Sleeping Arrangements

I try to turn around, but Chester stops me.

"Wait, Spencer. You don't have to look. It's nothing. Trust me." Chester keeps trying to stop me, but he doesn't succeed.

When I turn around, I see Lily and Max making out, but Max wasn't fully into it. Max had his eyes open, staring back at me.

Ewww! Who does that?

Everyone that saw them kissing looked at me too, trying to see what reaction I was going to have. I started laughing quietly to myself.

If he thought he was going to embarrass me in front of all these people, he had another thing coming. If he thought he could make me feel jealous, I'll show I couldn't care less, because I really couldn't.

I turn back around in my seat, towards Chester. He looked kind of worried.

"Are you ok," Chester asks me.

"Yeah, but one thing he's not ripping me of, is my pride. So, can you help me out for a second?" Chester looked kind of confused, but he understood what I meant when I smashed my lips onto his.

There was this tingling sensation when he started to kiss me back. His hands went up to my neck and he started running his hands through my hair, earning himself a muffled moan. I bit his bottom lip, making him groan.

It was a heated session and I completely forgot the original reason for why we were doing this. I pulled him closer to me by his shirt and slid my hand underneath his shirt to feel his rock hard abs. It felt like I was suffocating underwater, but I never wanted to come back up for air. It felt amazing.

This went on longer than it should have before we pulled our lips away from each other, to catch our breaths.

When I opened my eyes, everyone was staring at us, including Max. He looked pissed and I just snickered at how mad he looked.

That's what you get, sucker!

When I looked back up at Chester, I could see him still staring at me. His stare sent a weird feeling into my belly.

Maybe it's just gas.

"I'm gonna go change into something dry and warm," I tell Chester and leave.

I felt so weird. I've never felt like this before. I must've gotten food poisoning or something.

My legs feel wobbly and my heart felt like it would fall out of my chest by how fast it was beating. My hands were sweating and my face was burning.

When I got to the tent I was sharing with the girls, I took off my wet clothes and put on something warm. Some grey sweatpants and sweater did the trick.

"Hey, Spency! Can you do me a favor, please please pleaseeeeeeeeee?" When I turned around, Jamie was on her knees begging for something.

"What are you doing, Jamie," I ask her, a little confused as to what she's doing. She looks up at me, still on her knees, making puppy dog eyes.

"So, I asked the other girls and they gave me the okay. Can me and Parker have the tent to ourselves. I know I'm being selfish, but I'm begging you." The way Jamie was begging made me laugh.

"It's fine. I'll just find another tent with the girls." When I said that, Jamie started to look nervous.

"Soooooooo, that's the other thing. Daniel and Hope just got here. Alexandra wanted to stay in a tent with Daniel, so Sky has to share a really small tent with Hope and I know you guys aren't friends and you wouldn't want to sleep in there with her."

"So, where am I supposed to sleep," I ask her. She grows a little smirk on her face.

"I mean, you don't really know anyone else, but Chester's tent is available. Everyone saw that steamy make out session."

"You guys set this up, didn't you. Besides the point, the kiss was nothing." As I said that last sentence, I could feel my stomach flipping.

"It sure didn't look like nothing. Plus, that's kind of your only option." Jamie's smile grew wider.

That sneaky bastard!

"Fine, but I'm only doing this because your my best friend," I tell her pouting.

"I doubt that's the only reason, but I won't push it if it makes you change your mind." The next moment, Parker stepped into the tent.

He was holding a rose in his mouth and looking all flirty. I'm pretty sure he didn't know I was in here because he let out a little squeal when he saw me.

"Well, that's my signal to leave. Three's a crowd." I get my stuff and leave them alone in the tent.

Everyone was pretty much stowed away in their tents except for a couple of stragglers. It took me awhile to find Chester's tent.

Accidentally going into other people's tents. Seeing things I wished I hadn't.

When I got to his tent, he wasn't inside, but I knew it was his because I saw the hoodie he was wearing earlier.

I went looking for him because I don't want to just lay in his tent without asking. He might already have a sleeping buddy and I didn't want to be rude and barge in.

I found him sitting on the cliff, just staring into open space. I saw him pull out a cigarette and light it.

"Since when do you smoke," I ask him, sitting next to him, taking him by surprise. I watch him take a drag from the cigarette in his hand.

"I don't do it often. Just when I'm thinking hard." I could see something swirling in his gray eyes, lit by the moonlight.

"What's going on in that tiny little, barely functioning, brain of yours," I ask him, taking the cigarette out from between his fingers and sucking some of the toxins in, regretting it right away.

I started choking and coughing out of control. Chester looked scared and started to pat my back, trying to help.

"Holy shit, Spencer! Why did you do that," he asks me, looking at me crazy.

"I don't know! I thought it'd be cool! I wanted to try," I tell him, still struggling to breathe a little. He started to laugh.

"And you say my brain is barely functioning, little Sparrow." Chester's face was more child-like now. With a huge grin on his face and bright eyes.

"Why are you out here anyways? Don't you girls have like midnight routines and rituals or you guys paint each other's nails and have pillow fights?" I just roll my eyes in response to Chester.

"One: your describing sleepovers, not camping trips. Two: we're teenage girls, not witches. And three: the girls are sleeping in other tents because Jamie wanted to have the tent for her and Parker."

"So, where are you sleeping," Chester asks me.

"Apparently, your my only option, but I can always just sleep outside."

"No, you don't have to sleep outside. There's more than enough room in the tent for the both of us." With that, Chester stands up and dusts himself off. I follow his lead and stand up too.

"Thanks. I don't think I would've survived sleeping out here in the cold."

"I wouldn't have let you do that anyways," Chester says, giving me a smile. That dimpled smile that made my stomach do flips.

When we got back to Chester's tent, he fixed it to where I could sleep on one side and he could sleep on the other.

"Good night, my little Sparrow," Chester told me from his side of the tent.

"Night, Chester."
