Chapter 4

The cops brought Kai outside where there was a guy in a suit who was the one who went to Kai first, "Are you Kai Leonto?" Kai gave him a cold look,

"Mhmm," he simply answered,

"Well, hello Kai, You sound pale, don't tell me you were bitten by one of those guys," he asked with a serious tone,

"Guys? what do you mean?" Kai confusedly asked, the man with a suit told the cops to go away and uncuffed Kai, the cops gave the detective a glare when he wasn't looking,

"My name is Loury, I'm a detective, nice to meet you, Kai," he shows his ID and then he offered his hand for a handshake but Kai does not trust him, he slaps the detective's hand and instantly questioned him,

"How do you know me? what were those soldiers doing?" Kai asked, the detective chuckles at his question, "I knew you would ask that kind of question, I will answer that only if you come with me," the detective suggested but Kai still declined,

"Answer at least one of my questions and maybe I will go with you," Kai said,

"But these people will hear you, what we are going to talk about is something even these soldiers and polices aren't allowed to hear," the detective whispers,

"Sounds suspicious don't you think?" Kai whispered back,

"These people and I don't go very well so don't tell them ok? they seem a little... fishy. You have good instincts though, Kai, seeing me suspicious and being stubborn." Loury whispered,

"Fine, you win, where are we talking?" Kai asked,

"On Sunday, because I still have things to do, so we will meet in the coffee shop just at the corner near the floral shop, you cannot miss it, and by the way, you may not go home since the bridge is going to be blocked out, you will be staying at the hospital, you looked pale earlier, I do not know you're just bored but... it's better to be safe than sorry," Loury explained, Kai was about to go back to school when suddenly,

"Oh and just one thing, go straight to the hospital, the soldiers will give you a lift, see you on Sunday, Kai." he gave Kai his number before waving goodbye and went to his car. After a short while, the soldiers approached him,

"Let's go," the soldier ordered as he cuffed Kai again and brought him to a military vehicle. Kai looked at his school for the last time and noticed the girl who seems to be spying on him, she was behind a wall again looking at Kai,

"When can I go home?" Kai asked the soldier to his left, "Just stay alive and be on your guard kid, and don't die or you'll never know the answer," he simply said as he cleans his gun and eats his chocolates.

After minutes of driving, Kai and the soldiers finally reached the hospital, it also had many well-armed guards. The truck passed a gate in which there were two guards checking people's temperature before going inside.

The truck passed through the gates and the soldiers were sprayed by doctors in hazmat suits, they did not spray Kai but just put a took out the facemask he was using and changed it into another one, Kai's temperature was taken but they did not look surprised so he might be fine.

One of the soldiers uncuffed Kai and said, "Here follow me," he then went not inside the hospital but behind it, where it was had no lights but many people were talking, the soldiers suddenly stopped and pointed at an old mossy wooden door saying, "Here," Kai paused for a moment and glanced at the surroundings, the longer he looks at it the more he realized that this area is more heavily guarded than the front side. Some visible mines and spikes were a little hidden.

"Hey kid, let's go now," the guard yelled, Kai simply listened and went inside. Inside was a little dark so the soldiers turned on a torch which made everything a little visible, there were books with cobwebs and there were also torn paintings with a door behind it, "Isn't that door supposed to be concealed?" Kai asked as he pointed at the torn painting, "Well it used to be," he sadly replied,"

"What happened?" Kai asked,

"There was this ruckus, long ago and I that's a that, better stop asking kid," Kai then went quiet and continued with the soldier, going through the door. The door made a loud creaking sound when it was opened, the soldier strongly pushed the door which almost broke it, "Why won't you open you bastard," the soldier yells out as he slowly adds strength into pushing the door. Suddenly the door opened on the inside making the soldier fall to the ground,

"Oh," a grown woman's voice could be heard, the moment Kai looked what's through the door, he saw a middle-aged woman with red hair, glasses, and a lab coat, "Oh so you must be our visitor, Kai am I right?" the woman's attention shifted from the soldiers on the ground to Kai, "Please come in," she says, the soldier quickly stood up and followed the woman and so did Kai followed.

Through the door was a bright hallway with the floor, ceiling, and walls all painted white. The woman walks straight as she was followed by Kai and the soldier,

"So, Kai, how do you feel?" the woman asked,

"Uncomfortable," Kai simply answered, the woman chuckles,

"Of course you do, my name is Leah, a scientist, nice to meet you," she explained,

"And what's my purpose here?" Kai asked,

"The explanations come later, here is your room," she points at the white door, Kai went to the door and opened it revealing a bed and a rack of books,
