Ava lowered her eyes, she didn't know what to say she felt a bit embarrassed seeing through by him.
After staying silent for a long time, Oliver finally asked with a gloomy face: "Time and Place?"
"Tomorrow, 5.00 PM. The Starbucks in Crystal Street." Ava answered in low voice.
She didn't want to go on the blind date because she was well aware of the situation she was in. She was not a hypocrite how could she date someone while she had a disgraceful relation with Oliver, that would not be fair to the man but her mother didn't know about Oliver and because of her mother she said yes but now she was even more reluctant to go.
"Interesting." Oliver glanced at Ava and saw the guilty look on her face.
Ava stayed silent, there was patience in her pure face. She had no obligation to bear these things but for the sake of her family, she did. She only thought that the month would pass peacefully but it seems she thought wrong.
"Ava, you should be wise in life, you need to understand how to take a measure, don't do what you shouldn't do? Keep that in mind in the future." Oliver's face was calm, but his words were full of warning.
His calm and low voice made Ava shiver, she obediently said "I understand."
Oliver looked at her and suddenly started to laugh, which made Ava uncomfortable. Her heart started to jump from an unknown premonition.
"Since you promised your mother, I'll give you half an hour. I want to see you home as soon as you were done." Oliver smiled pretending to be thoughtful.
Ava was dumbfounded by his words, she was unsure of his intention because letting her go to see another man just like that was not like him. Since she met him Ava felt that her living under the pressure ability has improved to a great extent. She sighed in her heart.
"I'm still not going." Ava's eyes flashed a little struggle.
She didn't know what he was planning and she was afraid that Oliver would find more trouble if she goes on the date, so she thought it's better to cancel the date. She will make an excuse and manage her mother somehow, if she couldn't then she will ask her father for help.
Oliver looked at Ava deeply he saw the struggle in her beautiful eyes, he knew Ava didn't lie to him and he felt relieved. He still didn't like the idea of Ava seeing other men, but he didn't want her to break the promise she made to her mother either so he gave in. As for the man she was going to meet Oliver was not worried about that at all because who could compete with him in looks and wealth, he was the most handsome and richest man in the city.
"Why not? Didn't you made a promise to your mother, do you want to break the promise?" Oliver knew which words of his, would affect her.
Ava looked at him with doubt in her eyes. Why he suddenly became so understanding about the whole thing? However she thought, what he said was right and she didn't want to break the promise, so after hesitating for a while Ava finally said in a low voice, "OK."
Beijing Tiantan Hospital
Michael had been staying at the hospital for 3 weeks now. Ava checked his reports and gave him permission to get discharged from the hospital.
Ava thought since he just needed bed rest he could do it at home as well. She didn't like to be around him, she didn't know if it was because of Oliver or Michael himself she felt a bit edgy around him. Although Michael has always been nice and polite to her she still had a feeling that Michael was not as simple as he looked.
"Dr. Green, thank you for your care these past days. When I get well, I will invite you to dinner to thank you properly." Michael said with a gentle smile on his face.
"You are welcome, Mr. Jones. No need for that, I just did my job. As long as you are in good health, I will be happy." Ava smiled politely.
"Hello Dr. Green, we meet again." Liam came behind Ava silently and patted her lightly on the shoulder, which made her almost scream in fear.
"Ah! Mr. Jones, it's you." Ava frowned a little. She always hated people who walked without sound, she found it really creepy.
"Yes, did I scare you, sorry I didn't mean to! I'm here to pick up my dad." Liam smiled gently, like a very warm sun.
"Well ok, you should sort out the formalities then, I have to go, I have an operation later." Ava laughed and turned to leave.
"Dr. Green, this weekend, would you like to have dinner with me, I have something important to discuss with you." Liam put forward the invitation directly, he was confident Ava would not refuse him. However, Ava's answer really surprised him!
"I'm sorry, Mr. Jones. I'm busy writing my paper recently. I don't think I will be able to make time." Ava refused him politely once again.
Ava was not stupid, a blind date already made a ruckus at home if she agreed to have dinner with Liam then she didn't even want to think what Oliver would do, besides she needed to visit Sarah this weekend anyway. As long as Sarah's issues don't get settled she won't be at ease.
"Dr. Green, this is the second time you refused me, and in front of my father, this is really embarrassing," Liam said with a sad face.
"Yes, Dr. Green, It's just one dinner anyway, I am sure you will be able to take some time." Michael pushed the boat along the river. Ava was a very important chess piece for him and he had to make good use of her. How could he let her go that easily?
Ava thought of what Liam said and felt he was right she refused him twice so directly, Liam was a man after all she must have hurt his ego but she still didn't want to say yes so said tactfully, "Well ok then, I will let you know when I have some free time."
Ava was very busy the rest of the day. At 4:30 p.m., she finished the last operation. She quickly took a shower, changed her clothes, and put on some ugly makeup so her date would feel disgusted seeing her. That was her plan all along to mess up the date.
