When his father turned his back on the family, leaving them to pick up the pieces of their relationship, Nicholas Carter turned to the three people in life he knew would never leave him - his mother, his best friend Aiden and his brother Chris.

Purgatory

"This is the last night you'll spend alone, look me in the eyes so I know you know I'm everywhere you want me to be. The last night you'll spend alone, I'll wrap you in my arms and I won't let go, I'm everything you need me to be." 


The beep sounded again as the call went to voicemail. Nick wasn't picking up. Had he changed his mind about everything? Kyle doubted it. 


Nick wasn't one to make decisions he didn't stand by, despite the amount of time he needed to consider his options. Kyle was glad he'd decided to accept the bond in the end. 


So why wasn't he picking up? Kyle clearly said he'd call tonight. Could he still be with Sylvia? 


He left his room and found Aiden on his bed and talking happily on the phone. 


"Is that Sylvia?" He mouthed the question and Aiden nodded with a grin. 


Kyle hesitated, then nodded, and took the phone from Aiden.
