"So you're Kelsha's new champion?
Jake heard a voice coming from the door. He looked over to see a yellow haired man. He was wearing some grey shorts with a yellow short-sleeve shirt. "Who are you?" "God of electricity, Pretanos. So I'm guessing you're Kelsha's new champion?" The man had a high voice and talked fast. "Woah there *lash, could you slow it down?" "What? My mouth?" "Yep." "No. Not going to do it." "Fine then dickface, don't. Anyways, what's this duel about?" "It's simple, you fight my champion. The champion who wins gets rewarded. The winning god gets some popularity points." Jake had the fleeting feeling of relief that he had deactivated his vampire form for the fact that he would probably be attacked by the goddess from before.
Jake laughed. "Popularity points?!" He laughed some more. "What is this?! Fucking kindergarten?!" "Shut up mortal! We did not name them! That honor belongs to the goddess of creation. Praise her." The god bowed upon saying this. Kelsha did the same. "Is this goddes fucking five?! HAHAHA!" Suddenly Jake was struck by a punch. *BLEH* He went flying.
"You bastard! How dare you talk Ill of our goddess?! I will break you!" Jake was surprised, yet felt no pain. Contrary to the numbness, there was a large dent in his cheek. The god had struck him ridiculously fast. "Damn! Is that you *arry Allen?" "Who is this *arry Allen you speak of?!" "Well wouldn't you love to know?" "YOU DARE TO TALK DOWN TO A GOD?! DIE FOR YOUR INSOLENCE!"
The god disappeared from his spot and appeared under Jake. Jake barely dodged it. "Woah hold it Pretanos!" Kelsha yelled at the god. "NO! HE WILL PAY-" Jake slapped him. across the face.
*AAH* The god was surprised. "How did you strike me?!" "With my hand. Also, aren't you the god of electricity, not speed?" "I do not ask questions I do not need answers to." "But didn't you ask if I was Kelsha's champion?" "Uh, um, Shut it mortal!" "You're pretty blunt huh?" "I'LL KILL YOU!" Jake slapped him again. He was missing twenty percent of his stamina from using super speed.
"STOP HITTING ME!" "Very well. Anyway, what do these popularity points do?" "They unlock benefits for the god involved." "Such as?" "Being allowed to send miracles to the mortal world, money, better social standing, plus other things." "Interesting. Anyway, where Is this duel taking place?" "The Coliseum." "Do we like teleport there or like...?" "No? You just go through the door and over to the coliseum."
"Wait, I can just go outside?" "Yes, of course. Has Kelsha not told you this?" "No?! Kelsha!" "Well, uh, y'know, I was uh, planning on telling you eventually..." "You bitch! I could've been out seeing cool stuff this whole time!" "Hey Jake, is it okay to be mad at a goddess?" "Only if you're stronger. Anyway, when does this duel happen?"
"Thirty minutes." "Hell yeah! That means I can explore!" "You will need to meet me at the coliseum at the designated time. Take this, press the cube to see where to go." The god handed him a small glass cube. "Yeah yeah, whatever. Let's go Rena!" "HUH?!" Jake grabbed Rena's hand and lead her over to the door. He pushed the door open only to be greeted by an incredible sight.
The realm he was in was breathtaking. He was on a large ring like grassy area. There was blue sky above him. There were more rings above him, and he assumed below him. Scattered around the grassy plain were different buildings. Each had a sign out front with a different signature. "Woah! This is awesome!" Rena was standing there dumbstruck.
In front of Kelsha's... Castle? Was a bridge. It was made from metal. It lead to door. Kelsha had followed them out. "Wait wait wait wait wait!" Kelsha had a hard time running in high heels. "Before you guys do anything, I've gotta explain some stuff!" Kelsha made it to them. "First, don't break stuff. Second, don't start fights without challenging someone to a duel. Three, dont do anything illegal. Also, those bridges lead to the marketplace. It's a place where gods and champions fan buy things, Skills, Magic books, weapons, you get it. Also, the things there can be absurdly expensive, so be careful. Anyways, have fun."
Kelsha turned back to the house. "Wait, Kelsha. I have something to say." She turned around. "What?" "Its pretty impressive that you're still wearing your normal clothes. Most people I introduce to anime become lazy neets who wear tee-shirts and shorts." "Yeah... Couldn't be me!" Kelsha walked away swiftly. "Anyway, let's go take a look at the market."
Jake walked over to the bridge. At the end was a wooden door. Jake walked over to it. "I'm gonna release my demon features. They feel a bit cramped." Jake looked quite unassuming. He was wearing a green shirt and gray sweatpants. He was completely normal, putting aside his demon features that is. "Let's go!" He pushed open the door. It was... Less dramatic than he thought it would be. There was a small flow of foot traffic. Jake stepped into the door.
