Hides Within the Forsaken Forest - Part 2

So Eun hadn't imagined things would go this way, and at this instant, he did not mean to suddenly blurt out the words to make them go nuts and gave a shot for the evil beings to target them.

And apart from that, it was because when the light appeared before them, So Eun had a compulsion to wield his sword and aim at that certain spot. His innate ability utterly discern something wicked, and coincidentally, ferocious demons aren't reckless enough to assault in an open area, although dead and lacking common sense, this characteristic set them apart from the other ghosts.

Unlike the other wisps of ghouls, they would never kill with malice in front of the cultivators, especially if there was a Divine being.

That is unless no one can see them.

So Eun proceeded to strode ahead, his footsteps deliberately transforming into a sprint, while the servants went stiff from their places. The frigid raindrops cascading to their heads and body.

However, So Eun did not waste a single breath and commanded his sword with his hand, charging straight at Yeonbin.

Without a doubt, Yeonbin perceived the change of mood and his eyebrows came together. The burning fire in his hand shined weakly as if affected by the sudden outburst of spiritual aura.

Yet when So Eun sheathed his sword from its scabbard, and currently, a few steps away from Yeonbin.

The one light that remained had died out.

They were once again engulfed with darkness.

And So Eun did not dare to proceed anymore.

It wasn't that his vision had blacked out that stopped him from advancing further, but more so, because he noticed a glimmer of green inferno flashed from behind and bypassed him.

He didn't have in mind to ask for the other servants to confirm what he saw, and it was likely because they didn't see it at all. Faster than the eyes could see. The green light flared in seconds to plunged onto Yeonbin that causes the fire to died out.

As the heavy rain poured down, the tranquility of the forsaken forest was aggravated to something grim and fierce.

Out of his wits, So Eun mentally praised the Demon King for having to choose this kind of place to set them up. It was indeed commendable of him to gain the title of a Ghost King. The crueler the evil beings that lurk within, the more powerful the spirits they will face.

Hence, the Demon King will gain the upper hand in this conflict.

And as a Deity, they wouldn't naturally let that happen as easily as they attacked them one by one. So Eun had enough of these weaklings who only took hold of the chance to pound sneakily at them, how infuriating!

If they were going to declare war from their side, then fight openly!

He felt the loathed in his heart. This time, So Eun braced himself and gathered his energy to compressed on the hilt of his sword, but before he had the chance to release it, he heard an exclaim that came from the servant's directions.

"Help! They are everywhere! Deity! Yeonbin!!" An adolescent cried out, and the rain had somehow poured even harder, nearly dragging their bodies to kneel down the land.

From then moving forward, So Eun immediately acts on his instincts to save the young ones first, but when he stepped ahead, the second step became difficult to do.

Apart from the ground on their foot that had modified into mud dirt, and become grueling to move, So Eun felt a sudden twinge of pain had plunged his head. His entire being weakened and felt his knees unable to stand upright.

Thus, he was forced to kneel on the dirt. His hands trembled uncontrollably, while his head was once again, in excruciating agony. This was quite the best one, as it felt like shredding his mind and heart into pieces.

It couldn't be the Forsaken Forest had something to do with his past, besides, he doesn't feel anything rather than the tranquil atmosphere of the area and nothing more.

And after the darkness had prevented them to watch, he wasn't sure anymore if they are still in the Forest.

Or, it could only mean one thing.

Someone who can make So Eun endure this intense suffering, was only one person, and that person had come in the middle of the night to join them.
