"This is it, that's the house you're looking for." Mervin calmly stated as his tone carried a bit of uncertainty.
Nervousness would be the best way to describe it, he was not so motivated to enter a crazy lady's den.
It's harsh to call it a den at this point, it's far from being poor and out dated. Quite the contrary, it carried such an elegant style and signified riches.
Red tiles covered the roof which itself is worth enough to build 3 lesser houses considering how rare this material was.
At this point Delion was surprised how her roof wasn't stolen, but yet when the term crazy was used, he understood why.
Apart from the tiles, the house was made from solid polished cobblestone, illuminating a light blue aura.
And the windows on this large house carry glass, which itself wasn't so hard to obtain but the woodwork carrying it seemed fancy, encrusted by another layer of wood that gestured a dragon shaped carving.
This house might have about 4 bedrooms, and several other lesser or bigger rooms that usually don't feature anything private.
Whomever this crazy old lady might be, she's most definitely filthy rich!
But what important would gold play at this point hmmm? She's old and crazy, Mervin even described how she lived alone because all of her kids left her.
But of course Delion protected the crazy old lady's back just because she honoured their 'grandmother' and therefore only spoke sweetly about her.
In this moment, the skilled detective figured out that he might have been too rough against Mervin's claims, this lady didn't deserve all those praises.
He figured that out once a foul odour hit his face once they walked too close to the house.
It smelt like something died here, revived and then died again after falling in grade A manure.
It's horrible, Delion almost puked all of his lunch out but stood strong for the sake of getting one step closer towards solving this head scratching mystery.
A minor dilemma struck them, no matter how loud they shouted for the old lady to appear, she didn't plan to cooperate.
"Misses Galius!" The tag along shouted, calling by the last name.
Although not used to shouting, Delion gave it a try as well for the sake of moving forward with his plans.
Although his tone shone half in comparison, "Misses Galius!"
And once more she didn't answer the door so Mervin shouted for the 7th time now. "Come out lady, we came to visit you!"
Coming to a conclusion and not liking it at all come to think of it, Delion pitched. "Man, what if she died?"
Coming up with an idea, he answered. "Maybe... uh can you give me a boost so I can climb up that window over there."
It was weird how the windows are 4 meters above ground level but with a lady that carried craze, nothing was too surprising.
Although not a fan of breaking an entering, this well titled detective would do anything just to solve this whole mess of a massacre and get back to Ambers.
So he leaned closer towards the walls and tied his hands into a knot while syncing into a squat, encouraging. "Come, you will have to reach out after I throw you."
Seeing it as a proper plan, Mervin nodded and charged forward with that prime intent to get his hands on the fancy windows.
Before he knew it, vision was temporarily taken away by what felt like a strong swing against his head after a shadow caught the quarter of the eye.
Reflexive no doubt, Delion alured his gaze towards the newcomer and spotted a lady dressed in a single cloth white dress.
She wasn't no princess or angel when one would take a moment to reflect deeper, the wrinkles on the lady's face disagree with every theory that was built under a second.
But the dress she's wearing was beautiful, long enough for it's end to be drawn across the floor and baggy enough to cover the lady from neck to toe.
She was even wearing some white fluffy scarf around her neck, and her pure white hair were all combed in place and portrayed a massively clean and elegant individual.
However, her language doesn't nearly meet with all the fangled fashion to her disposal.
She glared at Mervin and yelled, "The fuck for what window mine you climb? God forsaken shoe fucker you!"
Fixing her gaze towards Delion, she swings her stick towards the man but thankfully hits him below the knee.
Forced the big (5.9ft) man jump thanks to that sudden shock of pain but at least his fate is pale in comparison to Mervin who took it to the face.
Breaking into a more proper conversation, misses Galius asked. "The hell do you here?"
"Our cousin here wants to pay you respects, because of the tomb you built for Selia..." Mervin explained, still on the ground and rubbing his forehead.
Her face turning towards sweetness, the old lady smiled and cited. "In come in come, smarter you sound than cousin laying there."
Thankful that he wasn't getting beaten by a walking cane, Delion smiled and took a step closer towards the door, and what captured his vision would be tough for most.
There was a big dead rat just about a meter away from the door, furry and it's tail a foot long.
Truly disgusting, it being dead would force cringing into most souls especially considering the smell it radiated.
Delion wasn't really bothered by this scene considering all the corpses he had to handle through his entire career.
But what was more disturbing stood in 4 paws, alive. There was a bobcat right next to the dead rat, feeding on it!
Now definitely carrying a smile, he reached towards the bobcat to pet it and cited. "Oh, I love bobcats!"
"Grrr!" It answered, thinking that this dark clothed stranger will take its delicious meal.
Clack!
Turning around, he spotted that lady Galius had locked the front door, leaving Mervin out.
Locking her eyes with this, the old lady demands. "Upstairs with me come."
