Chapter 27

"Those weird, colorful clothes..." Mr. Shark narrowed his eyes.

"Lady Jellyfish!?" I exclaimed.

"There's no way she's the culprit. She can't fit through the passageway. Even without her puffy dress." Mr. Shark turned to Prof. Dog. "Quick! Get the pack to go back to their formation. They have the wrong person!"

Prof. Dog was still sad. "My circle... My special ellipse of 0 eccentricity and two coincident foci...!!"

"Dog, hurry! Before the real culprit escapes!" Mr. Shark shook the math professor.

From the corner of my eye, I saw a boy exit through one of the building's windows.

He had black hair and appeared to be twelve or thirteen years of age. I couldn't catch up to him. He was too fast. Not once did he look back, so I couldn't catch a glimpse of his face.

Yet he looked oddly familiar.

Suddenly, I remembered that day when we visited Ms. Cat's apartment. He was the one I noticed before going inside the elevator in Aqua Chrysalis.
