'little light can you explain what the shop is for me please'
'sure'
'the shop is a place where you can buy spells, techniques and weapons, more items become available when you level up'
'and I'm assuming I buy these skills with points?'
'yes'
'how do u get more?'
'it says by doing quests and stuff like that, or doing specific things like hunting and killing beasts'
'it says I can unlock more stuff by levelling up, how do I do that'
'that actually relates to that XP option you just unlocked, when you gain a certain amount of XP you level up and allows you to increase in power atomically instead of overtime'
Jack's ears perked at the words, power, he still didn't know why he was so interested in it but after beating his uncle he was beginning to understand.
Jack was very interested in the things currently in the shop but knowing there was probably no way to get his hands on them currently he decided to leave it.
The next day Jack didn't arrive early to the forest edge because there was no need to, he needed to save his energy for what the group would be doing today, hunting.
When everyone had arrived everyone except Josh had different faces than normal, both Jack and helmer looked excited and Dave looked determined while Josh looked the same as usual before normal lessons.
"now today we'll be hunting around the outer edges of the forest. I'll be teaching you how to track and hunt some of the weaker animals of the forest and also to hide your presence a bit understand? , we'll do this for a few days and try moving on to some of the bigger ones which are a bit more hostile, is everyone ready?"
They all gave a nod
Jack and the others entered the forest and walked around for a while before coming upon some animal tracks, Josh held up his hand to signal the group to stop and then pointed to the paw-shaped tracks.
"Before I tell you, can any of you work out how many basic tier wolfs are in this pack?"
Jack looked down on the tracks and it looked as if there were 3 sets of paws in the mud but looking closer Jack noticed something no one else did.
"4," Jack said
"So you noticed as well," Dave said after
"noticed? Noticed what? shouldn't it be 3?" Helmer said looking confused
"look at the middle tracks"
Helmer looked the tracks again and noticed something odd, it was as if the wolf was walking everywhere twice.
"there was a wolf behind it?" Helmer asked
"Good job you 3" josh said
"looks like this is a pack of 4 basic tier wolfs, should be perfect for your first proper hunt"
"Basic tier?" Jack asked confused
"Oh right you guys haven't been taught this stuff yet"
"Ok I don't know too much about it and how it works but I learnt a bit from adventures passing by the village, beasts can be broken down into different tiers, I only know what the first 4 are called so forgive me"
"basic tier is the first and pretty much range from mice to untrained adults, you can usually find these in the outer rings of the forest, next is medium, these tend to be larger than basic tier and a lot more dangerous, next is an advance tier, these beasts are about as physically strong as medium-tier but the difference is they can use basic magic around the same level as me, if you guys found a medium-tier you'll have a slight problem but if you bump into an advanced tier, run."
he said that last part in a serious tone like it was not up for debate.
"but were only hunting on the outer edge of the forest, and there are only 7 advance tier beasts that we currently know of in the deeper parts of the forest so no need to worry"
"The 4th tier is called master tier and this is where something that adventures call 'the gap' appears."
"while a basic tier, medium-tier and advanced tier are on similar levels, master tier is on another plane of power, 1 master tier is worth around 40 advanced tiers and will need a whole group of experienced adventures to take down"
It was at this moment Jack felt exited, while the other 2 seemed slightly nervous at the idea of something that strong Jack had a wide smile creeping on his face
'I wonder if I can be that strong'
