The initiates had finally come back home. As true warriors. The celebrations had taken over at once as was the norm. However this time round instead of the usual united inter communal festivities, both villages held their own communal feasts within their walls. This then gave way to the various family feasts and celebrations.

These helped to quell the rising tensions that had been brewing up recently and some much needed peace and quiet descended upon the two hills. However this frail vestige of peace did not last long.

One fateful evening a tired Mariani sorghum farmer masked men and was mortally wounded as he made his way home. This sparked outrage from the usually quiet village.

A few days later, prominent Lekuta grazers were ambushed and left for dead. The assailants made away with dozens of Lekuta's finest cattle. Lekuta was enraged and launched public protests at Mariani's obvious disregard of the peace treaty.