"This is less dramatic than I thought." Said Rena. "Same here." Jake looked around. There were a few shops, but that's it. Jake summoned his bubble. "Hop in m'lady." "Alright." Rena stepped in. Jake closed the door, then flew up. He saw that the main hub of activity was toward the center. "Let's go over there." Jake flew over to the main hub of activity.
Upon getting above the center, he took a look. It was bustling with people. Jake flew down. He deactivated the bubble upon landing. "This place looks cool." Suddenly, Jake remembered something. "FUCK! I FORGOT CORRELSHIA!" Jake panicked a bit. "Oh wait, I remember." Jake activated his portal skill.
"Okay so how do I... Jake opened a portal by thinking of where he wanted to go. "Well that works." "That's crazy!" "Yep. Anyway, come here." "Yep." Rena walked through the portal with him. Jake was suddenly portaled to the surface. Laying on the ground sleeping was Correlshia. "Hey Correlshia." She kept snoring. Jake walked over and shook her shoulders.
"Huh? Whatsit?" She said sleepily. "We're finished with the dungeon." "Yeah alright." Correlshia got up and stretched, letting out a large yawn. "So where are we going now?" "Come with me." Jake opened a portal. "What's this?" Correlshia asked while looking at the portal. "A portal." "Well yes but-" "Just follow me." Jake stepped through the portal.
Correlshia followed him through the portal. Upon seeing the other side, Correlshia was impressed. "So where are we?" "The gods realm, or domain, or dimension, not sure what to call it to be honest. More specifically, were in the shopping area. Anyway, I'm planning on going down there and looking around." "Can I buy stuff?" "Really? I never took you as the type to buy stuff." "I feel like there will be some interesting things to see."
"Fair enough. Take this." Jake handed her ten golds. "This is a lot." "The things here are expensive." "Alright." "Anyways, I'm going to land. After that, feel free to go wherever." "You have your demon features out, is there a reason why?" "Because it feels nice to have them out." "It's the same with me." "Really?" "Yep. I just keep them in out of consideration for you."
"Don't feel too pressed to do that. If you feel the need to spread them, feel free." "I'll do that right now then." Coreelshia sprouted wings. The skin part was covered in crimson red scales, and the membrane part was whitish tan. "Damn, those are some nice wings." Said Jake without thinking. Correlshia's face went red. "Th-thanks, anyway can we just go?" "Yep." Jake lowered the orb down.
He created a door on the bubble. Everyone stepped out. "Anyways, have fun Correlshia. Oh also-" Jake used creation magic to create a map. "Follow this map to go to Kelsha's door. The castle you'll see upon exiting is Kelsha's castle. Go there upon finishing up. Tell her that Jake sent you." "Alright." Correlshia stuffed the map in her pocket. "Anyways, let's go look for cool stuff."
Jake looked around. There were quite a few buildings around. Jake walked to the first one that caught his eye. It was a shop called "Skills for sale". "That looks interesting, let's check it out." "Alright." Jake walked over to the uncreatively named shop to see what there was to buy.
He pushed open the wooden doors. Inside was what seemed like a movie store. All around the shop were bookshelves. They were filled with different colored squares. There were signs that indicated the type of skill, such as Combat, Utility, Defence, and other such categories. Jake was surprised by how many there were.
"This is so cool Jake!" "I know right?" There were people all around the store. Some were buying things, while others were examining the colored squares. "Let's go see what's up." Jake walked over to a random shelf under the category, Combat. There were a ton of colored squares. He pulled one out at random.
He looked at it. It was labeled (Mirror fist). "What's this do?" "Do you need help?" An irritated voice asked from beside him. *WAH* Jake was spooked. He looked to the side and saw a woman with black, medium length hair. She had a pink flower in it. "How did you get beside me?" "Not willing to share. Now tell me, do you need help?" The woman had her eyes slightly squinted.
"Why are you irritated at me?" "Well I wonder. It couldn't be the fact that you're dressing up as a demon to spook my customers could it?" "Dressing up?" "Well yes, it's not like you're actually a demon. No demon would be let into the gods realm." "Well funny story..." The womans eyes squinted further. "I do not care for your fooling around. I will ask once more. Do you need help?"
"Yes, actually. What does this skill do?" "That is mirror fist. Upon activation, it will imbue your next hit with the effect if hitting twice at once." "That's awesome! Also, what do these colors indicate?" "The rarity of the skill." "Interesting."
