38. A heavy object fell on me

Outside the ward at the same time.

Lara was worried as to what excuse she would tell them. She was sure that they would kill Liam if they found out that her hand was fractured because of him.

" Hello", she answered." Good morning sis. How are you doing??", she was greeted by the cheerful voice of her brothers. " I am okay. It is just that…", she started replying in an uncertain tone.

The brothers immediately tensed up when they heard her voice and asked," What happened?? Did you get hurt??" " Actually I have a slight fracture on my left arm,…. I accidentally slipped and fell down…", she said.

At once the brothers were in panic mode." Oh my god… Where did you fall??.. Which hospital did you go to??... Shall we come now??.. Can you walk??.. You should be more careful sis…", the brothers started.

" I am alright. The doctor said it will take less than two weeks to heal. I am completely fine don't get tensed.", she replied.

But still the brothers weren't satisfied and said that they would come to pick her up. She couldn't help but sigh seeing the way they were panicking but she had a warm feeling from their care. She then stepped back into the ward.

She saw their shocked faces and realized that they finished watching the footage." Boss I have a suggestion. Either do not get drunk or don't call me after you are drunk. I have no intention in breaking another bone", she said.

Liam wanted to dig a hole right there and hide. Never in his life had he been this embarrassed.

" I'll be leaving now", she said. When she was turning Miles suddenly spoke," I'll drop you". " It's okay Mr. Miles. My brothers will be waiting outside and I'll be taking leave today", she replied and left after telling byes to them.

Just as she guessed, her brothers were outside to pick her up. They came running towards her and were scanning her from head to toe to make sure that no other part was hurt. Both of them were walking beside her like body guards and got inside the car.

The hospital staffs attention were caught by the two handsome brothers and the beautiful sister. Though the guys were known rich guys, they couldn't recognize the girl. But they were sure of one thing, the girl was definitely important.

She was bombarded with questions till they reached the mansion. Even Mark and Sara were very worried. She just said a story that supported her lie and managed to avoid their suspicion. The two brothers took leave from the company and stayed next to her the whole day.

Today Miles, Lina and Emily learnt one thing. Liam was madly in love with Lara. But the only problem was that Lara seemed to not understand it. Even though she hand high IQ, her EQ seemed to be very low.

The next day she had to struggle get her brothers to let her go to the office. They just wouldn't budge. Finally they agreed on the condition that she send them texts every thirty minutes.

When Lara stepped out of the elevator, all eyes were on her. The people were surprised to see a sling on her arm. They were already worried when she had taken off, since she almost never took leave. They rushed to her and started asking her as to what happened to her.

" It is nothing. Just a heavy object fell on me.", she said. Liam, Miles and Levy had stepped out of the elevator a few seconds back. When Liam heard her reply, he choked on his coffee and his face flushed. He immediately rushed to his office. Miles only chuckled seeing the way he behaved.

The others didn't pay much attention to his reaction. They then assured her that they would help her in every way they could. She finally went and sat on her chair and started going through some files.

She was great full that it was her left hand and not her right hand.

Miles couldn't control his laughter the moment he stepped into Liam's office. Liam was scowling at him. " Bro, never in my life did I imagine to see you this embarrassed. Ha.. ha..", Miles said while laughing.

As much as Liam wanted to disagree with him, he could not. It was true. He had never been this embarrassed in his life. He didn't even know how to face her.

Two weeks later, Lara finally got her cast removed. The doctor advised her not to put much strain on her left hand for another week.

Liam was behaving very awkwardly around her. Though she was good at acting as though nothing happened.

A few days later.

Liam, Miles and Levy stepped out of the elevator as usual, but were confused when they was that the entire office was dark and quiet. Liam started feeling a bit uneasy.

Right at that moment the lights turned on and the sight before them baffled them.
