Maud Bram's life was perfect as can be living on her family's farm in Sumter, Ontario a small town in Southern Ontario living with her parents Susanne & Alfred and her older sister Irene. But the war as been going on for years now, and another blow is given when her best friend Elizabeth falls ill with Spanish flu a new disease that has killed millions. Upon Elizabeth's death bed she asks her friend to do something for her after her death marry her husband Ray and be a mother to her 2 year old baby Beatrice. Ray and Maud never liked each other how will the deal with this arrangment?