"Might I inquire where you got your magic hiding skill from?" "My what?" "Magic hiding skill. I would like to know who made it. I am one of the owners of this shop and I would like to get in contact with the creator." "What magic am I hiding?" "Your illusion magic of course. After all, almost all magic releases an aura. Illusion magic is no exception."
"What if I told you these are real?" "I would simply not believe it. No demon can get into the gods realm." "Well sorry, but I did." "Answer this, if you were a demon, would you not be releasing an aura? Also, how would you get into here if you truly were a demon?" "One, if I didn't hide my aura, it would be similar to slapping a wasp's nest. Two, what If i have the (Portal creation) skill?"
"Fair enough. But tell me, should I report you for being a demon?" "If you feel inclined to do so. It's not like I'm gonna stop you." The woman squinted more. "You are quite odd. Moving on, if you need help with something, come ask me." And with this, the woman left. He put the (Mirror fist) skill back. He grabbed a blue one. (Splitting strike). "Boring." Jake grabbed a gray one. (Spicy body). "That's pretty funny." Jake put it back.
"See anything Ren-" Jake looked around to find that Rena was gone. "Where'd she go?" Jake looked around some more. He walked through the aisles looking for her. Suddenly, he spotted her. She was looking through some skills in the support section. "Heya Rena." She looked up.
"O-oh, uh, hi." "Looking for something?" "Nothing in particular. Just something to help." "That's nice. See anything that caught your attention?" "Well only a few." "Which ones?" "Well theres this one called (Stamina shield). It's really good for a creature like me with lots of stamina." "Creature? Aw come on, you're no creature. You're a person." "Sorry, yeah." Rena looked down.
"Why the self deprecation?" "People keep giving me hateful glances. It made me upset." Rena looked pretty upset. "Wanna tell me which ones? I can go put the fear of god in em for you." Said Jake with badly hidden rage. "No, it's fine. I don't want you to get in trouble for me. Anyway, let's talk about skills." "Sounds good. What other skills did you find?"
"Well theres this one called (Boost strength) and a few others like it." "Huh. If you find something you want, let me know." "Alright." Jake walked over to a utility shelf. He grabbed a green one. (Identify wild fruit). "Seems kind of useful." He put the square back. Jake picked a blue one out. (Butcher creature). "Pretty useful as well." Jake was done looking around. He walked back over to rena.
"Find anything yet?" "Yeah. This one." Rena showed him a square. (Give skill). It was purple. "Holy crap! That's an incredible skill! Where'd you find it?" "I found it in the clearance section over there. I thought that it would work well with your skill." Rena pointed towards the back of the store. "Cool. Anyway, let's go see the price for this."
Jake walked over to the counters near the entrance of the store. At the counter Jake went to was a was a dark blue haired woman. "Hello." The woman squinted like the other woman. "Hello sir. What are you buying?" "This." Jake put the square down. "Is this all?" "Yes." "Why are you buying this?" "Because I want it." "You do realize that you give away skills with this right?" "Listen lady, I'm not blunt."
"Whatever. Anyway, although this is an super rare tier skill, nobody wants it. So it costs thirty gold." "Alright then." Jake took out thirty gold and handed it to the woman. "Alright, all seems to be in order. This belongs to you now." The woman handed him the disk. "Please come with me." The woman walked towards the back of the store.
Jake followed her. Eventually, they reached a door. The woman put her hand on a small panel next to the door.
'A hand scanner? Neat.'
The door opened. "Please come in here." The woman lead them into the room. Inside the room were a few machines. They had a slot in the top. They also had a slot for a hand in the side. "Please come insert your skill here." The woman pointed to a machine next to her.
"Alright." Jake put the skill square in the machine. "Now put your hand in. Please be warned, this is a new type of technology that is more efficient. If you experience any side effects please let us know." "Got it." Jake put his hand into the machine. *Vrrrr* The machine started making noise.
After a few seconds, the skill square faded to grey.
[New skill gained: (Give skill).]
"You should get the skill soon." "Yep, already got it." "How do you know?" "Special reasons." "Whatever. Anyway, please come again sir." "Yep." Jake walked out of the room. Rena was waiting at the counter for him. "Hey." "Hi." They both walked out of the store. "Let's try out this skill."

Jake faced Rena. He thought of the skill. He activated the skill again.
[Skill gifted: (Bladed armor generation).]
Rena's eyes opened wide. "Did you just give me (Bladed armor generation)?" "Yep. That's awesome though isn't it?" "This is crazy!" "I know right? Anyway, let's go see other cool things." "Okay. First I want to try this skill." "Fair enough."
Rena looked like she was doing something. If she had her status up, Jake wouldn't be able to see it. He had turned the option off a while ago to respect both girls privacy. The option to had appeared after leveling up.

