Making a Plan

I don't think this plan was fully thought through. Sneaking Ray in wasn't the problem. I got him in through the front door. My parents were still sleeping when we got back to the house. I still made sure that we were extra quiet sneaking up to my room. And now that I'm really thinking about it, it seems like I'm sneaking him up to shag.

But no, none of that was the problem. The problem is how I get him out. Or at least it was. That's when the solution came to me. It's all already been set up. Because of my friends coming over today, which I almost forgot about, I don't need to sneak him out. I can just claim he was one of my friends who came to hang out. The idea just came to me as I'm lying in my bed right now. Ray is sound asleep on my floor. I got some thick quilts we had and laid them out for him to sleep on. He seemed pretty content with his makeshift mattress right about now.

Carefully, I step over him and try not to wake him up. He stirs a little but doesn't wake up. I let out a sigh of relief and grab some clothes to go shower. The bathroom is connected to my room, so I'm hoping it doesn't make too much noise. He looked so peaceful, wouldn't wanna disturb him.

The water cascading down my body was relaxing and grounding. It gave me time to reflect on what happened in the past few days. It was nice to have time to fully get clarity. I really needed it since there was a guy sleeping on my floor. Not that I minded.

I turned off the water and got out of the shower. I finished the rest of my business and left the bathroom. Ray was still resting blissfully on the floor. I carefully stepped over him again and went to the kitchen. It's 12:00 already so my parents must still be in their bedroom since they're not out here. Everyone was set to come at 3:00 and my parents would stay for a few, meet my friends, then leave the house. They would come back at 11:00 and we would be shut up in my room by then. We decided to make it a sleepover because it would be so much fun. I should tell them that Ray is gonna be there too. I open our group chat on my phone. Which already had messages in it.

[Whores & Wenches]

Johnny: Make me some and bring it over?

Me: No

Johnny: You're the reason I cry myself to sleep at night

Me: You would do that anyways don't try to pin it on me

I slide my phone into my pocket and started on breakfast. I prepped so there was enough for Ray and myself. I made eggs, sausages, and waffles. Because I love waffles. Waffles are great. Anyway, I finished as quickly as I could so my parents wouldn't wonder why I was making breakfast for 2. Unfortunately, I wasn't so lucky this time. The small squeak of their door (which my dad has yet to fix) could be heard over the sizzling of sausages. My mind raced with excuses.

"Hey kiddo, what are you up to?" My dad said as he walked in. I physically cringed at that.

"Kiddo? Are we stereotypical now?" I raise an eyebrow at him and he lets out a short laugh.

"You think that's stereotypical? I can and will start calling you "dawg" and "homie"."

"Yep, kiddo works!" We both chuckled.

"You ready for your friends to come over?"

"Yeah, we are gonna have so much fun!" I pull the last of the food off the stove and turn it off. The remaining food gets divided up into the two plates. I hid one plate to make sure my dad didn't see it and question me. I gotta play it smoothly. "Okay, I'm going to eat in my room now." I pick up the plate and quickly walk toward my bedroom.

"You're not gonna eat at the table?" Shit. It's not accusatory or anything. He doesn't suspect a thing.

"Oh, you know, I have things to do before they get here and I'll just eat at the same time. No biggie." With that, I turned and walked into my room, closing the door behind me.

"Wow, grade A excuses." I was so startled that I almost dropped the food. Ray was on the floor grinning up at me.

"I hope almost making me drop your breakfast was funny." He looked at the plate in my hand with glee on his face. A very audible gasp left his lips. Not that I was staring at his lips or anything.

"You made breakfast?!" The energy he had can only be compared to that of a toddler. I gave him his food and he dug in. I'm not sure when the last time he got an actual meal was. The way that his parents acted just made me so upset. How could they just argue with each other and disregard their son? "This is so good!" He said with a mouth full of food. Literal child.

"Well, when we finish eating, you're helping me clean up for everyone coming over."

"Mmm, that doesn't seem like something I would do." My arms crossed and my brow raised in an authoritative way.

"Oh, really? Well then, I guess if I have to clean alone. I might not be able to find a place for you tonight and you'll have to go back home." He paused, his eyes stayed concentrated on the food in his lap. His whole body looks like it froze in place.

"Suddenly, I feel like helping you clean."

"I'm sure you do." I took a seat on my bed and dug in.
