ADAM'S THOUGHT

Adam felt it was unfair that he was the only one who will remember everything. One life after another, he would carry all the memories that they all spent together, but Jacob and Hana won't remember it at all.

He attempted to kill himself many times in the past but he would always wake up and find himself all healed. He hated it! He hated the Cerulean Kingdom's Emperor! He hated himself!

Well, he learned all the things the hard way. He learned to steel himself and live the life that they got. He learned to treasure every moment with Hana. He learned to understand the situation.

However, what he didn't understand at all was why the Emperor was doing this to his own daughter! He banished her to the mortal world just because Her Majesty, the Queen, left without any word.

No matter how Adam think about it, nothing makes sense.

"What are you thinking about?" Hana snapped her fingers in front of her daze brother. He had been staring into space and she had been calling his attention for a while now.

Adam blinked his eyes and looked at his sister. In this life, he was a brother to her. In their previous lives, he was a father, an uncle, a cousin, a teacher, a classmate and whatever role that was available as long as he was close to her. But he was never her lover.

He would always watch her grow and be snatched away by Jacob who was rightfully paired with her by the Queen.

Contrary to the Queen, His Majesty, the Emperor didn't like the pairings at all. Thus, he banished his own daughter and made her suffer countless of times.

Adam was there to help her though. He would always give her advice and help her whenever she needed. To Hana, he was the best companion which Adam started to accept over the years.

"I was thinking of being your driver for the time being that I am around." Adam responded with an evil grin. He knew that Hana would never allow it but he still wanted to tease her sister.

"No way! You stay here and don't come to my work."

"Why not?"

"Because you will only check the person that I like."

"I won't. I will look for Lily." Adam found an excuse and gave her a playful wink.

"Hey bro! Lily is a nice girl! Don't break her heart, okay?"

"I'm not breaking anyone's heart." Adam stated before handing her a roll of tissue. "Wipe it."

"Again?!" her tone carried her complaint but she can't do anything about it. She reached for the tissue and wipe her nose and face. "I embarrassed myself yesterday because of my nose bleed. God! I am pretty sure that my boss is now thinking that I am a pervert."

Adam smiled and reached out his hand to rub her hair messily. "Your boss will still fall in love with you."

"How confident are you?"

"My sister is the prettiest. Of course, he will love you. If he won't, I will never marry in this lifetime."

Hana laughed out loud with the stained tissue in her hand. "You can make that promise because I will be gone earlier than you. You are not fair at all."

Adam didn't say anything and just went to the kitchen to help his parents. He didn't want to think about the future. He just wanted to keep her safe while she was still with them.

"I just wish for the Queen to come back soon." Adam mumbled while taking the plates from the drawer as well as the spoons and forks.

Hana was just watching them since her parents forbade her to do any household chores. "Why is it that all the dishes were Adam's favorite?" she questioned with her arms crossed over her chest. "Didn't you cook me a spicy garlic shrimp?"

Alice turned around and rolled her eyes at her daughter. "Don't be silly sweetheart. I cooked your spicy garlic shrimp. You father hasn't taken it out yet."

"Oh..oh..Thankie thankie Mama." Hana smiled happily. In front of her family, she could be childish, she could be mature, she could be anyone she likes. She didn't have to pretend.

Rudolf just shook his head while looking at his silly daughter. Despite with what's going on, she remained positive and lively. She continued to live her life like how she normally does.

Rudolf took out her favorite spicy garlic shrimp and placed it on the dining table. Her mother was following behind him with a platter of rice.

"Let's eat!" Adam said excitedly since it's been a while that he ate with his family. "I missed this so much."

"We missed you, too bro." Hana responded with a sly smile. "We missed your cooking. So tomorrow, you are in charge of cooking."

"Hmp! You just want to keep me busy so I won't go to your work place." Adam snorted but his eyes were smiling happily.

'Just like this, we can be happy beside each other. I wish that this would never end.' Adam thought while pouring a glass of water for his sister.
