Love Or Lies

I didn't pay attention to Mr. Jeon until suddenly Naeul patted my shoulder signalling that someone was calling me.


With a self-assured look on my face, I stand face them and began my presentation. Everything went smoothly and I'm quite relieved because they gave lots of positive reviews. 


Two hours had passed and the meeting had finally ended. I looked at my watch and it was exactly time for lunch. I felt very hungry because I didn't eat breakfast since this morning. 


My stomach keeps on growling, begging for some food. At first, I decided to have lunch with Naeul when suddenly I heard someone call my name.


It was him, the man in a black suit who is Jeon Jungkook.


"Oh, I almost forgot about my notebook. Thank you so much."


"Anyway, do you want to have lunch with me, Miss Aerin?"


I had declined his offer once last night and I felt guilty if I refused his offer again for the second time. 


He smiled at me when hearing my final decision as he expected that I would refuse his offer again. 


On our journey to the coffee shop, we went into silence in the car, feeling a bit awkward until he abruptly started the conversation.


"So, my dad told me that you work with him for about 3 years, and he's very impressed with your job." 


"You must be a workaholic. That's why you went out to get some fresh air last night. "


"Yes, that's true but did you ask personal information about me to your dad?"


I smirked while staring at his face for an answer, but then he changed the subject of our conversation. 


" Emm, nothing. Anyway, do you have any plans for your future journey, like I don't know, getting married? "


I'm speechless. I don't know how to react to his question. 


My old memories flashed back in my mind. My smile vanished but I tried to respond calmly.


" I-I'm not ready to let someone enter into my life. "


Upon reaching the coffee shop he ordered some food, and we had our meal together. He kept on staring at me with a genuine stare. I guess that my words were a bit harsh a moment before.


"By the way Mr. Jungkook, why are you looking at me with a sad face? Is something wrong? " 


He suddenly changed his expression with a small laugh. 


"I'm sorry if I make you feel hesitant with the question that I ask you. I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to-"


"It's okay. There's nothing to worry about " 


"Jungkook, do you have any girlfriend? You look kinda handsome. Are you still single? " 


A few silence came out until he swiftly whispered


"I have a girlfriend once, but we break up because I found out that she was cheating on me. I'm single now, but I think that there's someone who has stolen my heart. "


Hearing his answer made me feel like I wanted to know more. That girl must be lucky! 


He looked at me and our eyes met. His soft lips are curving. He then came closer to me.
