Chapter 11

"Where are we going?"

He glanced at me for a bit and gave me an assuring smile before returning his gaze on the road.

"Ciudad," Revi answered.

I gasped and panic started to creep in me. "B-but... that's so far away!"

"Ciudad is the place I told you about and yes, it's kinda' far but you'll find the travel worth it the moment we get there."

"Revi!"

He threw me a glance for a fleeting second before looking back in the front.

"I thought we're going to Durem?"

"Oh, come'n. Our university is in Durem. Palagi tayong nandoon kaya nakakasawa na," he insisted.

I leaned on my seat before heaving a deep sigh. He's right, though. We got tired of Durem eventually. We're there mostly because we were studying in Durem University. Except for the fact that we're studying there, we spend most of our dates there. We have no ample time to travel to places that are very far away because we're busy or we're tired.

If Ciudad is a Bisaya term, it means city. But Ciudad is named for a peaceful, travel-worthy province. It ain't a city at all, even if the name of the place says the other.

"Ciudad is an escapade from the busy city of Durem, love."

I looked at him before nodding. Well, I guess he's right. We need to breathe some fresh air and I trust his choice for choosing Ciudad, though that place is very far away.

"It's a long drive. You should rest one hour from now," I said.

He chuckled but then agreed with my suggestion. "Will you please set the alarm for me?"

I shifted on my seat before searching for Revi's phone on the compartment in front but I found nothing so I flashed him a questioning look.

"It's inside my bag. At the backseat."

I reached for his backpack on the backseat and fetch his phone out. I tapped the alarm icon to set the alarm one hour from now. Right after setting the alarm, an unknown number dominated the screen.

"Uhm... Someone's calling, Rev." I informed.

He didn't give me a single glance and stayed looking in the road. "Who? Coln?"

I shook my head. "An unregistered number."

"I think it's my classmate. It's fine, answer the call."

I nodded and answered the call.

"Revi!" I heard a girl's voice on the other end. "This bitch keeps on bugging me! She's been appearing here and there. She said she wants to talk to you but judging from her desperate advances, is this bitch delusional?!"

My forehead creased in confusion upon hearing. I drew the phone away from my ear to check the number it was nothing familiar.

"I'm sorry. This is Amelia. I answered the call because Revi's driving," I said.

"Oh, the girlfriend." The voice sounds familiar, though. "This is Dehlia, Amelia. Uh... do you remember me?"

I gasped. "Oh, I do. Revi's classmate and a friend, right?"

Revi glanced my way, curious who I was talking to. "Uh... if it's nothing private, you can tell and I'll put the speaker on but if it is, you can call Revi later."

"This is not private, really."

"Oh, okay?"

"Anyway, as I was saying... there's this girl who keeps asking me for Revi. She's been at it for the past weeks. I figured that she's an obvious admirer but I hate her guts, Amelia! I don't think Revi could handle this by himself. You know him for being a no-care kind of a person."

She's right at that part of Revi. My boyfriend is carefree and unbothered when it comes to his admirers. He's not telling them to cease pursuing him or turn them down because he thinks that they might find him rude and he's not telling them to continue on doing so either. That is why, sometimes, his admirers go crazy. They hope for him because it really seems like he's giving them hope when actually, he's just frivolous of everything.

"Don't you think that there's a need for you to care about this matter? I'm telling you, this girl is pretty delusional. I think she's sick in the brain!"

"No. I trust Revi on that. Whoever that woman is, she's going to stop eventually just like the other girls before who likes him and was very determined to get him." I confidently answered. I intentionally lowered my voice just so Revi wouldn't hear. My conversation with Dehlia might distract him while driving.

"I'm telling you, this girl is something else-"

I could hear the unfamiliar voice of a woman on the other line. It seems like someone snatched the phone away from Dehlia which caused the call to end.

"Fck! Get off me, you bitch!"

I heard rumbles and groans on the other end which made me uneasy from my seat. "You better block this number, Amelia!" Dehlia screamed before the call ended.

I weakly lowered the phone down to my lap which made Revi turn to me with his confused look. "Who's that?"

I snapped. "It was Dehlia."

"What did she say? School stuff? If it's about the research paper, we don't have any problem."

I shook my head. "No. It's not about that at all."

He nodded and shrugged. I didn't bother telling him about what Dehlia has said. I don't want any interruption while we're on a date.

"Amelia," I groaned and shifted on my seat when I felt someone shaking my shoulder lightly.

"Hey, wake up."

I rubbed my eyes softly and shifted my weight. Upon opening my eyes, what welcomed me was Revi's smile which has influenced me to smile too.

"We have to eat our lunch. Come," he said.

I nodded and unbuckled my seatbelt. He lends me a hand. He supported me in going out of the car.

"The place was pretty popular with their dish-- dinuguan. Besides that, there's also sisig and any other native foods," Revi informed while we're walking towards a big, wooden open hut.

We looked at the foods they offered listed on the huge tarpaulin placed right above the counter. "One dinuguan and two sisig. And please include two cups of rice, please."

Sisig is my next favorite dish aside from adobo. Thank goodness and they offer sisig here. Ciudad was living up to my expectations. It looks delicious from just the picture on the tarpaulin displayed above us though. I then felt my mouth watered.

"Softdrinks?"

I politely refused at the woman who tends to our orders. "Just water, Ma'am."

There weren't that many people here so we choose the empty table in the center because there's also a huge electric fan too. It was said that our food will at least take 15 minutes so we waited for it while looking and observing the whole place.

Or was it just me? Because Revi was busy fiddling on his phone.

I refused to think more about what Dehlia said when she called earlier. It's not new to me anymore and I figured that it is one of the reasons why our bonds tightened. Revi always assures me that there are just two important women in his life. Me and of course, his mother.

We've been together for so long so women liking him or should I say, crazy for him weren't new to me anymore. There are girls who are very determined to get Revi despite knowing that he's in a relationship already but there wasn't a time when he made me feel bothered.

What I've heard from Dehlia was not new to me anymore so I just let it go and chose not to think about it.

"Love," Revi called which made me turn to him. I then heard a camera click which made me cover my face in an instant.

He laughed. "It's a perfect candid shot."

"I'm not up for stolen and sudden taking of pictures, Revi." I said in a serious tone.

"You're beautiful, stolen, or not."

"We both know the purpose of you, stealing me a shot."

He barked laughter. "It's for meme purposes. Yep, you got me."

I chuckled while shaking my head.

"Well, I look forward to more stolen pictures the moment we'll arrive at Ciudad."
