Summer Camp

The next Monday after the students had returned from the internships, Kit was already getting work piled up on her. She had been called into Nezu's office where Kenji Tsuragamae, the Chief of Police, sat her down. Apparently, three students from Aizawa's class had been involved in an attack with a villain called Stain in Hosu City.

What shocked her about this information was that it was the students that had actually caught the villain, but it was Endeavor that took the credit due to legal reasons. With this, she was given the task of talking with the three students to check their mental health, but she was to keep the information classified.

So, as soon as she was released from Nezu's office, she got to work, pulling Iida out of class first. At first he talked as if he wasn't really bothered until he started speaking about his older brother's forced retirement due to this very villain and the want for revenge for him. This turned into talking about how he was disappointed in himself for almost ruining the Iida name with his rash actions and his want for that petty revenge. He spoke briefly about his injury that he planned to keep untreated until he felt he had redeemed himself.

Next, she spoke with Todoroki Shouto. He was actually one of the taller students in his class, though not the tallest, and had a rather muscular build for his age. His hair was long, though not going much past his neck and parted bangs with the left side of his hair being a crimson color while his right was pure white. He also had heterochromia iridium, making his left eye turquoise and his right eye to be a dark grey. This split in color is due to his quirk since he was half hot and half cold. Over the left side of his face down to his cheek was a large burn scar.

He had always been very cool and collected, so when he didn't act like he was too affected by this event, it didn't surprise her. But as soon as she asked how he felt about his father taking the credit, she could almost feel the air shift as if he was using the ice part of his quirk. He actually didn't mind that someone else got the credit since he didn't want to get punished; it was the fact it was his father that was the one who received it. After cooling him down, they spoke about it logically and he finally agreed that while the ending was unfortunate, it was the outcome of a captured villain that mattered.

Lastly, she pulled Midoriya out of class. He actually seemed to be just fine with everything, his sense of justice winning over his pride, thankfully. In fact, he mainly spoke about the progress he made with the help from Gran Torino for the fight. He had gotten a few injuries, but nothing that was as damaging as the ones he had received previously. The only worry he had was for Iida to meet his goal of being a better hero and that the view on the justice system wasn't flawed in Todoroki's eyes. Kit couldn't help but agree and took note of the possibility within Todoroki's file.

After this, the students had practical exams in which Kit observed in the background and agreed with Recovery Girl that Aizawa was a big softy at heart. That or he actually liked his entire class this year. She hadn't figured out which, but she was always entertained watching him at work. But this was already marking the end of the first semester of the school year and Kit couldn't help but think it felt more like an entire year, not just part of one.

Shuzenji Chiyo, the Youthful Heroine: Recovery Girl, was a perspective and insightful elderly woman. She was very short with gray hair that she had into a high netted bun with a large syringe sticking out of the bun much like hair-stick. She had a set of tiny eyes and an equally tiny nose with a wide mouth.

She wore a doctor's lab coat with a white dress under that looked as if she had a yellow and red vest design on each of her sides. In the middle was a belt with a large pink 'R' shaped buckle and up on her chest were two yellow buttons. Her feet were covered by boots and she wore a helmet that came around her head, both pink, but the visor on the front of her eyes was purple tinted. Due to age, she walked with a syringe shaped cane that had a dual purpose to help heal as well.

Currently, Kit was watching from her position on the couch as Aizawa was packing a small bag for the summer training camp that was planned. It was the night before the trip and at the moment, he kept eyeing his extra capture scarf as if contemplating if he would need it or not. He also almost looked as if he was excited about this trip and Kit couldn't help but wonder why.

Yamada walked into the room, a hand scratching his chest from under his shirt, "Are you seriously thinking about taking your extra scarf? It's just training camp." He plopped down next to Kit, "Training camp changed last minute to be with the Pussycats, right? It must be nice to hang out with them again."

What the students didn't know was that the school, for the first time, was going to have the first years in the heroes' course ALL take the provisional exams. Sure, in previous years, a select few that showed a lot of potential would get tested, but not an entire class. She had been an extra special case since she had her license exam the first semester of her first year.

Looking over at Yamada, her eyes caught the skin of his toned stomach that still showed as he kept a hand under his shirt as if forgetting it was there, "Pussycats? I don't think I've heard of them."

