I thought finding the one you loved would be easy and walking out of Spencer's just now gave me the chills of death and darkness. I just needed a choker with lively bright colors and Spencer's had the total opposite. Note that I never been in Spencer's but I was in a rush to get something for my date tonight and it was the closest store near the entrance of the mall. I still didn't get one though, dang, I should've went into Jcpenny. I wasn't thinking correctly. I just needed to be on time for the date and now I'm sitting here in a beautiful scene that movies would pan on and show how a lonely girl like me is waiting on a late date.
UGH!!!!!!!!!! HURRY PLEASE, I DON'T WANT TO LOOK LONELY AND UNCOMFORTABLE! Then I saw him a good twenty feet away and the thing is I had to watch him all the way till he made it to his seat. It seemed like forever and it was extremely awkward. I started looking like I was scrolling on my phone but it was dead. I look so stupid right now. Honestly.
"Hey, excuse me. Are you Julian?" he said.
"Yes I am. I'm Julian."
"Hi Julian, I'm Mason. How are you today?" he said those words as he sat down comfortably in the singularly black chair in front of me.
"I'm doing fine today. I like your tie, very colorful and spazzy." I really did like the tie. Colors really attract my eye and seeing Mason with that type of splashes of paint type color on his tie made me feel less upset about him being late.
"Thank you. I'm really sorry about being late. I was looking for a tie and I couldn't find one so I ran into Jcpenny and snagged a colorful tie to brighten up my neutral outfit."
"Oh, it's ok. I was just looking through Instagram till you came." I just lied I didn't scroll through Instagram. My freaking phone is dead. And the fact that he went into Jcpenny and got what he needed made my blood boil. I should've went there in the first place.
"Well, since you're so kind. Wanna get something to eat?"
"Sure." This place had the best food. It was a good bakery for decent pastries and quick snacks. The donuts are thick and they even have glaze on the inside. Like imagine... glaze on the inside. That's what I'm gonna get, the donut with glaze on the inside. The waiter came by to get our order. He looked like a plain and simple man. He wore a blue shirt (looked like merch from a Youtuber I recognized), some ripped jeans that were black, and some white and black checkered vans. The classic boy type of outfit.
"Hey, welcome to Dave and Tasha's pastries, what will you like today?" I loved Dave and Tasha's pastries, the scenery surrounding the bake shop was beautiful and mouth dropping. There are medium sized pink trees near every small table. Sometimes the petals fall on the shades above and then it drops down in a perfect circle around the table. It's so pretty and lovely. I come to the shop at least four times a week. I read books, or just come here for some peace and quiet, and let me tell you, it has the best peace and quiet.
"You wanna order first?" said Mason.
"Yea. So I'll take 3 glazed donuts with glazed donut filling with a cup of orange juice."
"Ohhhhhhh, so you're the customer that gets that special order I see."
"Yes, I always liked it and it's what I get all the time."
"That's so unique and cool. I'll see if the manger can get your order on our order sign to see if other customers like you would like to try the special order."
"Wow. That'll be so cool.
"Sorry sir. Tell me what you'll like?"
"Hmmmmm. I guess I'll take the pancake confetti cookie."
"Ok. I'll be back with your orders in five."
"Thank you."
"Yes thank you sir." I said
"So, I would like to get to know you Julian. Tell me about yourself?"
"Well, I'm a simple woman looking for a good stable relationship. I want someone to cuddle at night and look under the stars with someone. To take trips and take pictures and post us on instagram. That's what I want."
"That's quite the need list."
"I wouldn't say it's that, but it's something I really want."
"I have a different view on what I want. I want a companion to cook with, and watch movies together and eat popcorn under the blanket. Someone to come home to and explain how my coworkers are such a pain in my rear end."
"Coworkers can be a pain" I laughed.
"Yeah they sure can. And speaking of coworkers, what do you do for a living Julian?"
"I'm a poem writer. It does seem odd because I don't look like your average writer, but I love it. I help people with poem books and I do collaborations too."
"Do you write for companies?"
"Yes, sometimes. Just depends on what they want." As I said those words he started sliding his hand next to mine which was laying on top of my phone. I stared at his hand like he was the devil trying to grab me and take me to his burning hell. I kept saying to myself "Please move, please, please, please....." The waiter came by and gave me my good looking donut with glaze on the inside and outside. It was like a save from his hand inching any further.
"And here's your order." He placed our plates on the table along with our drinks. The shade above us blocked the autumn sun even though it feels good. But when you are far enough the shades go beautifully with the fall decor outside the bakery.
"Thank you so much" I said.
"You're welcome" and he walked off back inside the bakery. We ate our food and enjoyed our time together. We talked for another thirty minutes till we rose up to part ways when he popped the question to me.
"Hey Julian!"
"Yes?"
"Wanna go back to my place?"
What the hell do I say?