Suddenly, a breastplate appeared on Rena. It was made from bone. It had sharp spikes along the front. "That looks sick." "Sick?" "It means awesome." "Ah." "Anyway, we've got somewhere around twenty minutes left to do crap." "Really?" "Yep." "Well, let's go do stuff." Jake started walking forward down the street. He passed by a few stores.
First was a weapon store called "Cutting edge". Jake felt no need to buy any weapons. Second was a book store called "Word lovers". Third was a Training building called "Mana martial arts". "Hey, what's that?" "The mana martial arts one?" "Yeah." "Well I would assume it's some type of dojo." "Wait, theres dojos in this world?" "Yes. They are usually buildings made by people selling martial art practice." "Interesting. I'm gonna go in there."
"Why?" "Well usually I use my fists and such. So having practice in martial arts is a pretty good idea." "Fair point. I'll come too." "You want lessons?" "Yeah." "Okay then, let's go." Jake began walking over to the dojo. Before he reached the dojo, he had a thought. "Who makes these shops? I doubt all of the owners are gods." "Good question. Im not really sure." The door was white. He pushed it open, and saw exactly what he expected.
There were people practicing martial arts. The one instructing them was a balding bearded man. He had gray hair from age. He was instructing and correcting the people who were currently training. A woman walked over to Jake. "Hello sir, what do you need today?" The woman had a soft voice. "Oh hi, I would like to take a class." "Understood. I need you to deactivate your illusion magic first." "Not illusion magic. But whatever. I'll hide them."
Jake hid his features. "Anyway, what type of martial arts would you like to practice today?" "Well I'm not sure. What are the choices?" "Well we have the basic elements, as well as light and electric. "Hmm, I'm going to go with fire." "Very well. Are you fluent in the fire element?" "Nope. In fact, I've never used the element." "Come again? You have no experience with the element and yet you still want some training in an element you have no practice with?"
"Yep." "Whatever. It's your money. How long do do you want the lesson to be?" "Fifteen minutes." "Very well. How about this one?" The woman pointed to Rena. "The same time. Which element do you want to practice?" Jake asked Rena. "Water. That's the element I have an affinity for." "Nice. Anyway, water for her." "Understood. That will be eight golds." "Alright." Jake took out eight golds. He now had 19 golds, 98 silvers, and 69 coppers.
Jake handed the woman the money. "Alright. Come with me please. I will get someone for the girl." The woman walked over to a man. He had light brown hair and a young looking face. You could tell that he was older than he looked though. "Hello. I hear that you are looking to learn water martial arts?" The man said with a serious expression. "Y-yes..." "Very well. Come with me." The man said in an annoyed voice.
Jake was a bit sussed out. "Hey bud, don't overstep your boundaries. If I hear that you mistreated her, I will not hesitate to remove something from you." The man donned an amused expression. "Really? You think you stand a chance against the number two water element user in this dojo? I doubt you stand much of a chance. Don't tell me what to do punk-ass." Jake's eyes flashed red for a second.
"I actually do think I can beat you. Wanna test it?" Said Jake with a serious expression. The man grew a smirk. "Y'know what? If you can beat me, I'll pay for your lesson myself." "Your willing to pay?" "Pfff, of course. I mean, the chances of you winning are incredibly slim. I mean, I have 140,000 battle power." "Cool." "Just cool? Whatever. So you wanna spar?" "Sure." Jake pulled out his card. He checked his battle power. 320,000.
Jake let out a chuckle. "What's so funny?" "Nothing. Where are we gonna spar?" "Right here." The man pointed to where the people were training previously. They had left. "Sounds good." They both walked over to the main area. "Three, Two, One, Fight!" The man lunged towards Jake. He had used water to enhance the power of his boost. He swung his fist at Jake's face. Jake dodged but was surprised when a fist made from water extended from the mans arm and curved towards Jake's face. It hit him, but only did a bit of damage. Jake swung his fist at him.
The man only barely dodged him. The man was in awe at how he had shrugged off the punch. No, he must be using illusion magic...
"Ten seconds." Jake started counting down. "Focus on fighting you bastard!" The man did a flying kick at Jake. Jake caught his foot. "Zero." Jake lifted the man up and smashed him down. He then grabbed both the man's arms and held them down on his back. He then put his knee on the man's back to hold him down. "Three, Two, One, Zero! This man wins!" The woman announced Jake as the winner.
"Nice fight, but not nice enough." "What the hell was that you bastard!?" "A fight." "Are you mocking me?!" "A little. Anyway, thanks for paying." "Agh, whatever." The man was angry, but still knew better than to fight with someone recklessly. "It was a good match." "Huh?" Jake was surprised. After all, nobody he fought had complimented him. "Well uh, thanks." "Yes. Anyway, come with me girl." The woman handed Jake his money.
