*BOOOM*
The wall where the dwarves stopped mining had exploded. I thought it was hard to brake? I guess it's nothing in front of these monsters.
The wall that exploded, which was once a wall showed a massive and intricate cave. Inside of the cave was multiple caves and large and big. It gave me an eerie and scary feeling.
"We hit the jackpot! 3 in one! What do you think Bol!?" The shortest dwarf shouted out loud.
"I'll be damned" The 'middle' height dwarf agreed in a straight face.
"Damn right you should, this would've taken a few days if we hadn't found this" Days!? And here we thought that we'd be gone in a few hours.
"HEY! Bol, Forde, there's something wrong about the cave" The two celebrating dwarves stopped what they were doing and caught up to the tallest dwarf.
"See these marks?" He touched the wall with scratches. The scratches weren't only on one wall, they surrounded the cave.
"Hey Bol, when was it since the last expedition in the Stone Ravine?"
"Uhhh, about 20 days ago? What about it captain?"
"Gargoyles don't take that long to revive, they at most regenerate for about 5 days. If it's over then it must mean..." The captain reached into his bag and brought out his hammer. It must've been pretty special for the two other dwarves to gasp at its sights. In return they brought out their own hammers.
I looked at Haruka.
"Bring out your katana" Haruka agreed, we both noticed that their behaviour was a bit off. Soon after staring into the distance for a bit, Haruka pulled out a katana out of no where.
I reached for my own sword- Huh, oh right. I left my sword before. The only thing that was in my inventory was two health potions and a pickaxe. I grabbed the pickaxe out of my inventory attracting the stares of the girls and Haruka.
"What? I forgot my sword" They all facepalmed.
I stared at the dwarves ignoring the laughing girls and notice that they were staring into a certain hole.
"Everybody...nice...and...calmly...please...escape" They were saying each word very slowly and softly.
"Why?" I whispered back. The captain faltered a bit before answering back.
"We...are...facing...an...elite...monster" An elite, sounds like something you would face with multiple people. Luckily they three had each other.
I used 'Observe' at the hole they were looking at and stood back next to Haruka. I wanted to escape once I saw the stats on this thing.

I backed away along with Haruka. The stone cave was shaking even though we were buried deep into a ravine. This means that it must've shook the whole ravine! Incredible, such power!
The rumbling started getting louder and more poweful. What can this creature look like? Since it's a gargoyle, maybe it might be just coloured differently, right?
Wrong! The beast forced us to retreat a few steps with just a look. Our heartbeats could be heard with the sounds of it's breath.
It shined a magical onyx colour. It looked like a dragon with its long neck, massive wings and protruding crystal-like-obsidian horns. Plated with obsidian plates covering its neck, back, claws and wings.
"D-D-D-D-D-D...DRAGON!!!" Haruka loudly exclaimed out loud and the dwarves started grinding their teeth madly at Haruka. He alone attracted the dragon-gargoyle.
*ROOOOAAAAHHHHHH*
The dragon opened its mouth and with the wind pressure alone, it had slammed us into the walls of the cave.
[Health: 365/440] - 75
Only the three dwarves stood strongly. When it had opened it's mouth it showed the jagged obsidian teeth. When it shut its mouth, it sounded like a gunshot close to ears. But we were at the back so we couldn't hear it to the extreme.
The three dwarves remained standing with their hammers and the dragon stood there looking at them. It was a clash that I would've love to see, though I don't think the dragon would let me live for much longer.
I looked at the others and found the groaning once again, some of us still had the injuries from the fall.
"We have to go!" I sprinted out with them in pursuit. I only saw Yua falling behind this time. Even though I saw Handa about to help her, I interrupted them and let Yua piggyback me.
"KYAAA!!!"
"Shush! I don't care about you at all, but you are weighing us down!" Yua was at first surprised and embarrassed, but then went sad at my last comment. She reluctantly held tighter to me as I ran faster for the group to catch up.
1 Kilometre isn't that far, though I think we can escape here. It only had 10 agility and so I think we can outrun it.
We arrived outside of the hole the dwarves had made and the ground began shaking once more. Before it stopped for a second and then all hell broke loose. The ground was vibrating at how much the dragon was shaking the ravine.
All of us fell down and I had to fall forward as a gentleman to protect the lady on my back. It was so much harder to contain our balance now that the ground was constantly moving so it took us a long time getting up.
"Does anyone remember where we came from? We need to get back to where we are familiar before we try to escape" Hina raised her hand and we followed her through the maze of tunnels.
Once more, we arrived at the ravine opening where a deep pool was showing itself to the sky. Where did the dwarfs come from? I remembered that they came from another tunnel like the one they had dug, but it was much more cleaner and refined.
I looked around but every stone that I looked at felt the same. I was becoming frantic and scared. I was scared I was about to die in this hell hole.
"Haruka! Quinn! Come here, I found something" Miss Prim alerted me and Haruka. All of us came over and found out she was mentioning about the tunnels.
"The dwarves had come out of this one"
"Are you sure?" I was skeptic, I wanted absolute certainty that we would survive.
*CLUNK* *CLUNK* *CLUNK*
Footsteps could be heard coming through the hole where Miss Prim had pointed to. We all slowly peaked on the side of the wall.
We could see people with swords, bows, shields and staffs. Could they be here about the elite? Or is it just a coincidence?
"Hey! Stop right there, you guys behind the wall! Did you people hear or see a elite appear around this area?" We froze in place, they saw us from over here? Well, I guess we were kinda obvious.
We saw someone whisper into the person who shouted at us.
"Adjudicators! Come, this place isn't a safe place for you to appear in!" We all slowly revealed ourselves to the other group and found ourselves walking to them.
"Did you happen to spot an elite appear here? Or did you see a significantly stronger monster with your powers?" The girls and Haruka was tongue-tied and started mumblingtheir words.
"What was that!? Quickly tell me, did you also happen to see three dwarves come by here?" The girls and Haruka stayed silent and looked down at the ground. I guess that left the guy without a shirt being stared at by a bunch of strangers.
"Yes, we saw both. We had joined the dwarves when we had explained them our situation. But we also accompanied them with taming some gargoyles. But we had interrupted a wrong gargoyle and it had happened to be an elite. But since it was too powerful to us we had to escape and leave the dwarves" I explained all of this to them calmly. The man who was at my eye level and the one that was talking, smiled.
"I see that you'll do fine in Sana, let's go!" He patted my shoulder as he passed and left with the group. As they left our sights we heard a distant shout.
"Keep going where we came from and you'll arrive at some gates. Go through the green one, good luck out there!" We all heard the shout and picked up our speed. I carried Yua once more and we traveled down the tunnel.
We ran and ran. I was starting to think that they were lying but we eventually found the room for the 'gates'. There was a red one, blue one, yellow one, green one and a white one.
We followed what the man said and entered the green portal...
