It was 11:00am and their stall was still flooded with students. The numbers of customers kept increasing that it began to become really busy for the members to handle.
Jayden and Giselle, who were one of their teammates, were supposed to work in the evening but due to the amount of customers they were getting, they had to change their shift and lend a hand.
"Sorry Jayden and Giselle. You both had to work in early because of us," Evelyn apologized, guilty of taking their time.
"It's fine. Plus, we just finished looking through all of the stalls and we're full already. We were worried of the amount of customers you guys were getting anyway so we wanted to help," said Jayden as he put his palm on his stomach, gesturing that they had ate enough food already. Giselle nodded in agreement from Jayden's statement.
Evelyn heaved a relieved sigh and was grateful that they were both willing to come in early to help with the customers. Giselle cleaned the tables while Evelyn and Rebecca would take orders from the customers that were lining up in front of the counter.
Meanwhile, Charlie was still in charge of the waffles but this time, with the help of Jayden by his side. Jayden didn't know how to produce a cotton candy so Brian had left the waffle making to him and Charlie so that he can take over on the cotton candy by his own. Beside selling waffles and cotton candies, they also had cold soft drinks in their stall such as Coca-Cola, Sprite etc.
While they were peacefully doing their work and serving their customers, a group of unexpected students had walked towards their stall. It was Noah and his friends. It seems that their arrival had caught everyone staring at them in shock. Noah's eyes was pierced towards Charlie, making him hid his face by looking down at the waffles, trying his best to keep his focus.
Noah walked over to the counter, completely cutting the lines of students who had been waiting for their turn. Evelyn who was standing on the other side of the counter, stayed unamused as she treated him like a her normal customer.
"What can I get for you?" She asked politely, hiding the fact that her heart was boiling in anger just by the presence of the dude, standing right in front of her as she recalled the story that Charlie had told her about. The story about the bullying.
"I want you," he cheekily blurted out while resting his face onto his palm as he elbowed the counter, looking at Evelyn straight in the eye. His friends laughed, supporting his actions.
"You know what? Go die," Evelyn simply replied, not having any of his attitude as she was starting to grow even more angry with him.
"I'm just joking," he laughed, changing his posture to stand up straight as he then looked back to his friends. A few seconds later, he turned towards Evelyn and ordered 4 chocolate waffles for him and his friends.
"That will be $10," Evelyn coldly stated, her eyes never at Noah nor was it ever near his face.
He then handed the money to Evelyn with a wide smile. Just as she was about to take the money from him, he forcefully grabbed her hand tightly and stayed in that position for a long period of time. Evelyn struggled her way to let go of his hand but unfortunately, never succeeded. Giselle who had witnessed the situation immediately rushed towards the scene. It was clear that Evelyn was uncomfortable by Noah's action.
"Stop what you're doing or I'll report it to the principal!" She warned, threatened him even. She hit him pretty hard on his shoulder as an attempt of telling him not to do what he had done as the son of the school's principal. Noah glared at her as he harshly freed Evelyn's hand from his grip.
"Thanks," Evelyn whispered while Giselle winked at her, gesturing her a 'you're welcome'.
Charlie quickly prepared Noah's waffles right after he received the order with Jayden. Noah on the other hand, had bought a canned coke followed by his friends as he then chose a table that was near Charlie's station. After the waffles were done, Charlie made his way to serve the food to the rightful customer which in this case, was Noah.
Charlie placed the food onto the table and waited no longer to walk away from the area. However, before he had the chance to do so, Noah stopped him on his track.
"Hold on," he said, smirking at his own idea. Just as he saw that Charlie was looking towards his direction, he grabbed his waffle and was ready to throw it to Charlie. At that second, Charlie stood stunned as all of the terrible flashback flashed through his mind. He felt numb, thinking of the same situation happening all over again.
However just before Noah had a chance to throw it to Charlie, he was stopped by a hand which was holding onto his from behind, preventing him from going further.
"Don't you dare do anything funny this time. Keep in mind that you're at someone's stall, you moron!" Jayden spat out as he held onto Noah's hand more tightly.
He seemed done with Noah's shenanigans that he had to just warn him aggresively. Noah broke free from Jayden's grip and quickly told his friends to leave with him.
"You! Remember our promise! And remember the consequences if you break it!" He yelled to Charlie one last time before storming off away from the stall with his friends.
The atmosphere became awkward as all the customers were stunned by what had just happened. They began to whisper to each other, most likely gossiping about the situation. Evelyn and Brian walked out of their station to make an announcement to the students.
"Everyone calm down. This was all just a small misunderstanding," Brian said, trying to cool down the students that was around while also making an attempt of making them feel safe again.
"Thank you," Charlie heavily sighed, gripping onto his tray tightly in frustration.
"You're welcome, bro. Besides, we're friends and that's what friends are for!" Jayden replied, putting an arm around Charlie's shoulder, trying to keep Charlie comfortable again from all of the overwhelming pressure he felt.