The man lead Rena to a door. "Please follow me sir." The woman said to Jake. "Yep." Jake followed the woman into a room. It was a large room which Jake suspected was under the Influence of spatial magic. "We will begin now. Please sit." The woman sat down. "Right." Jake sat in front of her.
"Now to start. Feel your mana running through you." Jake felt the mana. "Now guide the mana from your core." "Hold on, my core?" "Yes, your core. You know, your mana core?" "Nope. Dont know it." Anyone who has magic has a mana core. You are no exception." "How do you know that?" "The fact is that no being is born without the capacity for mana. Unless you have had clogged veins all your life and only unclogged them today, you would have a mana core. I'm sure you would remember growing one, they are quite painful when they grow in."
"But I dont remember it. Here lemme see..." Jake took his black knife out of his inventory. *Shlk* *Sklch* *Rip* The woman was sitting in the lotus position eyes closed. "Sir what are these noises?" "I'm looking for my core." "You're what?" The woman opened her eyes. She was utterly horrified by what she saw. The man had lifted his shirt up to reveal a nicely toned body. He was currently using a black dagger to dissect himself.
"OH MY GOD! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" "Looking for my core." "YOU'RE CUTTING YOURSELF OPEN LIKE A FISH TO FIND IT?!" "Yep." Jake had made a large hole. He stuck his hand inside and felt around. "Bleh, it feels so weird when I do this." "YOU THINK?!" Jake felt around some more. Eventually he grabbed his own heart. *Badum* *Babum* "That's so weird feeling." He felt around his intestines some more.
Suddenly, he felt something hard and smooth. "Oh! Is this it?" Jake pulled out a ball. It was attached to a bunch of glowing blue veins. The shell was made of some type of gray glass like material. The ball itself was very nice looking. It had two sides. One was a swirling rainbow of colors, and the other was black with slight hints of dark purple swirling through it. "AAH, AH, AHHHHHH!" The woman started screaming.
"Woah Woah Woah! Calm down!" Jake put the core back in. "Are you uncomfortable around viscera?" "Y-Y-YOU MONSTER! YOU JUST PULLED OUT YOUR OWN MANA CORE?!" "Yeah, about that, I have a pain numbing skill. So it didn't hurt almost at all." "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW FATAL LOSING YOUR CORE IS?! YOU WOULD DIE ALMOST INSTANTLY!"
"Calm down! I'm sorry if I freaked you out! I won't do it again." "It's not about me! It's about you! You just mutilated yourself!" "Its fine okay! Let's just do this lesson." *Ahem* "Very well. Let us continue." The woman composed herself. Jake put the core back where it was before, then used heal wounds. "Guide your mana from your core to your hands." "I'm not sure how to do that." "How do you not know how?" "All I can do is see my mana flow." "That's the first step. Next, you have to find a vein to follow to your core. After this, you can create a shortcut of sorts."
"Alright lemme try..." Jake tried to find a vein. Suddenly, he realized that there were connected to the circulation line. He concentrated on one. Eventually he flrealized that he could see the vein. He followed the vein. Eventually he came to his core. It looked the same as when he had taken it out. "I'm here." "Already?" The woman asked with a hint of surprise.
"Whatever. Now you need to create a pathway to each of your hands." "Got it." Jake created a pathway to his hands. "Done." "No way! It takes at least ten minutes to do!" The woman was irritated with the man for lying to her. "No, really. I just made a pathway, its gray right now." The woman was amazed. After all, the man hadn't even known about his mana core, so how would he know the color of the vein.
"You are quite impressive. Now you need to guide fire mana through your new veins." "Alright." Jake focused on the veins. He willed fire mana to got through them. "..." Nothing happened. "Hey, uh, quick question, how do I make fire mana go through my veins?" The woman was surprised that he did not know with how much of a prodigy he was.
"You have to bring it from your core. Think of your core as a workshop. Mana is like wood. The wood goes in, the workshop shapes it into something, then it is put forth as a finished product." "Hmm, okay." Jake looked at his circulation. Only this time, there was a vein leading to his core. 'Nifty.' He thought. Jek focused on his core. It lit up. He focused on the red swirling through the core. After a few seconds, the entire colorful side turned red.
Jake willed it to go through the veins. Suddenly, the red mana started flowing through the veins. Eventually, the mana reached his hands. "The mana has reached my hands." "Already?!" "Yep." "You are quite a prodigy." "I know." "Anyway, now that you have the mana in your hands, you need to apply it to martial arts." "Got it."
