Overthinking

Overthinking is a serious matter, sometimes people overthink over a matter that is very serious, and overthinking leads to anxieties. Overthinking is thinking for too long or too much. We sometimes overthink about our future, making the right decision, or just the small matters. In my opinion, we overthink a thing because we tend to wonder what is happening in our lives, but for me, it's normal, maybe you are just maturing, but do not take it seriously. When we overthink, our emotional and mental health can be affected, and it can be harmful to us, and it sometimes leads people to commit suicide. People suffering from overthinking are very much thinking about negative things, thinking about their past failures, worried over something, they are traumatized about their past, and it can affect their social life.

I have experienced overthinking when I'm in my college year. I have many what if's in my mind, that what if Engineering is not meant for me because in my first year in college I studied Industrial Engineering and it's hard like you have no rest, you always study very hard to pass all the subjects. Luckily I passed the subjects except for calculus, I felt bad about myself, and I immediately told my mom about it, and she told me that if I had one more failing grade in this subject, I would shift to another course. With that, I overthink. When we went grocery shopping with my mom, my expression is always blank and always down, I know it because I feel like I'm not myself that day and I thought that what if my mom would feel disappointed. When school is almost over, I overthink again if what if Engineering is not for me and all. I have no problem with my mental health because I can control it, and I'm aware of what I'm doing, and I will not do that (overthinking) again, not like that because it's hard for me, and I will suffer.

When I overthink, I would share it with my friends because I know that they can help me, but if you're the kind of person that doesn't like sharing, then it could be hard for you, you should see a Psychologist for that. I always think positively. I think about my mistakes, review, and learn from them. I also tend to think about my future, and I would say, what will be my future, what's there ahead of me.

We sometimes say that there's no pill nor prescription for these types of disorder, but actually, there is.

· Stop worrying and thinking intensely over something because it can damage your mental health which creates problems in your life.

· You are the one who creates problems, and our thoughts can trouble us.

· Just think positive because we don't want us to be unhappy, occupied, and full of thoughts that can break us.

Why would we want that? We only want what's best for us. We must also help ourselves because only we can help and understand ourselves.
