"No! No! NO! I am not going anywhere. If you want to go, then you go… No-no, that is also not right. I will come with you wherever you are going! Why do you have to push me away just to be with Emma? Emma always loved me, didn't she? Doesn't mom and Emma not like me anymore? Did Emma leave us because of me? Am I the reason why we are now living separately?" Dina started to wail while squatting on the floor.
As Millie could not see her granddaughter wailing, she came near her to comfort her. She had just lifted her hand to place it on Dina's head when Dina reacted wildly. She pushed her hand away and shouted,
"You! It's all because of you. If you had not come here, then my mother would have not forced me to do something that I didn't want to do. It's all on you, old woman. I warn you. Do not come near me or I will ask the man standing next to you to haunt you forever," Dina cursed at Millie.
Millie looked around her in fear but she didn't see anyone near her.
"They won't be visible to your eyes but I can see. He is looking at you with lustful eyes or... loving eyes? Why?" Dina inquired about the shadow that was lurking near Millie.
"Dina! Stop it! Did I raise you with so much difficulty until now, so that you could behave in such a rude way to an elderly? How can you talk so disrespectfully to someone who is more than twice your age? Where are your manners that I taught you?" Kara instantly scolded Dina for her inappropriate behavior.
Dina immediately smiled and said, "See, mom! I know you will never let me go away. Look at your angry face. I know you care about me the most in this world. And I am always your priority. So, what is this all about? Tell me the truth. Are you all trying to make fun of me? Or is it some kind of prank? I know it must be Mike's idea. It's his plan, right? But didn't I already quit drinking alcohol recently? So what are guys acting for?"
Dina embraced Kara and a smile crossed her tear-stained face. Kara could not understand how Dina came to such an absurd conclusion.
'Why does she even think that it's all a prank? Didn't I scold her just now? The kids who get scolded by their parents always get angry at her age. They would either fight back with their parents or leave home in the moment of heated discussion? But why is she still sticking to me? How could I make her leave without breaking her heart?' Kara wondered.
Dina wiped her tears and stood up. Then she called out Mike's name loudly. Once he came in front of her, she decided to punch him so hard that he would never forget this day.
'This was all his fault. He is the mastermind behind this horror drama. Let him come out of his hiding, I will show my real face. This time, I will bit him so hard that he will go mad and would never have the courage to pull such a stunt in his life ever.' She grudgingly made that decision.
Poor Mike unknown to anything that had happened in Kara's house was exercising peacefully at the gym. He gawked at the sexy ladies who had been sending him flying kisses in the air.
"Once, I get to remove the burden Dina from my shoulders, then wait for me, my ladies. I will come and fulfill all your requests," He mumbled and winked at them all.
Those girls shrieked in delight and came near him. They had been eyeing this heavenly beauty from the time they joined the gym. Even though he would speak very nicely to all of them, he had never committed to anyone yet.
So everyone thought they would have a chance with him if they came every day at the same time when he came to the gym. Two ladies had mustered their courage to invite him to date but saw that Mike was running away from that place.
"Mike… Mikee…. You little cunning fox…" Dina's voice echoed in his head and made him have a splitting headache.
'What did I do now? Wasn't everything fine these recent days?' Mike wondered.
The minute he heard her voice calling him, he rushed out of the gym. He entered a telephone booth nearby and took out a magical device. Within seconds, he got transported in front of Dina's house.
With his shirt over his shoulder and sweat covered body, he entered the house and saw Dina's angry face.
"Mike, Mike… You better come out right now! Or else I will mess up the project work that you had worked on for almost a month now and begged me to finish. Mike, I order you to come out of your hiding; Right now!" She shouted.
Mike immediately rushed inside the door while breathing heavily. He had just finished doing his work out and didn't even get any time to take a bath. Good thing, she had summoned him before that, or else he would have faced the wrath of Kara. As he would have traveled to Dina's house in his birth suit.
"What happened? What's the matter? Why did you summon… I mean why did you call me? Is there any problem?" Mike asked them while wiping the sweat from his forehead.
"Problem? You are asking me, 'Is there any problem'?" Dina screamed and pounced on him.
Millie looked at the half-naked young man with astonishment. 'How did appear out of nowhere?' She wondered.
"Dina, let's talk civilly and clear our misunderstandings. I really don't understand what's going on! Also, I can't resolve the problem unless I know what the problem is! Tell me in detail what happened before I came here. We will think of a solution together in a calm manner," Mike said and wiggled away from her grip.
Looking at Dina's terrorized face, he decided to play safe. So, he hid behind Kara and asked cautiously,
"Now tell me without hitting me. What happened before I came here? Did your symptoms become bad even at day time?" Mike inquired.
"I… I… Mom… Mom…" Dina stuttered as she could not bring herself to explain what happened a few minutes ago.
'How could I tell him that my mother is not my mother? And this old lady in front of them is her biological grandmother!' Dina lowered her head and felt so hurt by thinking that she was not her mother's daughter anymore.
The pressure around her was too much and she felt suffocated. Her eyes turned blurry and she couldn't see the people in front of her clearly. Her head spun around and her body started to sway from one side to another.
Millie wondered if her granddaughter was drunk? It was not even dark yet but she had already started to drink alcohol. Instantly, she looked at the glass Dina brought to her earlier. As she was too stressed to even think about anything earlier, she did not touch the glass yet.