"Please rise." The woman had stood up, and was now imploring Jake to do the same. Jake stood up. "So what do I do now?" "You need to do some martial arts." "Sounds pretty simple." There was a dummy next to them. Jake walked over to the He threw a punch. *Bang* It was a normal punch. "Am I missing something?" "Release the mana upon impact." "Okay." Jake threw a punch. Upon hitting the dummy he released his mana. There was a slight problem though. He melted halfway into the dummy's head. "Whoops."
The woman was standing there shocked. "How'd you... Those are made to be incredibly durable. How did you break it?" "I'm not sure. I wasnt using me body strengthening or adamantite gauntlets." "Did you just say adamantite?" "Yeah, anyway, what else should I do?" "Well there's a lot of things. First, try to extend your mana as an extra hand." "Okay."
Jake imagined a hand protruding from his hand. He threw a punch. A yellow hand extended from his upon trying it. "YOOOO THIS IS SICK! GO, [*AGICIANS RED]!" Jake felt like an absolute baller. "I got a mothafuckin *tand!" "*tand?" "You wouldn't understand. Anyway, would this work if I made veins to other places?" "That's actually what we were going to talk about. If you make veins to other places, you can extend mana from those parts too."
"This is so cool! I'm going to try another one." "I do advise doing your legs next." "Nono, I meant another element." The woman was puzzled, if the boy had just done mastered fire that fast, that must mean he was not able to master another in the same day, right?
Jake emptied the veins. But before choosing another element, he had an idea. What if he made another vein? Jake made another one for each hand. He resupplied the fire mana into the other vein. He focused on the vein and willed it to make metal mana. After a few seconds, gray started swirling with the red. Jake willed the gray mana to go into the new veins.
"Three, Two, One, Go!" Jake gave himself a countdown. After the countdown ended, he used the metal magic. A metal replica of his hand extended from his hand that he could freely control. "IMPOSSIBLE! HOW DID YOU DO THAT?!" The woman asked fearfully. "Magic." "NO SERIOUSLY! HOW DID YOU MASTER ANOTHER ELEMENT INSTANTLY?!" "I just created metal mana. It wasn't that hard to do. Now I'm going to try combining them."
"Wait! That may not-" Jake had already activated both mana veins. An orange hand made from metal extended from his hand. It started dripping metal. There were also heat waves above it. "Booyah! I'm a force-a-nature!" "You may want to deactivate that-" Suddenly, Metal creaking noises were heard from the hand. *BAM*
Jake's hand exploded violently. "Uh, that's uh, bad." The woman just stood there utterly shocked at what had just happened. "Di-dis your hand just..." "Explode violently? Yes. Don't worry though, I'll just heal myself." "You have healing magic?" "Yep. Heal wounds." Jake's hand grew back. "Anyways, I'm pretty sure that time is up. I may be back sometime." "Alright. Please do." Jake got up and left the room.
He went out and saw that Rena wasn't out yet. He decided to sit around practicing his new magic. He decided to make some new veins. He connected them a few inches under each arm. He then channeled metal mana into them. "Let see..." He took his shirt off. He figured it was okay to do since he had seen a few shirtless people. Jake imagined an arm sprouting on each side.
Two shiny metal arms sprouted from his sides. "Brooo, this is sick as hell!" Jake tried moving them independently, but failed miserably. It was ridiculous hard to do since he had used two arms for his whole life. "I've gotta practice this." Jake practiced for around two minutes. After this, Rena came out of the room. The man walked over to Jake with a happy expression. "Your girl here has an incredible affinity for water magic. I hope to see her again sometime."
"That's great! I'm sure we'll be back sometime." "I did great Jake!" "That's awesome! Can you show me what you learned?" "I learned how to do this." Rena's hand became covered in a coat of water. "Niiiiice! You're a prodigy huh?" "Well not really, my family has specialized in water magic for hundreds of years. That's why my last name is Waterstone." "Interesting." Jake rubbed her head.
She enjoyed the head pats. "Woah, those are cool arms." "I know right? I'm trying to get used to using them independently, but it's really hard." "Will I be able to do that?" "Definitely." Jake said in a serious voice.
'Hey Lexi, does the Soulpower system give my companions benefits?'
[Yes. Your companions get boosted leveling speed and learning speed.]
'Also, what are you doing right now?'
[Sleeping. I drank too many alcoholic beverages yesterday, and now I am tired.]
'Interesting.'
"Anyways, we gotta go to that duel. Jake retracted his arms and put his shirt on. "I'm sure this guy is going to be easy." "Thanks for the vote of confidence." "Your welcome." Jake was happy Rena believed in him. "Anyway, let's go." "Yeah." Jake walked out of the building and took out the guiding tool the God had given him. He clicked the button. An arrow appeared. It pointed down an alley. Jake summoned his bubble. He brought out his wings. He suddenly wondered how his wings sprouted without ripping his shirt.
