"What do you mean you can't find him?! It's been three days! He never leaves the castle unless it's for a mission!" I beratingly yelled at the man on the floor, kneeling.
"This unworthy one asks for your forgiveness my Queen. We truly cannot find Lord Zachary anywhere." The man said.
"Leave us and resume the search." I said before turning to sit on the throne behind me.
My talons drummed on the armrest while my thoughts swirled.
'You promised to stand beside me every battle so long as I helped you obtain your revenge. You have always honored the promises you make. It's a rather desirable trait for demons, not so much devils though, the schemers that they are. So where have you gone? I know your strength well enough to know that you wouldn't be dead. You are the one and only Zachary of every rulers' nightmares after all. So where are you? It's not that time of year yet, so you wouldn't have left for your home yet, and you would have requested leave first anyways.' My thoughts paused as the throne room's door opened and a pair of messengers came dashing in and kneeled before me.
"Speak." I said.
"My Queen, a few days ago the Heavenly tower surged with energy and has become active. A barrier with strength that surpasses anything this one has ever heard of has been erected around it, and has prevented us from getting closer to inspect the changes. Archmage Duranis has requested your presence when you are available to see if you can do something about it, your majesty." One said.
I glanced at the other and asked, "And you?"
"My Queen, a portal opened in the first sealed region, and a Lich came through. Grand Mage Malesh also requests your presence when you are available, as his Appraisal VII was unable to determine where the portal was opened from, and that the Lich must have had a power status concealment or alteration ability." The other replied.
"Inform them that when the chance arises, I will grace them with my presence. Until then they will continue to gather information on their respective phenomenons." I replied before dismissing them.
