Dark Shadows intrigued the calmness of the place. They hungered for dissonance, but the few lights that enlightened the place were enough to make me feel safe. And with him on my side, I was never really scared anyways. Taylor and I were on our way back to the parking space. We had been in a small shop near Caren's house to get some things for a dinner at Derek's. We arrived at the car and I slammed the car door shut. Taylor twisted his key in the car lock. The engine howled. As he started to drive towards the exit, his phone rang. He picked it up and clamped it between his shoulder and ear.

"Derek? Yeah. Yeah Derek, I know we're running late," a frown grew on my face and I earned an eye roll back in response, "we'll be there soon, please just...start setting up."
