All about that bass...

Celestina's POV

Stupid cocky asshole. As if he owns the world, he didn't even apologize. It was not my mistake that I stared at him. He had a rare type of blue colored eyes. The sapphire blue. His eyes shone bright in the light like my pendant did. Are all hot guys assholes? What, I admit he was hot. But his behavior, eh...

He just spoiled my entire mood. I didn't even bother take my things. I left them in locker. Who cares?

I sped my car past the slow moving cars. I was gripping the steering so tight that my pale hand turned white. I took deep breaths to calm myself. It helps it seems. In and out. In and out. In and ah...fuck it.

I parked quite rashly in my garage. I was feeling tired after this eventful day. I showered and changed to comfy clothes that is shorts and pulled my long and wet hair into a messy bun.

I walked downstairs to my large kitchen. I'm not bad at cooking. I had choose between making pasta or lasagna.

"You know, pasta is easy and fast to make. Lasagna needs effort and takes time for you. You seem like you want to eat them raw. But I'm okay with anything as long you are cooking." A voice mumbled behind me. The amusement in his voice was detectable.

I took a sharp knife with just in case, you know...

The person started by chuckling but ended up laughing his ass out loud. I recognized him by the thunderous laugh. A smile made its way to my face. My smiles are pretty rare. They are reserved only for people close to my heart.

"Miss me, darling."

"Wouldn't say so as you are the one who came here." In reality, a little tug in my heart made me realize how much I missed this overprotective man.

I was engulfed in a bear hug. A huge figure, he was. "Tina, I did miss you, my little fluff ball of sarcasm." He was wiping fake tears already.

I smiled at his playful antics. Alex is my bodyguard and a close friend to my father. He was there with me my entire life. His wife, Samantha was like a mom to me. And I'm close with his twins too. They made feel like a family together. Other than my family, you know. You get it.

"How are you? How is Sam? How are the twins? Are they troubling you? Did dad send you here? Didn't he trust me? Are you gonna stay with me? Is..." I rambling without an ending.

"Hey, calm down. Everyone is fine. Your dad loves you. Yes, I'm gonna stay with you. Your entire family is fine, they are just worried."

"Wait, you're gonna stay with me. What about Sam and the twins?"

"They are completely okay with this. Just 2 years and I will visit them constantly. Actually, Sam is pregnant." He calmly informed me.

"Are you crazy? You are gonna stay with me instead of her. I don't need a baby sitter."

"Gee, way to make my welcome. Sam is the one who insisted on it. She suggested it to your dad. She is worried about you." His smile did nothing to ease my guilt.

"But..." I was cut off by Alex.

"No buts. Now, let's go for some lunch. I'm freaking hungry. I heard about a good cafe a few blocks away. Go, change." He had stern look on his face.

"What is wrong with this? I don't need to change." I levelled myself to him.

"But they are too short."

"They are called shorts." A roll of eyes and a 'duh tone' should have worked.

"No, it is too revealing. Boys will be staring at your legs."

"Do I look like I care? Let them. I have myself with me to protect myself." He just rolled his eyes.

I grabbed my car keys and purse and leave. I was driving and we reached a small cafe. I didn't bother to even read the cafés' name. I let my hair down and it flowed beyond my waist. My ankle heeled boots made a little clicking sound. We both entered the cafe to hear the lively buzzing of the people. Everyone stopped at the ring of the bell when I opened the door. It was the same as my college. But they went back to minding their own business. We chose a booth near a window. A waitress came to take our order. Salad and hamburger. Blueberry cooler for me.

"Remember, Carlotta Moreau. She studies in my college." I was waiting for surprise but just a calculative look on his face. "You knew she was there."

"Your father sent you here because she is studying here. You should be thanking her. And what happened when you met her?"

"It got a little emotional. I am now in the safe nest of her friends."

"Does she know about you?"

"No, I'm not telling her. Don't ask me why."

"I won't." Again, the calculative look.

"Alex, I'm pregnant..." 1, 2, 3,

"What the hell? Who is the son of bitch? I'm going to kill him. He will never be able to have kids ever after. He is dead....." He kept making empty threats. The waitress arrived with food and he banged the table scaring her.

"Alex, I was joking."

I looked at the waitress apologetically. "I'm sorry. He is PMSing. So, a little crazy." She laughed and walked away to another table. I could feel his glare on my face. I just gave him a cheeky smile. He was suppressing a smile. We chatted about my family and his family. It was fun to catch up with him. But now and then, I was distracted by certain sapphire blue-eyed asshole.

I reached home and Alex had to leave for some work. I totally bunked my classes. First day, I'm bunking classes. I received a calk from the Don, himself. Finally.

"Mio caro. Mio tesoro. How are you?" (My dear. My darling)

I mumbled something.

"Sei ancora arrabbiato con me?" (Are you still angry with me?)

"Sì..." (Yes)

"Scusi, Segnora." (Sorry, ma'am)

"Yeah, yeah. Right"

He laughed heart fully. I was the only one who can make him laugh properly.

"Are you okay? Did you meet Alex? I was busy so I couldn't call you. How was college? Any problems?"

"Woah, hold your horses, old man. I am fine. I had lunch with him. College is good. And Carlotta. Smooth, dad. Smooth."

"I'm sorry. I was worried about you."

"It's okay. And nobody is gonna know my identity. I'm not gonna tell Carlotta. She wouldn't like it."

"It's okay. The entire family says hello. And even the guards say hello. Everybody misses you."

"Just 2 years, dad." It sounded like I was trying to assure myself.

"I know. Talk to later. Te amo."

"Bye, dad."

I was really tired. I had work to do. Stupid college. I completed my work. Finally. Some peace.

I made a little dinner. Sleep swept away me away as soon as my head hit the pillow.

I dreamt of the cold sapphire blue eyes that night.