He flew up in the bubble. The arrow pointed him towards something. He followed it, until eventually, the thing kept pointing backwards no matter where he went. He lowered down to the ground. There was a door similar to the one he had used when he went into the market. "Guess we go through here." Jake opened the door. Behind it was a bridge leading to a large grassy area.
In front if the bridge a bit far away was a large dome like building. "I assume that's it ." "Safe guess." Jake flew over to the Coliseum. He saw some people walking In through the entrance. "Guess this is gonna be spectated huh?" "It makes sense." "Yeah you're right." Jake landed at the entrance. He released his demonic features. A few people gave him startled glances.
"I see that you came." "Huh?" Jake looked backwards. The god of electricity was standing there. "Oh hey. And yeah, of course I came. I'm not some pussy who wimps out of fights." "That's good. Anyway, I wish you luck." The god said with a smug smile. "Don't be too sure of your champion, my champion is incredibly strong."
A female voice came from behind Jake. He looked behind him. "What is it with people coming up behind me right now?" "Huh?" "You're the second person to come up behind me in the span of a minute." "Oh. Anyway, don't be too cocky Pretanos, my champion is a freak of nature." "Or so I hear. Is it true that you broke a bunch of spying mirrors?" "Not sure. Find out yourself."
The god looked irritated. "Tell me." "Or what? What are you gonna do?" The god was squinting his eyes. "I'm a high mid-tier god, just know that you're picking a bad fight." "Whatever. I'm just looking to have fun. I think beating your champion and seeing the look on your stupid *ikachu looking face will be exceptionally fun."
"Goodbye." The god left with a sour look on his face. "Anyway, let's go." Kelsha took his hand and led him to a door. "This is where you prepare. You need to leave behind any items you have including your spatial rings." "Oh, okay." Jake gave her his little glass shapes that he used to contact the heroes and Dharkeen. "This it?" "Yep."
"Whatever. Anyway, go through here. You will reach a room with weapons and such. Prepare yourself there and then walk to the gate. Upon both parties being ready they will open." "Sounds simple enough." "Yep. Anyway, I have confidence in you." "Thanks. I'm gonna get going now." "Alright." With this, Jake walked down the hallway.
Eventually, he reached a room with a ton oof armaments. There were suits of armor, swords, knives, bows, wands, all kinds of things. "Wonder where I'm gonna find the thirst zapper for mister shockey over here." Jake looked around the room. He decided to take a bunch of knives. "I'll just throw these." Jake looked around a bit more. There was nothing of interest.
Jake activated his armor skill. The armor grew onto him, only this time, it grew over his features. It was beyond cool. His horns were now covered in red metal that had spikes all over it. His tail not had a spiked flail. And his wings had an exoskeleton like pattern of adamantite over them. "I look fucking sick!"
Jake decided he was ready. He walked over to the gate. Upon reaching it, a door shut behind him, closing him in. Soon after, he heard a voice above him. "Prepare to fight." "Got it." A few seconds passed. After this, the gate in front of him opened. "Hello everyone! As you may know, we have a match between two gods champions today! How exciting huh?!" Both champions stepped out. There was a small metal bar fence separating them.
The other champion was a young looking man with yellow hair. He was wearing yellow armor with a purple gem in it. "On this side, we have Pretanos' champion, Shilkar!" The crowd cheered. "And on this side, we have Kelsha's champion, Jake!" There were some, but not many cheers. Jake felt a bit spooked by the audience. After all, he wasn't very good with crowds.
"Now, without further ado, let's watch a fight!" A deep voice rang out. "Three! Two! One! Fight!" Upon saying this, the fence sunk into the stone brick floor. Both champions took off running. Jake started off by throwing a punch, which the champion dodged easily. "Too slow." The contestant threw a punch with incredible speed. *Bam* Jake was launched back.
He used his wings to stop in the air. "Damn, you're pretty fast huh?" "Yes." The man launched off the ground at Jake. Jake blocked his punch with both his arms It made a loud clanging noise. "How is your armor so strong?!" The champion was frustrated that his punch had zero effect. He fell to the ground and landed on his feet. "Well it's adamantite, what do you expect?" The champion squinted his eyes. After all, this champion was spouting straight lies.