"Well, they're actually called the Wild, Wild Pussycats, but we all go way back." Mic put a finger to his chin, then thought out loud, "Wasn't it the blond one who confessed her feelings to you after a mission?"

Aizawa threw his best friend a dark look, "Yes and I don't need any reminders about that."

This caused Kit to frown and wonder exactly why Aizawa didn't seem to be particularly fond of the reminder. Did he refuse her? Did they end up dating and it did not work out? If they did date, did she dump him or did he dump her? Her heart then froze when thought more about the name of their group; did this girl who confessed to him have a cat quirk? She knew that he had a love for cats, having seen his stash of cat magazines before, but would he date someone just because they had a cat quirk?

"Kit?" Aizawa called with Yamada elbowing her in the side, "Are you okay? I asked you a question."

"Oh, sorry, I just was… thinking about something." She grumbled the last part.

"Did you have plans for summer break?" He questioned for the second time.

She scrunched up her face, "I'm going to be completing my student files so that I'm ready for second semester."

"So you'll be busy then." Kit watched as he seemed to decide that he didn't need the extra scarf, "I was going to say that you could come out at the end of the week and I'd introduce you to them. They also have some nice hot springs out there that you could relax in."

Kit ducked her head, "I already got a building key for the week. I don't want to waste any time. I'm sorry..." She let her tails twitch a little, "Maybe some other time?"

"Maybe if we can find the time." He agreed and disappeared back into his room.

Kit sighed, her ears drooping, "I feel like I'm always disappointing him." She looked at the man at her side, "What are you going to do for summer break?"

"I'm picking up some extra hours in the studio." He became very excited after saying this, "Maybe if you find some free time, you could come be a guest?"

"I don't think I'll be a guest, but I'll come out and sit with you maybe." She gave a nervous laugh at the idea of actually talking on the radio; HPSC would have a field day giving her a lecture.

Aizawa came back in with his now completely packed bag and set it on a chair, "I don't want to bring too much." He looked at the time that was below their television, "I'm going to go to bed early." He looked at Kit then, "Will you be okay walking home alone?"

"Why doesn't she just crash on the couch?" Yamada then suggested.

Aizawa froze up, eyeing the couch that Kit and Yamada were sitting on, "I guess she can."

She blinked at both of the men, "I don't know if that will look right… I'll just go home."

"No, no. What no one knows won't hurt anyone." Yamada stood and went over to a closet, "I'll get out the extra bedding."

Kit looked down at her clothing, "I don't have anything to wear, so…"

"Shouta, get her one of your shirts and some sweat pants she can tie up or something." Mic was now holding a folded blanket while still searching for the pillow.

"Uh...yeah." Aizawa seemed to still be in shock as he went back into his room to come out a few minutes later, "You're much smaller than I am, but here…"

Kit looked as he held out a black long sleeved shirt and a pair of dark sleep pants and took them gently from him, "I don't want to put you out."

He sighed deeply, "You're not."

"He is just nervous cause a pretty girl is going to be sleeping just a room over." Yamada set down a set of bed clothes, "Go change and I'll make the couch up for you."

"Hizashi!" Aizawa scolded as Kit stood to go to their bathroom to change.

Kit quickly slipped off her costume before slowly putting on the sleep pants and shirt, finding the material ultra soft. The shirt came almost to the area just above her knees and she could've technically just worn that if she wasn't worried about being indecent. The pants she had to tie up tightly so they didn't fall and they bunched quite a bit at her feet.

She poked her head out of the bathroom to see both men sitting on the other couch that was in their living room, "Yeah, you were not kidding that they would be a little big on me." She walked out finally, her fingertips just barely sticking out the bottom of the sleeves and sat on the now made up couch, "Thank you for letting me stay."

"I almost feel like you're being forced to stay." Aizawa was glaring at Mic.

Acting innocent, Mic grinned at her, "We wouldn't want anything to happen to you on your way home." This caused Kit and Aizawa to send him doubtful looks, "What? Female heroes get attacked all the time at night, even the best of them... and it isn't like we're not all adults here."

"Sometimes I wonder." Aizawa muttered, then looked at Kit, "Feel free to get anything in the refrigerator in the night if needed. It should be fully stocked since I grocery shopped the other day." He pointed down the hallway, "You can always come wake me up if you need something else."

"Okay." Kit sent him a small smile.

Yamada stood then and began to walk towards his own room, "Good night, Little Listener. I'll see you in the morning."

