"This class is mandatory, not voluntary," Mrs. Prescott took the heavy book she had in her hand and dropped it on the table. There was a dull thud, so loud that two students in the back rows woke up and startled.

"That goes for you as well, Mr. Walton and Mr. Cavanaugh," she walked to the last row of seats in which Taylor sat. He wore his usual smirk.

Our classroom was so warm after the windows had been opened. The teachers must have stayed late last night, judged by the rage of anger in her voice. Spring had been starting, blossoming the air with cinnamon perfume as it was filled with students coming from outside.
