Chapter 17

As Icy trekked through the cold ice realm, she couldn't seem to find anyone. She shouldn't have faked her death but it was the only way to escape.

She wondered what Crystal would have said if she knew of this.

No, Icy couldn't tell Crystal that she wasn't the shy girl that Crystal knew her as.

She wandered into a dark cave filled with jewels of all shapes and sizes.

"Welcome Icicle, daughter of Glacier and The Governess." Somebody said.

Icy raised her hands. Icicles the shape as swords formed in her hand.

An Ice priest appeared from the darkness.

"Father." Icy kneeled before him.

"Stand Icy, it's ok." Glacier said.

"Father, I have failed you," Icy cried. "Mother is just too powerful, I tried to stop her but she almost killed me."

"Did the cloaking work?" Glacier asked.

"It did, I was disguised as a mere Ice mage, nobody suspected that I was half dark mage."

"Good." Glacier said, placing his hand on Icy's shoulder.

��Father, there was a girl, Crystal." Icy said. "She was so kind and I wanted to tell her my secret."

"Remember my child, nobody is trustworthy."

"Yes father." Icy nodded.

"Good, now go." Glacier said.

Icy left the cave but she put up her hood and uncloaked herself. Her hair turned a light grey. Her fawn ears disappeared. Icy embarrassed her true self.

She was going to reveal her true form to Crystal.

Glacier knew this was going to happen. "Daughter, stop!"

Icy smiled "My name is Luna, daughter of the Governess, you will not stop me." Icy fired a sheet of powdered snow that threw Glacier off the face of the cliff.

Glacier was no more.

Icy saw a patrol of Ice mages headed towards her.

"Luna?" one of the mages said.

Icy smirked, "Ready boys, it's going to be a long day.

The mages attacked Icy with waves of snow.

Icy was too fast and dodged all their attacks.

As Cal was dragged towards a guillotine he heard the mages screaming, ��Kill him!!!"

Cal tried to reach for his watch but he couldn't reach it. "Goddamn it Ethan, I told you a ring would be better."

Crystal saw them put him under the razor sharp blades.

Breeze flew overhead and grabbed Cal before they fastened him in.

Cal sighed with relief and placed his head on Breeze's shoulder.

Breeze landed softly and put Cal down.

"Thank you-"

Breeze grabbed Cal's face and kissed him.

"Ok then." Ash said.

Crystal looked down.

"Where are they?" Sky asked.

Crystal knew this was their chance to leave. "Cal, are you willing to overthrow a government for the good of all mages?"

Cal was still going at it with Breeze.

"Breeze!" Bliss said.

The two separated.

Cal laughed nervously. "Yeah sure."

"Ok, let's get a move on." Bliss said.
