Chapter 142: Patience is my middle name

THE BEAUTIFUL SIGHT OF MY DOG RUNNING TO ME AS I OPENED THE DOOR LEFT MY HEART MOLTEN. I bent down and carried him up to my chest and squeezed him gently. Walking in with him, I took a seat on the couch and placed him down. I stroke him and watched as he cried hysterically and laid belly up lowering his ears.

"You missed me, didn't you??" I asked playfully as I lightly scratched him, making him kick with his legs.

"Great. Your love is undeniably strong I can feel it up in my bones...." Lauren sat across us with a bowl of popcorn in her hands.

When I looked at her, Cloud raised his head to check what I was looking at and jumped off the couch running after Lauren.

"Oh no....you don't get a bit of my corn..." She raised the bowl out of his reach and I heard him bark in anger.

"Cloud....you don't get to eat popcorn...." I got up and carried him to the kitchen with me.

"I'll make you something even more delicious...ever heard of pheasant and venison???" I asked him opening the fridge and to my surprise, it was still full from the many foods I received from my fans. It's been a whole two weeks from the time I was hospitalised to when I woke up and these things were still here! I ate many and Lauren took some home but they were all still here!

"Lauren!!!" I screamed while taking out the last venison. I took a pheasant portion from the freezer and placed them both in the microwave to defrost.

"Why'd you call me??"

"Why is the fridge still full??? All these foods, aren't they being eaten or something?? Do they keep coming in?? But after I woke up all these were going to stop, weren't they?" I asked looking through the entire set of containers in the fridge. It was still packed like it all just happened yesterday. How is that possible?? I opened the mini fridge and instead of my medicines, it still had some other foods in it. God!

"I don't live here...I should be asking you that question....." She replied. Fair enough, I thought.

"Maybe I should give them away to charity...you know....all these foods and these teddies. I can give some of the cards to all the sick people in the city hospital...." I suggested mostly to myself because Lauren was barely listening. Yes! That's a brilliant idea. I was going to give some of these things away. Just like I was blessed, I'll also be a blessing to others and help them restore their hope in times of sickness. I know how it can be. I've been there before.

"Yea....good idea.... although I can't shake the feeling that Ambrose Yde is connected to all this. Why do you suddenly care that the house is still full when you've lived in here for two weeks???" She asked tossing some corn in her mouth.

"Untrue..." I denied the accusation. "What's wrong with suddenly bringing change in one's life???" I asked removing the meat from the microwave and placing them both in a pot.

I grated some onions, carrots and took some peas from the fridge, added them to the pot and cooked at 60 degrees.

"Oh...so you want to bring change in your life....." She asked in a very arbitrary tone that got me to wonder where exactly she was going with this.

I stopped what I was doing and stared at her.

"Is this about Adam???" I asked bending down to carry Cloud. He had become my baby and I was willing to do anything for him.

"I should be asking that question again....." She made me roll my eyes at her and walk back to the living room.

I turned the TV on and fortunately or unfortunately, the face of Ambrose Yde filled the entire screen. It was a video of him singing one of his very own works. Permanent. This song was first to get a million downloads within 24 hours of its release. It was the very first song he debuted with and already won the best artist of all music awards. He had a European tour last year and his performance was better for a first, multiplying all his fans and surpassing the performance of already known artists like Dean Sean. Ambrose was just something else...

"Just what I thought....so he's coming Saturday night....what if Adam comes...?"

"So what?? To hell with him for all I care...." I hugged a cushion after Cloud jumped off and walked out.

"This should be interesting...." She moved to next to me and placed the bowl of popcorn in between us.

"This new man of yours surely has fame banging on his door over and over again. He's been the famous person in the year over the past years and was featured in Forbes 100 rich men in the world...two times!!!"

"First of all, he's not my new man....and second of all, he's dating someone....." I rested my chin on my palm and looked at her.

"Oh really??" Who's he dating???"

"Uh....I...do not know but I think he is....he's very secretive about his private life you know...." I took some popcorn and ate.

Lauren didn't seem satisfied with my response and she sat up and moved closer to me.

"Dude's got money you know.... He's an actor, a singer, an entrepreneur, an industrialist and has his own cloths line. He has all these things which independently bring him money. Damn....why did I get married so fast...???" Lauren gave me those dreamy eyes and I laughed up my sleeve because she was being hysterically funny. She narrowed her eyes at me making me think of whatever was going on as a scene in an 80's sitcom.

Lauren was very fun. She might have been a middle aged woman but she was just the assistant I needed with the word personal to it.

"So...Saturday night???" She repeated.

"Yes...." I agreed. I might have only officially met him once but I did know I missed his friendship. I was so exited for Saturday that I wanted it to be here already. Today was Monday and that meant I had to wait for five days to see him again.

Well...no problem. I was patient. Patience is my middle name after all.

"Hey Juliet! Your food's burning....!!" Lauren called from the kitchen and I rushed to check on it.

It was really burning. Oh no!

I can't feed Cloud burnt food!

I quickly tossed it off in the bin and thought, why don't I go out with Cloud??

During the Vogue interview, I was asked that and I replied that I have never. It's a thing for celebrities to go for a walk with their dogs or pets.

Maybe I should do that too and while out, I can share some of these foods to the people out there. Yes....

I do have my afternoon free as well so....why not???

"Lauren!!!! Get ready we're going out!!!" I jumped off the counter and rushed to my room. I wore white t-shirt, blue jeans and a set of brown ankle boots. Nothing serious. Nude make up on and I was set to go. I carried my clutch and my phone in it not forgetting to call Aaron, to come over.
