Talking to Myself? (Edited)

"Why yes I did and before you even think about it no, this isn't some sort of time travel and no I'm not gonna turn out to be some thickly accented robot here to stop you from destroying the world." She seemed to emphasize that last part but Rose didn't pick up and that seemed to annoy her a bit. "You don't know who or what I'm talking about do you?"

"Not a clue, but while we're still on the topic of me not getting things can you please explain how I ended up both here and in that inescapable void." Her body seemed to tense at the mention of Rose's most recent living space. "Well before we get down to the serious talk let me introduce myself to my name's "Alys and you are?" she spoke while reaching out a hand to greet me. Rose tried to reciprocate her gesture but her arms refused to move. The burning sensation in Rose's chest continued to pulse and spread throughout her body. "C-could you please help me?"

Alys tilted her head to the side and looked at Rose's immobile form. "Not one for shaking hands, I get that but you can at least tell me your name?" The pain Rose was in was starting to become unbearable, she could barely find the strength to lift a finger let alone shake someone's hand. But she had to go along with Alys' antics if she ever hoped to move again. "I can't say I remember much of a name but I can tell you I remember feeling some pain before I ended up in the dark place."

"That makes a lot of sense seeing as you were stabbed to death by your mother." Her words shocked Rose, to say the least. How could someone be so nonchalant about telling a person they died in such a horrible way? "I'm sorry, I may have misheard you. Did you say you were stabbed to death by my mother?" She looked at me as if I were asking some sort of rhetorical question and stepped closed to me not saying a word. "You don't remember having a name and no you're telling me you don't remember your cause of death either. Aerous must've done a number on you."

"Well can't tell you what I don't know so what are you going to do now?" That question seemed to get her back on track as she took a step back and produced a leaf made of solid crystal. "Eat this." She said this while making direct eye contact and if it wasn't for the pain currently coursing through my entire body I might have not been able to stifle back a laugh. "You still haven't explained anything, so I don't think I'll be eating anything anytime soon."

The silence that followed my statement slightly terrified me but she did eventually come up with an answer. "You died and have been chosen to take over the mantle of the goddess Gaia, but before you can reach proper divinity you must prove to the other gods that you are worthy of holding such a coveted title." "You do this by traveling to distant worlds, realms, etc. while simultaneously amassing enough power to claim that title without being torn into terrestrial matter immediately. Now eat the leaf."

Before Rose could squeak out a response Alys shoved the slightly glowing leaf into her mouth and Rose immediately began to fall forward. "What the hell in the hell is wrong with you?!"

< Language my dear, wouldn't want you to lose our shot at being a god just because of a foul mouth. But you're moving again ain't that nice. >
