Natalie's POV
"Good morning, ma'am!" We greeted back before nodding her head.
"So how was your vacation? I do hope you've enjoyed your break since today's the start of your final year as high school students. Anyway, before starting our orientation for today, I will make an announcement in your class regarding a certain student who will be your classmate soon."
"Ma'am, is that Grey?" My classmate asked with eyes full of hope and expectation.
"You're right," my adviser answered which made my classmates squeal with excitement particularly the girls.
"However, he can't come today because he has some business to attend. I'm not yet sure when he'll come to our class but I do hope that he'll be present tomorrow. So I also hope that once he'll show up in our class, you will all treat him like an ordinary student since that's what he requested. We wouldn't want his experience with us to become a bad memory for him, right?" Ma'am Jones asked which made my classmates answered yes especially the girls again except for me of course.
Nonetheless, I doubt that they would do that.
Ma'am Jones started our subject orientation after the announcement that she has made about the 'oh-so-special Grey' or whatever.
Hours have passed and finally, our dismissal time came however, Alex and I stayed in our classroom since we've been elected as the president and vice president in our section. We had a meeting with our adviser about the schedules and future events that we'll have. The meeting was quite long but since we didn't really ask a lot of questions, our adviser dismissed us both.
"Hey sis, your brother's going to fetch you today right?" Alex asked which made me look at her.
Damn, I forgot about that.
"Nope, he will not." I answered while taking out my phone from my pocket before messaging my mom that I will go with Alex today before going back home.
She replied 'sure' that made me smile.
Oh dear brother, I hope your eyes turned white while waiting for me today.
"So you'll come with me?"
"Yes," I answered while putting my English book inside my bag since English was our last subject before the dismissal time.
"Let's go?" She asked after I have cleaned everything on my desk.
I answered with a nod before wearing my backpack.
"So where should we go? To the food court? Mall? Oh wait, how 'bout the newly opened café near the South Mall?" Alex excitedly suggested as we walk our way down to the hallway.
"Anywhere is fine with me," I answered while checking some updates on my phone when my brother suddenly called me.
"Shit," I cursed that stopped Alex from talking.
"Who's that? Is it your brother?" Alex asked which made me nod.
I answered his call and turned the loudspeaker on.
"Where are you?" He asked in a serious manner.
"I'm with Alex."
"Where are you?" He asked again as if he was already losing his patience.
"I'm in the car with Alex," I answered which made Alex stare at me with a surprised look on her face.
'What the hell, Natalie?' She mouthed but I didn't answer. Instead, I looked away from her.
"Where do you think you're going young lady?" He asked.
"None of your business and in case you're forgetting something, let me remind you that I'm still angry at you."
"Message me your current location, then, tell your friend's driver to stop the car and wait for me to come and pick you up."
"No way! I already told mom that I'm going with Alex today before going back home!" I exclaimed but my annoying brother just ignored me.
"Just do what I s—" I ended the call without letting him finish.
"Damn girl, what the heck do you think you're doing?" Alex asked and looked at me as if I've gone crazy.
"Just go with the flow," I simply answered and continued to walk.
"Your brother's going to kill me!" She exaggeratedly said that made me roll my eyes.
No, he won't. He can't even touch a single strand of your hair.
I've been best friends with Alex for 8 years ever since in elementary. However, I don't know why she's still not close with my brother. Although he's her ideal type when she first saw him, she just can't be comfortable when he's with us because of his intimidating aura which I find it absurd.
When we have finally reached the parking lot of our school, we hid on a wall to check if my brother's car is still there.
Good, he already left because I don't really want to see him today although I know we'll see each other again at home.
We didn't wait long for Alex's driver to come and pick us up.
"You know what sis?" Alex suddenly asked out of nowhere while looking outside the window.
"What?"
"I think I might not live long because of you." She said and sighed as if she's trying to accept her bad luck of having me by her side.
"Okay, I'll just visit your memorial soon then, and send my condolences to your family." I plainly answered which made her frown.
When we have finally reached our destination, we went out of the car and headed straight at the café's entrance where we were greeted by some of their staffs.
Once we have chosen our place, Alex went to the counter to order our drinks and food while I was patiently waiting on our table.
While I was scrolling down my pictures on my phone, I suddenly felt like I was being stared at my back. I looked at my behind but there was no one there. What the hell? Am I just being too cautious?
I went back on scrolling down my screen and tried to ignore my weird gut feeling but I just really can't do it because I feel like I'm having sudden chills right now.
I tried to look back again but this time, it gave me a fright.
I saw two eyes looking at me for a second before it disappeared from my sight.
