Green Villa
Ava was standing in front of her house but she didn't have the courage to enter. She stood there in a trance for a long time thinking about everything that happened last night, until a familiar voice called her name.
"Ava!"
It was Jacob's voice! Ava came back to her senses and panicked when saw he was standing in front of her at the doorway. Why is he here? She is not ready to face him yet, but it looks like she didn't have a choice. Ava hugged herself unable to utter a single word. She could see her mother sitting in the living room from the door and wanted to run to her but she stood there frozen.
Jacob looked at Ava worriedly and asked gently, "Ava, where did you go last night? I was so worried about you."
Ava looked calm from the outside but there was turmoil going on inside her. She didn't know how to answer his question. She wanted to tell him the truth but when she looked at him, the worried look on his face made her heart shatter into pieces. How she was going to tell him what had happened to her last night? Her heart was weeping from inside but not a single tear came out of her eyes. Ava finally opened her mouth and said in a low voice, "I... I went to a friend's place." her voice cracked when she lied to him. She was feeling so guilty that she had to look away.
Jacob furrowed his eyebrows pretending to be anxious but he was actually angry. "Which friend? Why didn't you call me? Do you know I have been looking for you all night?" Jacob lied. He didn't care where she went but he surely was angry when he found out she was gone from the club. Because of her, his perfect plan got ruined.
Last night Ava went to the washroom and then disappeared. Thomas Miller called him and scolded Jacob for wasting his time, he was so angry he openly threatened him and told him he won't give him the account. Jacob was expecting a huge amount of money from the commission from this account so naturally, it was a great loss for him and all because this silly woman ran away. he tried to call her but her phone was switched off. In the early morning, he came to the Green Villa to ask her why she left like that last night, only to find out she never returned home. Jacob felt rage boiling inside him but he kept calm. He couldn't show his real face to her yet.
While Jacob was talking his eyes suddenly fell on the vibrant red mark on Ava's white neck and his eyes narrowed. What the hell? Is it what he thinks it is? Jacob came closer and pushed Ava's hair aside to inspect the mark and froze into place. There was not only one mark, in fact, there were several red marks on her snow-white neck. The red marks already announced the story of the previous night. The crimson color was so vibrant it could hurt one's eyes. Jacob stood there shocked as if he couldn't believe his eyes.
"Ava, where on earth did you go last night?" Jacob asked angrily.
Ava blinked at Jacob's sudden aggressiveness as she subconsciously took a step back and covered her neck with her hand. She was in a hurry when she left the hotel this morning and didn't check her appearance in the mirror, so she didn't know what Jacob saw that was making him so angry but the way he was staring at her neck with red eyes it was not hard to guess. She might not have slept with anyone before but she was not naive. She knew after spending a passionate night with someone what kind of evidence was left on their body. Shame swept over Ava as she lowered her head. She knew Jacob already understood everything, so what is the point of lying?
For the first time since she got home, a single tear fell from her eye as she said in a low trembling voice, "Jacob, let's break up!"
Jacob clenched his fist angrily his eyes were bloodshot as he demanded, "With whom Ava? Tell me." He already sold Ava to Thomas Miller last night but when he realized she had slept with someone else for some wired reason he felt rage inside. Some foreign feeling ignited deep inside his heart but he couldn't name it. He thought maybe because he couldn't get the benefit from it that's why he was furious.
Ava walked passed him and said in a calm but low voice "That's not important, we are done."
Jacob gnashed his teeth and shouted hysterically, "How could you do this to me? why did you betray me like that, Ava? Why?"
However, Ava closed the door and leaned on it for support, she didn't have any strength left, she felt exhausted.
By then Lilly also heard Jacob's shouting, she came quickly to check what happened only to see Ava standing against the closed door looking lifeless. She was still in the same dress she was in last night, however, the dress was completely ruined in mud and drenched in the rain clinging to her body. Lilly was so shocked at her appearance that she started to look at Ava from head to toe wondering if she had an accident. "Ava, honey what happened to you? Are you hurt? Where did you go last night? And why was Jacob shouting at you just now?"
Ava was about to have a mental breakdown, it was already hard enough for her to accept what had happened last night and now everyone was questioning her reminding her of the things she didn't want to remember. Ava looked at her mother and smiled through her tears then said lightly, "Mom I broke up with Jacob. Please don't ask me anything right now. I want to be alone. Please!"
