Teenage Servant

If So Eun was given a chance to choose between riding a horse or a sword. It would be the latter. Well, he can't prove it strongly when he hasn't ridden a horse, but flying with the sword for the first time to travel was a bit troublesome.

It was a successful ride, he grimaced while throwing up beside an apple tree of the Tipolo Palace. He landed smoothly without the power of actually controlling the speed of it and ended up getting muddled, feeling a lump of something building up in his throat.

It was quite quick and refreshing transportation although his mind had been jumbled in the process, at the end, So Eun instead recommended the horse rather than his sword.

Having been tormented enough on his first day, So Eun didn't care if someone saw him vomiting on a Deity's apple tree. Oh, wait! Isn't this his property?

So Eun hasn't had the time to look over but reminded him to face the consequences. Just as he felt the relief of landing safely on the land without breaking a neck, someone called him from behind.

"Your Highness?"

His slim figure flinched and his eyes were slowly widening. He didn't move for a while and that person caught him very suspicious. "You are?"

So Eun slowly turned around and smiled sheepishly.

He saw a teenager clad in frosty white elegant attire. He seemed like one of the servants in this Palace.

"Uhm... A God?" More of like, a question to ask himself at this point.

"You're Our Deity! Oh my god! You came back! Wait, I'm gonna call them to start--" The teenager's eyes swelled up in excitement, he attempted to turn around to go back from where he first entered. So Eun, however, instantly stopped him.

"Wait!"

The young boy also obeyed quickly and turned to look at him. So Eun was suddenly out for words with that look. Making up his mind to look for excuses while the young boy came near him, eyes wandering around and examining him.

"You are Tipolo's Deity! Oh! Have you finished your attendance with the Emperor?" He smiled cheekily, failing to catch the uncertainty on So Eun's face.

So Eun's mind was in shambles, contemplating whether he'd give up and tell him the truth, but that would just add unnecessary misunderstandings. He avoided his eyes intentionally and only realized the words that had been said.

"What attendance?" This time, he looked at the young boy properly, earning a surprised gasp from him.

"Woah! I have never seen a Deity this close! I knew being a servant would fill me a hundred luck!" At that, So Eun didn't know what to say, and he chose to smile it off awkwardly. Is it remarkable to see a Deity up close?

He expected the teenager to cease talking and have a normal distance from this Deity that he seems to admire a lot, but after that joyful praise, he couldn't resist anymore.

"Those bullies would probably envy me! Your Highness! Can I be your attendant? I can do everything you want me to do, to clean, plant trees, manage affairs, everything you can think of. Wow! I can't believe this..." So Eun stepped back and sighed, this is also why he couldn't stand a child for long. Thus, he lifted his right palm towards the young boy, and he unexpectedly stopped talking.

"Am I talking too fast? I am very sorry. Now, I've tainted your first impression of me. What a shame." Then he looked down sadly, hands hiding at his back. So Eun didn't know that attitude could diminish quickly. This child is too peculiar.

He reacted like that because he noticed the Deity took a step backward, but he couldn't blame himself for doing that. He cleared his throat and straightened his posture. Doing a nice wave of hands to dismiss the awkward setting.

"No, it's not that, I was just overwhelmed. Maybe next time, lessen the chats that aren't needed at the first meeting." He smiled warmly, hoping that his manner was showing the friendliest gesture, and not appear like a hard-headed Deity.

That teenager, although having a conversation with a Deity for a few minutes now, couldn't help but stare in awe, his twinkling eyes flickered in his eyelashes. He opened his mouth to speak,

"Thank you for the suggestion, Your Highness!"

So Eun was again speechless, sighing in defeat, and decided to just nod and smile. "Please don't call me Your Highness, and I suppose you're one of the servants, right? Then, may I disturb you with something?"

The young boy's eyes widened, and he aggressively nodded at him. So Eun almost reached out and stopped him from moving his head any further. What's with this child?

"Of course! No problem, I am Dong-Hyun. Welcome to Tipolo Palace!" This time, he bowed too much and too quickly, that So Eun couldn't process what he had just done.

"Okay! Okay, I am So Eun. Thank you, but please don't do that again, I'm afraid you will break something. Even if your joints are still properly functioning and uninjured, don't do excessive movements." He turned around and gestured to the boy to follow him.

"I just wanted to ask some questions. What's with the ceremonial attendance that every Deity needs to attend?" They stopped in front of the small pond, wiggling amounts of delicate koi fishes were freely floating.

"So Eun, you are very lucky that you found me out of all the disciples here because this lowly one sure does know everything about Gods!" So Eun didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

"Yeah?" So Eun replied.

"Yeah! The ceremonial attendance is... well just a plain rite full of reciting prayers and words, that look like you are signing a contract with the Heavens. To acknowledge that you are an Official Deity." So Eun was surprised that he was speaking calmly. The suggestions helped.

He hummed and leisurely placed his left fist on his chin. Absorbed in silence for some time, there was a sudden thought lightened up in his head, and glance at the youth to ask questions again.

However, that teenager spoke too early.

"Wait! Didn't you know? That means you haven't attended the ceremony?" He looked at him in disbelief, appearing like So Eun committed a crime.

Oof, It wasn't supposed to go like that.
