Being followed is very annoying

In the middle of the forest was what seemed to be the scene of an epic battle. Trees were uprooted and turned over. There were weapons and bodies just thrown about on the ground, all of them lifeless except one.

Shawn's eyes slowly opened and it took him a few moments to remember exactly what happened. He had fought these guys then collapsed from exhaustion, he lazily sat up and looked at the scene around him. All this death and carnage was caused by him but he was not phased one bit, the fact that he felt nothing for these people was what scared him the most. It reminded him of something one of his Sargeants used to say to him, something about there being a fine line in war that no man should ever cross but he disregarded those thoughts as quickly as they entered his head because afterall he was nolonger a man.

Shawn felt as though he had went through quite the ordeal almost dying and all that so he was hoping that atleast the rewards were worth the risk. He got to work right away stripping all the useful wares from the bodies. These guys were considerably better geared than the first humans he encountered, they had gear of much higher quality that could surely make his arsenal even greater. He transmuted the items and was given an assortment of materials some of which he could not even pronounce but it seemed as though he was only able to craft the weapons that he already made or something of equalish power. It seemed as though maybe it was time for him to invest some of the points he had been saving.

He began by splitting 5 levels between forging and crafting giving the extra level to forging. With this boost in levels he was now able to see new "blueprint" for weapons he could build which made a smile spread across his face at the thought of increasing his power. Shawn had put 1 more level in luck and accuracy, it had annoyed him in the fight how he had wasted precious bullets missing his targets and he was now fully aware of how useful weapon skills could be and he wanted to test his luck to see if he could get a better one.

He began with upgrading the knife, it was arguable more useful in the previous fight and if it was going to be that important then investing in it's power was definitely worth it. He grabbed the knife from his cloak and began to reforge it melting it down via magic into it's base components and adding the new materials to it. [Cro-Van upgrades : changing stat distribution : skill change (Y)]. After the upgrades had finished the new Cro-Van sat in Shawn's hand, the design stayed pretty much the same but the entire blade felt different and it now had a strange black sheen to it's edge.

Next were the guns which followed the same procedure but used up far more materials. [Dual hand cannons made : keeping name : changing stat distribution : skill change (Y)].

Shawn held the new Jack and Jill in his hands and he could feel the distinct difference in power. He used inspect on them to see all the finer details of the weapon. (Hand Cannons : deals primarily puncture damage, penetrating armor and thick scaly hide. Uses metal alloy bullets only and has no durability).

The hand cannons were a dark silver color with white finish on the edges and the clip, they were beautiful but there was a slight problem. The cannons were only able to use metal alloy bullets meaning all the razor bullets would not be of any use unless he made another pistol which was not a bad idea.

So thats what he decided to do he made another pistol just a one this time instead of a dual and he named it Razor and this time there was no durability thanks to the good quality materials that were used.

Shawn had a good amount of materials left over and put it towards making the cannon bullets, he ended up with 56 metal alloy bullets so enough to full both clips plus 4 sets of extra magazines. As for all the left over metals he combined them with some ignition and thermite powder to make a nasty surprise for his future opponents.

Shawn finished with his crafting and decided to head back the Danafall, he was not sure exactly how long he was out for but it had been more the 10 hours because based on where the sun was it had risen only a few hours ago meaning he slept through the night.

....two days ago...

As soon as Jack had felt that monsterous mana pressure he had decided to run abandoning all his friends out of fear. He was from a small and poor no-name village that was close to the southern border. Once when he was just a boy nothing more than 10 a rouge demon had fled their territory and was looking for shelter which his village provided unaware that he was a demon.

The demon was not bad and actually made village life much easier with his great strength and magical ability but it didn't last long because after about a month or so 3 demons came looking for the man who had fled. After sensing that the 3 were approaching he disappeared before they reached the village. Angered that they had lost their prey once again they mercilessly killed the villagers for harboring a demon fugitive.

Scores of people were killed but a knight had intervened giving his life but stopping the demons in the process harming them to the point that they had to return to their own territory. For good reason the presence earlier had reminded him of that time and his fear was much stronger than his loyalty and he wanted nothing more than to get back to the safety of the Danafall.

Jack had gotten back to the bar, and was quickly approached by the same woman again who wanted to know all the details about the person she had paid them to attack but Jack just pushed passed her and sat down at the table full of nothing but shame. The lady imagined that things had not gone smoothly and decided to pay the man what was promised just for his troubles before leaving the Dewdrop to return to the temple.

Jack on the other hand dealt with his sorrows the only way he knew how, he was going to drink them away and in the back of his mind he knew that Gyus would protect everyone afterall his only job was to track he was not proficient in combat and would have been a hindrance. Yes he thought to himself, he was doing them a favor and with that mindset he bought drinks for everyone and pushed his regret away in the presence of alcohol.

...Next day.....

(Shawn was wrong, he was unconscious for 2 days, it was a good thing for his nature pact making all animals passive towards him unless provoked).

Jack had once again made up some irrational story to help displace his guilt before drowning himself in alcohol again but this time he began speaking about the horned demon he encountered in the forest who was the strength of 50 men, who was 8ft tall and had a snake for a tail which could swallow people alive.

The drunken customers of the tavern were quite amused and enjoyed hearing the epic tails of how this quite scrawny man had best a demon so mighty. All except one, who sat thier listening to story. The story was obviously fabricated but yesterday she did indeed feel a great and monsterous presence in the forest momentarily but before she could begin tracking it, the trail was lost and she had to stop searching but even if the man was lying and this was a dead end she atleast wanted to go check it out.

After the man had finished and everything had quieted down towards the evening she had approached and questioned the man who refused to speak about the demon now that he was sober but after some coaxing, the man felt compelled to tell her nothing but the truth, which he did and after learning everything she was a little disappointed but atleast whoever the man in the woods was he might have been a good warm up before challenging the master again.

....Present...

Shawn had started heading back to Danafall where he once again felt like he was being watched but this time by a professional because he could not detect them whatsoever it was just merely his instinct that was telling him something was wrong.

And it annoyed him more than ever he was tired of being followed and not being able to tell where from. He then began to suck all his mana that was slowly leaking out of his body back inside and then after that he let out a short burst of mana which formed a sphere as it traveled away from his body and as it did he could feel everything in his surroundings both living and non-living.

[New skill unlocked : mana pulse (shoots a wave of mana out of your body in a sphere allowing you to feel all things blocking or interrupting the flow. Drains 2mana per meter per minute)].
