Chapter 29

"Ms. Cat, can you please not be so vague about it? I'm confused."

She sighed. "It has something to do with the tenant battles. Do you want to keep staying in Aqua Chrysalis?"

I hesitated before answering her question. "I suppose so."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes," I replied.

Ms. Cat nodded and poured me a cup of sweet-scented tea. "I'll go get you some cookies to eat." She stood up and went inside her kitchen.

I couldn't help but take a sip of tea. Its smell invited me. After enjoying the first sip, I took a few more.

"Did you tell Mr. Shark that you're meeting me today?" Ms. Cat came back with a plate of cookies.

"No. I haven't talked to him in a while."

"Is that so?" She placed the plate down on the coffee table. "Why not?"

I blinked. I was beginning to feel a little dizzy.

"He's hiding something from me..."

"Do you feel angry? Or betrayed?"

My eyes wanted to close so badly. "Yes…"

"Are you alright? You don't look so good."

"I'm… fine..."

"Feel free to rest, Butterfly..."
