On getting to the hospital it seems her condition is deteriorating, Soo I quickly went to find a nurse who in turn went to search for the doctor.
Excuse me ma'am, u heard a voice say I looked up to see a man who would be in his late 40s , he is putting on a white lab coat and around his neck is a stethoscope.
Hi my name is doctor feranmi, he said with a small smile while extending his hand
Fariya is my name, I said as I took his hand
please doctor, how is my daughter??
She is out of danger for now but she needs a bone marrow transplant, her marrow is weak due to some unfathomable reason but while we work on why it became weak you should go for a test to see if it matches and call her father for the test too, you can include her siblings into the list too, he said in a calm voice
Doctor what are you saying?? What is a marrow and why is a test needed? I asked feeling distraught and confused
Well, maybe you want to come with me to my office so we can sit and talk privately, he suggested
Ok, I said as I followed him to his office, as soon as we entered and settled, he started speaking
A marrow is a substance inside the body which produces blood cells, and to your second question, a test is needed Soo we would know if your bone marrow is a match
What if it isn't match?? I asked scared of the answer
Well, that would mean her father and siblings would be here for the test too, he said
But she doesn't have a dad or siblings, can't I bring my friend for the test? I asked
The chances of your friend's marrow matching hers is very slim since she is not blood related to her, so you are the only solid hope here, he said
What do you mean by blood related doctor
Well since you gave birth to her , and she has your blood in her, there is a high chance of your marrow being a match, he explained in his forever calm voice
What you are saying now is that people who are not blood related have very little chance of having a match with her, I asked my voice trembling
Yes, he said and I stood up to leave with unsteady legs
Thank you doctor, I said as I walked out
As soon as I closed the door to his office, I breathed out shakily. I managed to get to the room which Maggie is.
She is in Soo much pain and I can't even help her and the worst of it all is that u don't think anyone can help her. Neil is gone, I don't know her father or anyone related to her, how would I save her and to think she is barely into the third year of her life. I cried even more until I started to drift off.
