Compliment

Hmmmm..

"It's not that bad," one of the customer started, nodding his head in approval.

"It's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside," the other one continued.

"It's not burnt too! It's nicely cooked," another one commented, finishing off his bite.

"If we're gonna rate it from 1 to 10, we'll give.." the last one said, stopping in his sentence to think. The sudden silence made Evelyn, Brian and Charlie nervous as they waited in anticipation. The atmosphere became intense for them three.

"a 10!" The four customer cheered excitedly in sync as they flashed them a genuine smile. The four of them seemed to be very satisfied with the scrumptious taste of the waffle they were served by.

Charlie, Brian and Evelyn heaved an euphoric sigh of relief after receiving the compliment. A smile slowly made its way on their faces as they thanked the customers for willingly helped them with the waffle.

Brian then opened the messaging app on his phone and typed in a message to their group. It was a message to inform the other member of the team about the successful making of a delicious waffle batter.

"Don't forget to show up by 7am so that we could prepare everything in the stall. The festival starts at 8am. And don't forget the waffle batter too!" Evelyn said, reminding both Brian and Charlie so that they wouldn't forget and would be on time. The two boys nodded, looking like two kids getting scolded by their mother.

"I'm gonna go home now. Bye," she said, sending them a small wave.

"Oh yeah, I'm going home too. Let's go together!" Brian said, following Evelyn.

"We're heading off now. Bye Charlie!" Brian said while Evelyn sent Charlie a smile. They both walked away from the bakery.

"Bye, be careful on your way home!" Charlie said, loud enough for the both of them to hear as he waved them a goodbye.

It was the next day after Brian, Charlie and Evelyn had made the waffle batter together at the bakery.

charlie's alarm went off. it was 6:30 in the morning yet charlie was still in his slumber. his alarm finally stopped after 1 minute had passed

"Beep, beep, beep," the continuous loud sound of Charlie's alarm was heard. It showed that it was 6:30 in the morning yet Charlie still hasn't woken up. After a minute went by, Charlie's alarm finally stopped. It seemed that Charlie was still in his deep slumber to had made him not hear the sound of his own alarm.

"Beep, beep, beep," the alarm went off again, causing Charlie to finally wake up in surprise. He rubbed his eyes and adjusted his vision to the bright light coming from his window. He took a deep breath and looked over to the clock, which showed 6:35 on it.

He had a small moment before the realization finally kicked in that he still hasn't got ready for school yet. He swiftly got out of bed and quickly dashed to the bathroom. He was in such hurry due to the fear of making it late to school on a very important day.

After he was finally done wearing his uniform, he grabbed his bag and ran downstairs, straight to the door. Granny Nancy saw the appearance of Charlie and called him up for breakfast.

"Charlie, come eat breakfast. I've made you your favourite sandwich!" She excited announced, serving the plate onto the table for Charlie to munch.

"Sorry Granny but I'm running late right now. I have to be at school by 7 to prepare the stall for the festival!" Charlie said in a quick manner, almost as if he was rapping. He clumsily put on his shoes as it suddenly became hard for him to put one on than usual. He then took a quick look on his watch, which tells 6:40 on it.

"Oh if that's the case then wait a bit," she sighed before going off to get something in the kitchen. She then came back with a container in her hand.

"Here. Sandwiches for you and your friends to munch on. Make sure you eat it, okay?" Granny Nancy softly said before holding it out for Charlie to take.

"Thanks, Granny. You're the best," He sent her a smile, grabbing the container from her hands as he stood up. Charlie was so grateful to still have his grandmother by his side as she was so caring towards him.

"Take this money. Have fun, child!" Granny Nancy chuckled, handing him the money she took from her pocket. At first, Charlie refused to take the money as he didn't want to burden her too much but Granny Nancy forced him to accept it. At the end, Charlie accepted the money in defeat.

"Thanks again. I'll head off now, bye!" He said before running off to the distance, leaving Granny Nancy by the door frame as she watched him walked off her sight. It was already 6:45am and Charlie was rushing to school.

Just as he finally arrived,

"Hi, Charlie! We're here on time!" Evelyn greeted him, giving him a friendly slap on his back. Charlie coughed and continued to catch his breath from all the running. He then greeted Evelyn back and walked to the direction of their stall. They were both soon welcomed by Brian and Rebecca who had arrived earlier than them.

"Bro I'm hungry. I didn't have the time to make or even eat breakfast," Brian complained, showing the frustration in his voice. Charlie giggled, finding Brian's attitude amusing to watch.

"I haven't had breakfast too actually but my grandmother made me something. Let's eat this together," Charlie said cheerfully as he took the container Granny Nancy had gave him from his bag. He then handed the sandwiches equally to his three friends, that was sitting in front of him. They all ate together while waiting for the other members to arrive. After a few minutes passed, the others finally arrived.

"Let's begin!" Brian yelled in a fired up manner, bringing a whole new fresh atmosphere for all of the members.
