Slices of Paradise - CH. 24

"Memory is the only paradise no one can drive us out of." - Jean Paul

Night thoughts.

We were up some hill, looking straight ahead, and then up to the sky. The view was incredible; stars filled the sky as if there was hope up there. It was the promise of life that revealed itself in the darkness – it brought a sense of warmth that sprout from the absence of light. It carried a sensation of an eternal space, for just the two of us. As if no matter how many years passed by, this would belong to us.

A couple fireflies flew around the trees and blooms that were around us, making it seem as if it was a late evening, and not an hour of darkness. My parents thought I laid in bed, sleeping, but I never returned home. Jack was never home anyways.

I laid on Taylor's lap, watching the endless sky that reminded me of his ethereal, electric soul and wondered.

How long would he still love me? Did...did he love me?
