While Jack was eating breakfast he asked little light to open the system again and saw that his mana and speed have increased but he noticed that his running skill had gone up.
'Little light what does the running skill do??'
'Why are you only nice to me when you're asking for something'
'No reason'

'Open please'
'Fine'
Jack started to think that little light has been starting to act a bit more lively when speaking to him and he liked that a bit, liking that she's getting more personality other than saying yes, no or something stupid

"can you open the hunting skill now? "

can only be levelled up if knowledge is gained on beasts and animals

'what are skills exactly or is my authority level not high enough?'
Little light paused for a second as if looking for something before she started to speak
'it says that there just skills you had anyway but they do get a small boost as you level up, apparently, you can buy more in the shop menu if you want'
'I thought the shop was unavailable?'
'it is'

'Anywho, for now on I want you to let me know if things update in the menu'

Jack read over the skills one more time before getting little light to close the menu and soon after his mum walked out of the bedroom.
"you're up early," she said slightly surprised that he's up before her.
"Yeah, I was thinking of heading out early to practice a bit before everyone else shows up" he responded
"That's odd it's only been a day of training and you already seem obsessed?" she said confused.
'Hmm, she's right why am I going so early?' but as soon as Jack thought this he remembered the moment his uncle fired that arrow and the tree began burning, he began to feel that hunger again but didn't know what to do with it.
'well if I want to satisfy this hunger I'll probably need to get stronger and I can't do that without training' he thought
Not knowing how to put it Into words for his mother he just went
"dunno"
And left for the same area he trained yesterday.
He thought to himself that he can't really practice his knife skills alone so thought back to yesterday's lesson and remember Josh said to try practising those punches if they had the time and Jack decided to try that.
He decided not to practice his spells in the morning because he intended to tire himself out during magic practice and needed to be ready to rest after.
'maybe I really do like to train' Jack thought to himself
Jack tried to remember how josh stood during yesterday's lesson and replayed the punches he saw in his mind, he threw his left hand and then his right but noticed that it didn't feel any different from when he punched normally, he tried replaying the memory in his head again but just couldn't see it, what he was doing wrong, he tried again and again but couldn't figure it out.
'little light any ideas?' he ended up asking
'you do know you're meant to twist your body right'
And it suddenly hit jack like a brick, he immediately tried doing the punches again but this time he twists his body as he threw each punch and instantly noticed a difference his jab now felt faster and his straight felt like it had more power behind it, he continued to practice this in a sort of trance-like state doing nothing but twist and punch after a while he tried to think of ways he could use his heavier spell into this.
But before he had a chance…
"well look who's here early," a happy voice said
Jack looked up and saw his uncle josh walking up to him and he seemed to be smiling ear to ear
"little lazy Jack, seeing you up so early and ready to go is a real nice change of pace from when you where little I'm almost proud"
"Thanks, uncle Josh," Jack said thinking again why he's trying so hard for something he didn't even want until yesterday.
"I see you were practising your one-two punches, come on let's see what you got," Josh said as he held out his hands ready to get punched
"hang on let me try something," Jack said as he coated his all his fingers with mana he thought to himself

And the mana started to sink into his fingers, he didn't put much into it so it was only slightly heavier than before but still noticeable, he had to focus to keep the spell active in his hands causing the usual headache.
"Oh, have you figured out what your magic does?" josh said slightly excited wanting to see what it does
Jack didn't say anything and got his feet in the right place to throw the punches.
As Jack threw the first punch josh noticed it looked slower than what he was seeing when he first saw Jack doing before walking up to him, but thought it was just his imagination, but he was shocked when the first jab landed on his hand, he felt the same weight behind it that a low end straight can produce, and when the actual straight came it felt like he was being hit with a heavy rock.
Josh was shocked with the amount of power and weight behind those punches, because they a good portion above the average power someone of Jack's build Could do normally but they were not to an unbelievable level, he was throwing the punches about the same strength as Helmers had, the reason it was so shocking was because helmer is a good chunk taller than jack and was more muscular than.
Jack got rid of the spell before Josh started to talk
"Is that a spell that makes you stronger or something?" he asked in an excited tone, he had met some people with enhancement abilities before when adventurers would stop by there village before going into the woods to hunt and knew how strong they could be.
"No," Jack said sensing the disappointment hitting Josh
"It just lets me make body parts heavier, I discovered it last night as I was practising" Jack lied not wanting to reveal the systems helping him.
"well that explains why the punch was heavy, how heavy can you go?"
"About 2 kg in one finger before the headache starts to get unbearable but after halfway I start to become unable to move my finger properly," Jack said
Jack and Josh talked for a bit and decided that Jack should try coating his hands with a little bit of weight during training, he would become a bit slower than normal and it'll be a bit harder to move but that's the point, it would both train his body, with the extra weight, and mana by keeping it active.
When the twins finally arrived Helmer seemed a bit upset that Jack got a head start on training but Dave didn't seem to mind much and quality got out his bow and arrows, but what shocked Jack was he instantly covered his arm with lightning and cut his finger with the arrow, he wiped blood all over the tip when it suddenly caught lightning, he showed one of his rare smiles and instantly went to shoot the arrow, aiming at one of the beast targets but when he fired the arrow it went twice as fast as it did the day before and embedded most of itself into the tree, Dave was truly smiling now and went to retrieve his arrow.
"looks like he took my advice and got himself some metal tipped arrows, that can't of been cheap" Josh whispered to jack.
