My Running Nightmare

Jesse woke up and felt the bed beside him. It felt cold. He sat up and looked around the room. It had to be mid-afternoon judging by the sun. He went to the bathroom and when he went to wash his hands, he saw a note with his name on it. He opened it and smiled. 


 I went out to the beach. I wanted to let you sleep in, but didn't want you to worry when you found I was gone. Come find me if you want. We can have lunch. 


She'd even kissed the letter. He liked that she had left the letter for him. Their honeymoon had officially started last night and things had already improved drastically. For the first time since he'd fallen for Renee, he felt that they would actually work out. 


He got dressed and went out to the beach. He found Renee walking up the beach, her feet just on the edge of the water so it washed over them as the waves came in. She had a sundress on that stopped at her knees. She had her hair put up in a clip.