Aizawa sat across from her for a few minutes longer, seeming to be looking at nothing before standing, "Well, goodnight, Kit." He eyed her space on the couch, "I hope the couch will be comfortable enough for you."

"Oh, it will be, I'm sure." Kit pressed a hand into a cushion, "Sleep well."

He lingered in the doorway while she stood up to adjust the clothing again and get under the covers before disappearing into his own room.

Kit looked at the time below the television for the umpteenth time that night. It was already a little after before six in the morning and she knew Aizawa would be waking up soon to get ready to leave. Throwing back the blankets, she quickly cleaned up the bedding to leave them neatly folded at the end of the couch and then made her way into the kitchen.

A little over thirty minutes later, Kit's ears twitched to hear a door open and scuffing footsteps making their way into the dining room, "Kit, what are you doing up so early?"

She looked up to see an even scruffier than normal Aizawa, "I, uh, wanted to thank you guys for letting me stay last night… So I fixed you all breakfast." She went over to the counter where she stood in front of a freshly brewed coffee pot, "Coffee or tea?"

"Coffee, please." He sat down at the table, eyeing her as she moved around the kitchen, "Did you sleep okay?"

"Oh, yeah." She lied, but he didn't need to know that, "How did you sleep?"

"I'll be catching some sleep on the ride out into the mountains, if that says how well I slept." He gave her a nod when she set his coffee in front of him, placing creamer and the sugar next to it, though she knew he only drank his coffee black.

"I'm sorry." Kit frowned, "I hope me being here didn't bother you."

"It didn't…" Then he quickly corrected himself, "It doesn't." He watched then as she began to set out plates of food onto the table, "You must have been awake for a while now for you to fix all of this."

"Not really. I started around six, I think." She turned to bring over a couple of more dishes, "I don't think it took me that long."

"God, what is that amazing smell?" Yamada's sleep-ridden voice came next as he walked through to the kitchen, "You made breakfast? You're an angel, Kit."

Kit blushed at the compliment, "No, I just wanted to help out."

Yamada sat down across from Aizawa and eyed the food, "Gohan, miso, tsukemono, yakizakana, tamagoyaki…" He named off a few other things she set out, "Was there anything you didn't make?"

Kit placed a teapot in the middle of the table to finish setting up before sitting down as well, "I can replace what I fixed later…"

He smacked his forehead, "That wasn't what I meant."

"If you try to replace this, I'll make Hizashi cook…" Aizawa gave her a deadpan look, "His cooking could kill you with the smell alone."

Kit giggled almost madly as Yamada just let his jaw drop and Kit attempted to sober up, "You better get your fill before you need to leave."

"Ah, yeah." Aizawa looked at the clock on the stove, then began to fill his plate, "Thank you for the meal."

"Thank you." Yamada looked at her seriously, "Normally, we just get breakfast at the school or on the way to the school."

"I don't mind cooking, actually." Kit watched Yamada fill his plate and when he finished, she picked out a few things too, "I find it relaxing."

"You are in the wrong career." Yamada told her between bites.

Aizawa nodded at this even, "I believe you could get Lunch Rush a run for his money."

"I doubt that." Kit shook her head.

After they were all done eating, Aizawa left to go shower before he needed to get to the school while Yamada claimed he was still tired. Kit found herself packing the leftovers into their fridge and making quick work of the dishes.

"You could've left the dishes to Hizashi, you know?" Aizawa came back in, looking fresh.

She looked over at him while she patted her hands dry, "You know I couldn't do that." She sniggered, "With your luck, he would leave them there until you got back."

This caused him to grimace, "You might be right." He picked up his bag, "I'm going to head to the school. Are you going home?"

"For a bit; I need to shower." She went over to the couch and picked up the clothes he let her wear, "I'll get these clean for you for when you get back."

"If you're ready, I'll walk you to your block." He offered.

"Sure." She grabbed her small bag of things, and met him by the door as she put her shoes on.

They walked in silence until they got to the street where her home was and he gave her a small smile, "Thank you for the breakfast."

"Anytime." She gave him a bright smile, "Be careful and enjoy yourself the best you can… I'll see you when you get back."

"Definitely." He replied softly, then began making his way towards the path to the school, "Don't work too hard."

Kit watched as he disappeared up the path, but couldn't get the sinking feeling from her stomach to go away for the rest of the day.
