Maria excitedly made her way to the door. She rang the bell and Lara quickly answered.
Lara smiled seeing Maria smile. After stepping in and putting all the shopping bags down, Maria gave her a tight hug.
" So… How was your day??", Lara asked expectantly. She hoped that Miles hadn't done anything stupid.
" Ohhh… It was so exciting… Phoenix Mall was just spectacular… And that cute friend of yours was also quite a good piece of entertainment…. By the way, is he single??", Maria replied while slumping down onto the couch.
" Yup he is… So I feel like you enjoyed his company more than the mall??", Lara commented while rubbing her hands together in excitement.
Maria blushed listening to Lara's statement. But she couldn't deny it though. She indeed did enjoy his company more than the mall.
" He was looking so handsome and cute when he was nervous… He was just a total gentleman… Aahh…", Maria replied with a dreamy expression.
Lara looked at her bestie with a smile. This girl was most definitely in love.
Maria spent the entire night gushing about Miles. In between, she would even show her the dresses and many other things she brought.
Maria stopped only when it was midnight when Lara said that she had to go to work the next day.
Lara was a bit worried about her future. It was most likely that they would make some excuse and go out again…
That wasn't the problem… But if she was going to keep blabbering about him, then she is likely to have many more sleepless nights ahead…
Poor Lara…. :(
The next day.
Lara went to work as usual. Today was the last day she had to do the work of being Liam's temporary secretary. Levy was going to return to work tomorrow.
She wanted to ask Miles about how his time went with her. She looked around but there was no sight of him. She thought he was late and decided to give Liam his schedule for the day.
She picked the tab and walked into Liam's office. She knocked before entering.
" Good morning boss!!", she greeted him with a bright smile. He smiled back and replied," Good morning Lara..".
" You have a meeting with the board members in one hour and…..", she went on with his activities for the day.
" That's all boss..", she ended it with a smile.
" Hmmm… What is going on with the planning of the event in Country G?? Have they fixed a date yet??", he asked after a few seconds.
" They sent a confirmation mail about the date and timing of the events. The main event is scheduled to be held exactly a month from today.
The other details, I have forwarded it to your mail boss… ", she replied.
" Will you go with me??", he suddenly asked her. It sounded so informal that Lara was confused and shocked." Huh??", she asked in shock.
Liam suddenly realized how weird his statement sounded and corrected himself." I… I mean that if you are willing to attend the summit with me..", he said awkwardly.
Stupid Liam… That sounded so vulgar… What will she think??… Aaaahh… He was cursing inwardly.
" Uh… Sure boss…", she replied awkwardly.
" Has the private jet been booked??", he asked quickly changing the subject.
" Yeah… The details and timing of the event have been given to them… Only the number of people who are attending have to be confirmed… So who all are going boss??…", she replied.
" Miles will have to stay and take care of things here… We can't ask Levy to stay out of country for that long considering that his wife his pregnant… So it is only you and me..", he replied trying to make it sound as less awkward as possible.
" Okay boss… I'll send the confirmation now…", she replied.
Suddenly they heard the door open. Both of them looked toward the door to see who it was.
