new task that I am going to give to you and Gwen alone. But it will be classified like what we did to Gwen's case." Mina received the file and handed a new case to Slavica.
"Are we still going to be deployed as a team or not?" she wondered as she received the new case to be handled.
"There will be some team cases which here they are." Mina just answered while reading the report that she handed to her.
"They? How many are they this time?" Slavica wondered about the number of the person or the creature that they were going to deal with this time.
"Don't worry they were not ten like last time. But they were four cases that needed to be handled and the classified case was not added to it." Mina answered while smirking yet not looking at Slavica's reaction which was always cold and blank whenever she was in her work mode.
"Okay, shoot me about them." She was eager to hear what she was about to tell her about them.
"First, I wanted you and your team to scout the area that I wrote there. Make sure it was doable for our organization since we're planning on expanding. In the second case, check the vampire land, the Ciel Nocturne as well the wolf's land, the Singarti. They might be needing some aid with their issues around there. Give them help and medical assistance." She started by telling Slavica briefly about the cases that she handed to her. Slavica was reading them as well.
"Third, you have to recruit these four for the next team to create. Find Janella, Lisabeth, Marian, and Vanessa…but Marian and Vanessa will take you some time to handle them." Mina went on but looked seriously at Slavica.
"Why is that?" Slavica wondered what she was talking about.
"Marian Ibarra, she's a vampire and a chosen queen in their own land in between the boundary of wolves and vampires and human population. But she won't give us an answer about joining the organization due to her mate, a halfling human mate having been through a lot of changes of growing up as a human." Mina gave her brief inputs regarding the two difficult cases that she and Gwen has to handle.
"I bet she won't be joining until her halfling human joined the DIP." Slavica nodded as she looked over the four images that the DIP had with them.
"Yes, that's why I am spreading out the DIP and building headquarters for easy access to the other creatures in different areas." She added to the DIP's plan. They were expanding and it was totally nice idea for them to start something new in their organization.
"That's good and appropriate since the quarters were reaching already their capacity." Slavica chuckled as she pointed out that the mansion's capacity was already reaching its limits.
"That's why we're sending groups to check out the towns and cities. I already let them scout the area where we could build our headquarters there." She sighed but agreed to what Slavica was saying and stated that she already made some scouts around the areas where they planned on expanding.
"So, that's why it will take a while for us to find these four beings which I could bet you want us to train them. Plus, there's Celene's side quest about the 'abomination' that came from her bloodline will stir up some changes at all realms." Slavica added the side quest that Celene asked them since it affects everyone in each realm.
"Yes, I've heard of it and you that's why I let you lurk around between Ciel Nocturne and Singarti since the classified task will be about Celene's side quest. It's the trigger of change." Mina nodded because she was already being informed about that case already. Also, she was already feeling the closeness of the real change that was about to happen soon. They were just preparing the way for that trigger to happen.
"I'll take note of that." Slavica nodded.
"Good, I will summon you if there is something that needs to add or a new case to be dealt with as soon as possible." Mina agreed and added.
"Okay, then excuse me, I'm going to make preparation for it before I could tell the others." Slavica got up from her seat and excused herself.
"Have it your way then." Mina nodded as she went back to reading the report that she handed to her and Slavica left Mina's office.
When Slavica went out from Mina's office, she was about to the cafeteria when one member of the DIP approached her. The member was a lady who had admiration for her and since Slavica was wearing her mask, it was making a mysterious vibe that caught the member an interest in her.
"Ahm, can I have your spare time, Lady Slavica?" the lady asked in her shy voice.
"Make it fast since I'm busy, what is it?" Slavica coldly told the lady who shivered and hurt from her cold voice but it didn't stop her from talking to her.
"Ahm, I just wanted to know when are you going to depart for your next assignment?" the lady was still trying to get Slavica's attention on her since she has a blank expression.
"I am not sure when but soon." She only answered the lady and was about to move when the lady speaks.
"Oh, can I prepare something for you when you leave?" she asked in her shy voice that clicked something in Slavica's ears.
"No need, Irina is our cook, so there's no need for you to do that and you have to focus on your team's case than on me." Slavica looked at her and started reading the lady that was talking to her.
'Oh my gosh, I'm talking to my crush…'
"But, I'm just…" the lady was about to reason with her but Slavica shook her head already.
"I know and I can read you but I'm politely declining your offer." Slavica went blunt on her.
"Alright, here…" the lady nodded warily and handed a box of freshly baked chocolate cookies.
"What is this?" she asked while just looking at the box but not accepting it yet.
"A snack that I just made earlier." the lady shyly answered and started to blush already.
"I see but…no, no…Gwen, it's not what you think!" Slavica was about to decline it again when she sensed Gwen's cold stare at her. When their eyes met it was very cold and something hit her chest.
"Sorry, but I can't. I have my mate." Slavica declined and was about to leave but Gwen was nowhere to be found already. She clicked her tongue in frustration already.
"GWEN!" Slavica shouted as she tried to sense her from where she was but there was emptiness. She couldn't feel her at all.
"Dammit, she blocked me." Slavica groaned that surprising the lady beside her.
"Can she do that?" she wondered.
"She's stronger than anyone else here. She's my equal. See you around." Slavica answered in her cold voice and was about to leave when the lady speaks again.
"Okay, sorry if I'm the reason for her jealousy." She apologized sincerely.
"See yah." Slavica just nodded and run to where she last saw Gwen.