"Stop lying!" The man grew a perverse smile. "I love demi-human children, they always scream and cry. I especially love tough ones like lizardmen and dragonewts, they last for so long before dying! I wonder who'll protect your precious girl?" Jake's eyes went red. Black lines grew from his eyes. The man lunged at Jake. He threw a punch towards his face. Jake leaned his head to the side. As a counterattack, he threw a lightning fast punch towards the mans stomach. *BOOM* A shockwave appeared behind the man. *BLEH* The man threw up. "WHAT THE HELL?!" Jake grabbed the man by the face and flew up. He was now around fifty feet off the ground.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" "Dropping you." "WHA?! NO! WAIT WAIT WAIT-" Jake dropped the man. "AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" The man fell headfirst towards the ground. Jake used super speed to be at the ground before the man. He stuck his fist facing up. It was directly where the man would land. "NOOOOO AHHHHH-" *SPLORCH* There was a sound like a watermelon getting hit by a golf club.
The entire area around Jake was covered in blood and brains. Jake used blood magic to gather all the pieces off of him. The red faded from Jake's eyes and the black lines retracted. The crowd was completely silent. "It, uh, it seems that contrary to our expectations, Kelshas champion won." There were a few cheers. "Serves you right." Jake's heart was racing. He had just killed someone after all.

"At least my level went up a bit. It's a bit sad that I don't get experience from gods." "Well, that concludes the match for today. Please be sure to come back again sometime." And with this, people started leaving the seats. Jake walked back through his gate which had opened. He put the knives back. "Too bad I didn't get to use these. Woulda put that prick through a bit of hell."
Jake was a bit surprised, after all, the man was incredibly strong compared to other people he had faced. Still though, he was no match for Jake's superior strength. He made it back to the door where he had entered. Upon exiting, he was grabbed around the stomach. "Woah!" He was surprised. "Good job Jake! You finally got over killing someone!" "Yeah, only because he said evil things." "Like what?" "You're too young to worry about it."
"I'm going to be eleven next month though!" "Well that's in a month isn't it?" "Ugh, your so unfair!" "I know. Anyway, what do you think we'll get as a prize?" "Money." "Safe guess." "There you are!" Jake felt himself being lifted up by the neck from behind. "What the hell?!" Jake was thrown toward the entrance. "Jake!" Jake lifted his head and saw the god if electricity standing where he had stood.
"How did you win!? I poured every resource possible into guaranteeing my win! So how!? How did you win?!" "I won with my strength." "Lies!" It was at this point that the man grabbed Rena by the neck. After this, Kelsha arrived. "What the hell is going on?!" "Tell me Kelsha, is there a punishment for killing a god?" "Well of course! You would be sentenced to death!"
"Guess that killing Pretanos is off the table." At this point, Jake disappeared from his spot. "What the hell?! Where did he go?" He looked around in confusion. After all, how could the man have run away without him catching with his incredibly fast eyes?
After a few seconds, something caught his eye. There was a metal arm sticking out of his stomach. The god spat up ichor "Wh-what the hell!? How did you move so fast!?" Suddenly, a bunch of spikes shot out from the arm. "AAAAAUUUGHHHH!" Ichor sprayed everywhere. After this, the arm went red hot. "AAAAAAAAAHHHHH MY STOMACHHHHH!!! STOPPPP AUUUGHHHH!!!!" After this, the arm started twisting. "URGG BLUG BLUEH!" The god started saying incomprehensible gibberish before his eyes rolled back and he passed out.
Kelsha witnessed this with shock. "Wh-what did you just do?!" Suddenly, the gods head exploded. In place of it was another silvery metal arm. Ichor went everywhere. "Serves you right you bastard." Kelsha was shocked at how strong Jake was... And also slightly turned on...
ANYWAYS- Jake's eyes were once again red with black lines. "Did you just completely stomp Pretanos?" Jake's eyes went back to normal. "Huh, oh, uh, yeah." Jake answered while retracting his metal arms. "When did you learn how to do mana martial arts?" "While I was shopping. Now hold on for a second.
Jake pushed the defeated god away. He turned his attention to Rena. She was obviously scared, but other than that, she was fine. "You good Rena?" "Y-yeah. That was pretty scary though." "For sure." Jake knelt down and hugged her. "That was a dick move on his part." "Yeah." Rena didn't cry which surprised Jake. After all, she was almost killed by a god.
"Why don't you cry?" "Cry?" Rena seemed to think about it. "I'm not sure. I cry on the inside I guess. Ever since I was forced to watch my parents die, I haven't cried." "Damn, that's pretty tragic." "Yeah." "Anyway, what's up Kelsha?" "Well I was going to invite you to my party. Seeing as you are my champion and all." "Yeah, sounds like a plan."
"Alright. The party is gonna be held at my place." "Got it." Jake opened a portal to her home. Her eyes widened and her jaw dropped. "Alright, let's go Rena." "Got it."
And with this, they both walked through the portal.
